LINIMENT.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 228,026, dated May 25, 1880. Application filed December 3, 1879.
To juniper, oil of henbane, (hyoscyamus,) laureloil, pine-oil, oil of burdock, oil of rhododen- (lruni chrysanthemum, oil of ants, spirits of camphor, and walnut-leaf oil.
The method of preparing the oil of burdock is well known; and it consists in soaking the burdock in linseed-oil, or other oil, to obtain an extract therefrom. The Walnut-leaf oil described is not a nut-oil, being obtained by soaking' the leaves of the walnut-tree in oil.
In carrying out my invention, I take about equal parts of these ingredients and mix the same together in a cold state, when the compound is ready for use.
This compound forms a liniment which is very efficacious in curing rheumatism and 25 other similar diseases.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A compound liniment consisting of oil of juniper, oil of henbane, laurel-oil, pine-oil, oil 0 of burdock, oil of rhododendrum chrysanthemum, oil of ants, spirits of camphor, and walnut-leaf oil, mixed together in the proportions specified, for the purpose set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I 5 have hereunto set myhand and seal this 17th day of November, 1879.
