Description

April 13, 1937. 55 2,077,316
HOLDER FOR NECKTIES OR THE LIKE Filed June 25, 1935 INVENT OR.
ATTORNEY.
Patented Apr. 13, 1937 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE Application June 25,
2 Claims.
This invention relates to holders for neckties or the like and more particularly to the type of holder that permits the user to display a variety of neckties for use at his convenience.
5 The object of my invention is to provide a holder that will properly support and display neckties without in any way crushing them or causing them to be injured.
Another object of the invention is to so support and display a quantity of neckties or the like so that any one of them may be removed from the holder without disturbing the rest.
Another object of the invention is to provide a holder as described that will permit the individual supports to be arranged in various ways in the manufacture so as to provide space on the device for advertising copy or the like.
Still another object of my invention is to provide a holder for neckties or the like, that may be constructed out of one piece of material without any parts to be assembled thereto, thus 'providing a device that is economical to construct, yet efiicient in every way in performing the duties for which it is intended.
With the above and other objects which will be apparent as the description proceeds the invention consists in the following novel features and details of construction to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, and pointed out in the appended claims.
In the accompanying drawing Fig. l is a perspective view of the face of the entire device, a necktie being shown in dotted lines placed over one of the supporting members.
Fig. 2 illustrates the construction of one of the supporting members, and
Fig. 3 is a cross sectional view of a section of the device incorporating a supporting member.
Referring to the drawing in detail wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts, the reference character It! indicates a fiat 1935, Serial No. 28,310
the like, in position when supported by the member II. The attached ends of the members II are shown reinforced by means of embossed channels [4 to provide a more rigid construction.
The arrangement of the members ll may be varied to provide ample space on the face of the body member In for advertising copy, such as is indicated by the character I5, and the entire holder may be mounted against a wall by means of screws or nails through the apertures l6, placed in any convenient location on the device.
The support members II are arranged in such manner so that the neckties I! or the like, do not cover one another and the fiat construction of the entire device makes it possible for the user to mount same in any convenient location without the danger of interference due to projecting parts.
The integral construction affords a very eco nomical method of providing a device that is efiicient in its function and the novelty of the device as an advertising medium is manifest to any one familiar with the art.
The invention is susceptible to various changes in its form and minor details of construction and the-right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended claims; I
Having thus described my invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent in the United States, is:
1. As a new article of manufacture, an article holder comprising a fiat metal plate aperturedfor attachment to a support, oppositely arranged sets of article supporting tongues struck outwardly into parallel relation to and from said plate, said tongues being horizontally disposed and having the free ends of those of one set opposed to the similar ends of those of the other set, the tongues of each set being arranged in staggered relation one with respect to the other, and angled projections formed at the top sides of the free ends of said tongues to retain articles in place thereon. I
2. The new article of manufacture as set forth in claim 1, wherein the connected ends of the several tongues are each formed to provide a central outwardlychannelled portion to .lend rigidity thereto.
