My invention relates to a beer skimmer, and the principal object thereof is to provide a simple, inexpensive device for removing the foam from a glass of beer as an incident to removal of the glass from beneath the faucet.

Another object is to provide a device for the purpose above set forth which may be readily and securely attached to beer faucets of different types and'easily removed therefrom for the purpose of cleaning.

To the accomplishment of the above, and subordinate objects presently appearing, a preferred embodiment of my invention has been illustrated in the accompanying drawing, set forth in detail in the following description, and defined in the claims appended hereto.

Another object is to provide a device which will serve as a bumper on the faucet to avoid chipping and breaking glasses.

In the said drawing:

Referring to the drawing by numerals, my invention in its illustrated embodiment comprises a segmental device I of medium soft rubber having a flat top part '2 and an arcuate peripheral flange 3 depending from said top part. A depending cylindrical socket' part 4 is formed in the top part 2 in the axis of the device and designed to fit snugly over the lower end of the usual beer faucet 5. The socket part 4 is provided around its lower edge with an inturned flange 6 adapted to fit up against the lower end of the faucet 5 and prevent the member from being forced upwardly too far thereon. Preferably the flange 3, on the inner side thereof, tapers outwardly and downwardly so that said flange is quite flexible. The flange 3 extends downwardly below the socket part 4 for a purpose presently seen.

When the device is applied to a faucet, the flange 3 provides a flexible edge offset from the faucet, preferably at the right side thereof, un-

der which the top edge of the glass of beer drawn from the faucet may be moved with a wiping action to skim the foam off quickly and easily. As will be clear, the operations of removing the glass from beneath the faucet 5 and skimming the same are practically accomplished simultaneously.

A device of this character is easily applied, saves time, and obviates having to set the glass up on the bar and removing the foam by means of a ruler, as is the usual practice.

The foregoing description will, it is believed, suffice to impart a clear understanding of my invention, without further explanation.

It is to be understood that the present disclosure is illustrative rather than restrictive and that right is herewith reserved to modifications in details described falling within the scope of the appended claims.

What I claim is:

1. A device of the class described for attachment to a faucet and comprising, a cylindrical socket part adapted to fit over the mouth of the faucet, and a segmental part of resilient material at one side of the socket part disposed in a plane transverse to the axis of the socket part, said segmental part having a downturned flange extending around the edge thereof opposite to the socket part.

2. A device of the class described for attachment to a faucet and comprising, a cylindrical socket part adapted to fit over the mouth of the faucet, and a segmental part of resilient material at one side of the socket part disposed in a plane transverse to the axis of the socket part, said segmental part having a downturned flange extending around the edge thereof opposite to the socket part, said flange tapering from the segmental part.

3. The combination with a faucet for dispensing beer, of means for skimming the foam off a glass of beer dispensed by said faucet and including a flat segmental portion having a downturned arcuate flange extending a substantial amount about said faucet, and means for supporting said skimming means adjacent said faucet and in a horizontal plane lower than the horizontal plane containing the lower edge of the faucet.
