Description
J ly 11, 1939. H. T. HALLBERG 2,165 419 Y TEE OFF APRON Filed Aug. 9, 1938 In venfor Henry fh a/llfiey Patented July 11, 1939 UNITED STATES PATENT QFFECE Application August 9,
1 Claim.
This invention relates to a tee ofi arrow, the general object of the invention being to provide a flat arrow having a row of holes in its rear end of different diameters for receiving a tapered tee,
whereby the arrow will indicate the direction of flight of the ball driven from the tee and the difierent sizes of holes will enable the tee to be adjusted to different heights.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:
Figure 1 is a top plan View of the arrow with the tapered tee in the large hole thereof.
Figure 2 is an elevation with the rear portion of the arrow in section.
Figure 3 is a plan view of the arrow.
In this drawing the arrow is shown at l and is of flat construction to provide upper and lower flat faces and the rear end of the arrow is enlarged as shown at 2 and this enlarged part is provided with a longitudinally extending row of 30 holes 3. The holes gradually decrease in diam eter from the rearmost one to the front one. I also provide a tee 4, the shank of which tapers downwardly, the shank being adapted to be passed throughany one of the holes 3. As will 35 be seen when the tee is placed in the large hole the head of tee will be close to the ground but when the tee is placed in the intermediate hole 1938, Serial No. 223,975
the head of the tee will be a greater distance from the ground and when the tee is placed in the small front hole the head of the tee will be a considerable distance from the ground. Thus these holes enable the height of the tee to be adjusted relative to the ground so that the golfer can secure the desired tee of height by placing the tee. in the desired hole.
Of course, the arrow is adjusted to point in the direction of the desired flight of the ball and this device will give the golfer direction, proper tee off height and will help to eliminate slices and hooks. The device will help to draw the attention of the player to the ball, and thereby improving his form and developing confidence in the player.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
A golfing accessory comprising an arrow formed of thin and flat stock and of the same thickness throughout with its rear portion widened and said rear portion having a longitudinally extending row of holes therein, said holes being of different sizes and a tee having a tapered shank adapted to be passed through any one of the holes, said holes regulating the distance the tee is forced into the ground.
