This invention relates to an attachment for looms of that type including an electrically operatcd warp stop motion, and has for its object to V indicates a 100m, 7 the-loom harness, 8 the straps provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a
normally inactive attachment of the circuit closing type interposed in a circuit extended from the circuit for the electrically operated warp stop motion and made active by and on the falling of the loom harness when the straps which con- -trol the vertical movement'of the harness break, thereby closing the warp stop motion circuit resulting in the discontinuance of the operation of the loom.
The invention aims to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, means for automatically stopping the operation of a loom having an electrically operated-warp stop motion when the loom harness falls thereby preventing what are known as pick-outs which result in what is known .as seconds in the cloth while in the process of weaving.
Further objects of invention are to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a loom'attachment for the purpose referred to which is simple in its construction and arrangement,.
active from the loom harness, capable of being adjusted and comparatively inexpensive to man ufacture.
To the above ends and to others which may hereinafter appear, the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be more specifically referred to and illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications may be resorted to which fall within the scope of the invention as claimed.

Each circuit closing unit includes an angleshaped hanger member 26 formed of a vertically disposed rigidflatflleg 2;! and a horizontally disposed resilient leg. 22 formed. of a curved inner stretch 23 andannupwardly inclined flat outer cured tothe frame partv it by a headed holdfast means 28xtendingthrough such frame part and the furcation in theleg of such members. When the units are anchored to the frame parts i 5, l2, the legs 22 of the members 2%? extend towards each other. The furcations in the legs 2! permit of vertically adjusting the units :5, l6 relative to the frame parts H, 52 respectively.
Each circuit closing unit includes a fiat rectangular contact plate 29 and a resilient rectangular circuit closing member til arranged over, secured at its outer end to the outer end of and having its remaining portion spaced from the upper face of plate 29. The member 39 is formed in proximity to its inner end with an opening 3| into which extends the body of an annular flanged insulation member 32. The flange of the latter is indicated at 33 and abuts the lower face of member 39. Seated on the upper face of member 30 is a washer 34 of insulation material. Extending through the member 32 and washer 34 is a contact 35 in the form of an inverted headed screw. Carried by the contact is a clamping nut 36 for the member 32 and washer 33. Carried by the contact 35 above the nut 36 is a binder nut 31 for a conductor I! or E8. A plate 29 is disposed transversely of the stretch 24 of a leg 22 and is anchored to such stretch by a headed bolt 38 countersunk in and' extending through plate 29, the furcation in stretch 24 and depending below the latter,- a washer 39 on the shank of bolt 38 and a nut 40 bearing against the lower face of washer 39 and threadedly engaging with bolt 38. The latter in connection with the washer 39 and nut 40 coact to clamp plate 29 to stretch 24. The plate 29 is arranged at its transverse median on stretch 24 and is of a length to extend outwardly and inwardly with respect to the sides of the stretch 24. The furcation in the stretches 24 permit of the adjusting of the plates 29 lengthwise of said stretches. The plates 29 and members 30 are substantially of the same length. The ends of the members 39 carrying the contacts 35 are normally spaced from plates 29 whereby the contacts- 35 will be held normally free of engagement with plates 29. The grounds l9 lead from the plates 29. The conductor l1 leads from one end of the drop eye bars 9 to the contact 35 of the unit. The circuit closing members 30 are positioned in the downward path of the harness 1 whereby when the straps 8 break and the harness 1 drops it will engage the members 30 and cause contacts 35 to engage plates 29 and close the circuit Hi whereby the operation of the loom will be discontinued. The arrangement of the units l5, It in relation to the harness 1 is such that if oneof the straps 8 breaks on one side of the harness I, the latter will fall resulting in making active the unit l5 or I6 and closing circuit'i i whereby the operation of the loom will be discontinued.
What I claim is:
1. In an attachment for the purpose set forth, a normally inactive circuit closing unit formed of an L-shaped supporting member having a vertical leg for anchoring to a support and a horizontal leg extending at an angle from the lower end of the vertical leg, a contact plate disposed transversely of said horizontal leg, a depressible resilient circuit closing member arranged over and having one end anchored to one end of said plate, a contact normally spaced from and for coaction with said plate when said member is depressed, said contact extending through said member at the other end of the latter, means for insulating said contact from said member, and means for securing said plate to the horizontal leg.
2. In an attachment for the purpose set forth, a normally inactive circuit closing unit formed of an L-shaped supporting member having a vertical leg for anchoring to a support and a horizontal leg extending at an angle from the lower end of the vertical leg, a contact plate disposed transversely of said horizontal leg, a depressible resilient circuit closing member arranged over and having one end anchored to one end of said plate, a contact normally spaced from and for coaction with said plate when said memher is depressed, said contact extending through said member at the other end of the latter, means for insulating said contact from said member, and means for securing said plate to the horizontal leg, said vertical leg provided with means to permit of its being Vertically adjusted relative to the support to which it is anchored.
3. In an attachment for the purpose set forth, a normally inactive circuit closing unit formed of an L-shaped supporting member having a vertical leg for anchoring to a support and a horizontal leg extending at an angle from the lower end of the vertical leg, a contact plate disposed transversely of said horizontal leg, a depressible resilient circuit closing member arranged over and having one end anchored to one end of said plate, a contact normally spaced from and for coaction with said plate when said member is depressed, said contact extending through said member at the other end of the latter, means for insulating said contact from said member, means for securing said plate tothe horizontal leg, and said horizontal leg having means coacting with said securing means to provide for the adjusting of said plate lengthwise of said horizontal leg.
4. In an attachment for the purpose set forth, a normally inactive circuit closing unit formed of an L-shaped supporting member having a vertical leg for anchoring to a support and a horizontal leg extending at an angle from the lower end of the vertical leg, a contact plate disposed transversely of said horizontal leg, a depressible resilient circuit closing member arranged over and having one end anchored to one end of said plate, a contact normally spaced from and for coaction with said plate when said member is depressed, said contact extending through said member at the other end of the latter, means for insulating said contact from said member, means for securing said plate to the horizontal leg, said vertical leg being rigid and said horizontal leg being resilient.
