Description

J. MAHAWASM 29E65J45 GAME 0F SKILL Filed April 24. 1939 ATTORNEY.
Patented July 4, 1939 UNEED STATES ATEN' OFFICE 3 Claims.
My invention relates to improvements in games, and more particularly has reference to, and is 'lustrated in the accompanying drawing in its application to a series of rotatable wheels havff ing characters thereon for rotation about a common axis for determining values in playing the game.
Referring to said drawing, Fig. i illustrates in front elevation an arrangement of three wheels 1') and parts embodying an application of my invention, and Fig. 2 shows the same partly in vertical cross-section.
3 indicates the standard or support, having a shaft d, with a shoulder E, and threaded outer end 6, to receive the nut and washer l, 3, for holding the same securely in the upright 3. 9 indicates a collar, and I@ a hub rotatable upon the inner end of said non-rotatable shaft li, said hub carrying rods i with arms I3, I4, 'to the 30 free ends of which is secured the wheel or ring I6 indicates an arm secured upon the standard 3 and having secured at its outer extremity a flexible rubber finger Il, adapted to strike a 23 circular row of pins I8, upon the face of the wheel I as the same is revolved, suitable characters being marked upon the wheel between the pins. The intermediate concentric wheel I9 is carried by arms 2), upon rods 2i, secured in hub 22, also rotatable upon the shaft 4, and rods 23, carry arm 24, with resilient rubber finger 25 for engaging the circular row of pins 26 in the face of wheel i9, which is also marked with characters between said pins.
.'-I) The arm 23 is secured to the shaft 4 by any suitable means such as the set-screw 2l, but the hub 22 is free to rotate thereon, and partly houses the support 28 of the rod 23, which in turn partly houses the inner end of the rotatable hub lil.
40 The support 29 is also secured to the shaft Il,
as by set-screw 3Q, and is recessed into the rotatable hub 3|, carrying wheel 32, also pro-vided with a circular row of pins 33 which also pass in the path of the rubber finger 34 when wheel 45 32 is turned with characters marked between the pins, said fingers 3d being held by arm 35 upon rod 36, secured to the support 29. 36 indicates an ornamental nut for securing the wheels, and the spaces 31 and 38, between wheels 32 and I9,
and i9 and I5 respectively, allow room for the finger to pass through for rotating the wheels I 9 and I5 by engaging the supporting rods 2| or II as may be desired.
This arrangement allows for several to play the game at the same time, and also allows for a wide range of values or characters, `thus adapting the device to various games in which values are to be ascertained in the manner described.
Of course it will be understood that various i0 modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention as claimed.
I claim:
1. In a device of the character described, a series of wheels rotatable about a common axis, and a support for said axis, each of said wheels having its face in a common plane, pins extending from said faces, fingers in the path of said pins, and characters between said pins, hubs for said wheels and rods extending radially there- 3l from to the backs of the faces of said wheels, rods for said fingers, supports for said finger rods, some of said supports nesting concentrically with some of said hubs.
2. In a device of the character described, a i5 series of wheels rotatable about a common axis, and a support for said axis, each of said wheels having its face in a common plane, pins extending from said faces, fingers in the path of said pins, and characters between said pins, hubs for said wheels and rods extending radially therefrom to the backs of the faces oi said wheels, rods for said fingers, supports for said finger rods, some of said supports nesting concentrically with some of said hubs, said faces of said wheels spaced apart concentrically,
3. In a device of the character described, a series of wheels rotatable about a common axis, and a support for said axis, each of said wheels having its face in a common plane, pins extending from said faces, ngers in the path of said pins, and characters between said pins, hubs for said wheels and rods extending radially therefrom to the backs of the faces of said Wheels, rods for said ngers, supports for said finger rods.
