The present invention relates to improvements in radio-electrical transmitters to decrease their required space and their weights. In the problems presenting themselves, especially in avia- 6 tion and in the army, structures of mixed stations are often found, i. e. stations which can transmit on long waves and on short waves. All these stations must in the majority of cases be adapted for a continuous range with wave lengths arbitrarily chosen in this range, and furthermore they must permit of a minimum of operations.
For solving the problem, the invention provides:
1. The reassembling of control organs utilizing parts common to different modes of functioning.
2. Arrangements affording reducing the number of control means while conserving the maximum output of the system.
3. Dialing systems arranged to permit of a precise adjustment at small required space 'for the mechanism.
A. In the stations considered the organ controlling the most importantwave length is the variable condenser.
The invention provides a special condenser for oscillatory circuit and which comprises two stators and a common rotor.
B. In order to reduce the number of control means it could be of advantage to utilize for the antenna circuit, in accordance with the invention, a control whereby at the same time the coupling of the oscillatory circuit of the output tube, and the tuning of the aerial will be modified, so as to permit the system to function under the most favorable conditions on the entire wave range employed.
C. The automatic indication of different positions selected during the advancement of a condenser, variometer, or any other apparatus was hitherto obtained by a single spring stopper engaging in the seat machined in each of the various catches arranged along the periphery of a wheel rigidly connected with the control shaft, and on which they were fixedly secured in advance in properly determined positions. It would also be possible in turning the Wheel to engage the chosen catch at the place underneath the stop and thus to fixedly secure the position obtained.
This simple method has Serious drawbacks. Thus, if two catches come to abut against each other on the periphery of the wheel, there will be lost the entire angle of control existing between the two adjacent positions so that at least a third catch is to be disposed diametrically opposite and which is not always possible especially in the present application.
The passing of each catch in front of the stop member causes the latter to rise, for two adjacent catches, and especially when opposite, 5 an uncertain condition may thereby exist, so that it will be necessary to control the position of arrest by reading which removes any interest in the automatic stopping. 1
This invention will best be understood by reierring to the accompanying drawing, in which:

Referring now in detail to Fig. 1, there is shown a theoretical illustration of the system for three adjusted wave lengths. Numerals I, 2 and 3 indicate the three catch members which can be displaced and fixedly secured in the periphery of a rotatable disc 4 marking three positions adjusted to in advance. The periphery of disk 4 may be soldered as shown or in any other suitable manner. I
The three stoppers I, 2, 3 formed of pushers whose cross section in Fig. 1c shows the assembly of the detail parts, are arranged concentrically to the disc 4, and displaced in the structure and to the plane of the disc 4, as. indicated by the lines 00,137 of the plan view Fig. 1b and side view Fig. id as well as perspective view Fig. 2 showing the modified arrangement wherein the catches are in the form of slots. The pushers are supported on bridge-like member 5, which is fixed with respect to rotatable disks l by means of a suitable plate 6, through which passes a rotatable shaft 1.
In order to simplify the illustration, the three catch members I, 2, 3 have been placed voluntarily just in front of three pushersl', 2, 3. which are spaced at an angle therebetween that is slightly greater than the minimum angle obtained from the coming together of two adjacent catch members. Under this condition, they can be spaced at any angle. In the case of Fig. 1, these three catch members engage at the same time in the corresponding pushers, the value of the three wave lengths being thus exactly the same. Thus, for a chosen position of R3 (the third wave length) it is possible to vary M (the first wave length) within limits of A3 as narrow as desired, since the same identical value can be obtained. The same is true for m (the second wave length) with respect to A1, as well as to M. Moreover, the system can be used in general since a number of wave lengths above 3 can be utilized. To this end it is suflicient to set up on the same shaft the same number of similar devices of catch members and pushers. If in the latter case it is desired to avoid excessive superposition of the devices the following modificatio as shown in Fig. 2 can be resorted to.
The three catch members and the three pushers are situated in the same plane, but the three catch members have notches of difierent slopes, namely the catch member I has its notch inclined towards the left, the member 2 has an axial notch, and 3 has a notch inclined towards the right. The device is not limited to this number given only by way of example.
It will be readily seen that the three pushers can be lodged individually only in the single notch assigned thereto.
In this way, the height and the weight of the assembly are considerably reduced.
The notches may have any shape as long as the principle of non-interchangeability between them is respected.
What is claimed is:
1. In a dialing system for a radioel-ectric apparatus comprising a fixed part, a tuning wheel and several catches on the periphery thereof and several stopping means fixed in the apparatus for engaging the catches in predetermined positions of the wheel, said catches being disposed in several planes parallel to the wheel plane. In a dialing system for a radioelectric apparatus comprising a fixed part, a tuning wheel and several catches on the periphery thereof and several stopping means fixed in the apparatus for engaging the catches in predetermined positions of the wheel, in combination, a longitudinal form of the catches, this form being oriented difierently for each catch, and a longitudinal edge terminating each stopping means, the orientation of each edge being the same as the orientation of a corresponding catch.
3. In a dialing system for a radioelectric apparatus, a fixed part, a tuning wheel comprising several catches disposed on the periphery thereof, several pushers mounted on said fixed part radially with respect to said wheel and comprising holding means'for engaging said catches in View of stopping said wheel in predetermined positions, said holding means being so positioned that each predetermined holding means engages only one predetermined catch.
4. In a dialing system for a radioelectric apparatus comprising a rotatable tuning wheel, a plurality of catches located adjacent the periphery of said wheel, a plurality of stopping means fixed with respect to said wheel for engaging said catches in predetermined positions on the wheel, said catches being disposed in several planes parallel to the wheel plane.
5. In a dialingsystem for a radioelectric apparatus comprising a rotatable tuning wheel, a plurality of catches located adjacent the periphery of .said wheel, a plurality of stopping means fixed with respect to said wheel for engaging the catches in predetermined positions on the wheel, in combination, a longitudinal form of the catches, said form being oriented differently for each catch, and a longitudinal edge terminating each stopping means, the orientation of each edge being the same asthe orientation of a corresponding catch.
6. In a dialing system for a radioelectric apparatus, comprising a rotatable tuning wheel, a plurality of catches disposed on'the periphery of said wheel, a plurality of pushers fixed radially with respect to said wheel, a plurality of holding means for engaging said catches for stopping said wheel in predetermined positions, and means for adapting each predetermined pusher to engage only one predetermined catch.
