The material removed from the 55 opening of the inner end of the sleeve end is retained in integral jointure with the sleeve and bent longitudinally from the sleeve forming a flat lug 20 so that it may project through a corresponding slot 20 in the inner end or head of the socket, Either as a continuation of this or joined thereto as shown, there is a switch blade and retaining member 2|, which if applied may be of thicker metal, and is offset a little, so that it cannot be drawn outward through the slot. Within the opening in the head of the sleeve there is a Xed center contact 22 of familiar form held by the axial bolt 23. The inner end of the receptacle is formed with a recess 24 opposite the socket, and spaced from the lug 20 and blade, in which there is set snugly the base of a switch arm 25, bent over its base and normally bearing against the contact ilange I5. The switch arm is formed with a nodule 26 adapted to engage yieldingly in the aperture in the ilange I5 and serving as a means to prevent the opening of Ythe switch casually. The bolt 23 is extended through the base of the switch arm 25 and receives a nut as shown whereby the arm 25 and contact 22 are held in assembly. An additional slot 21 parallel to the one 20 may be formed through the head of the socket of the receptacle on the opposite side of the axis of the receptacle from the one through which the lug 20 is engaged, though only one slot is used in each receptacle. This permits the receptacle bodies to be used interchangeably, however, as one slot is used at one end of the device and the other slot is used when the receptacle is mounted at the other end of the device.
The body of the receptacle is formed with a plate 28 projected longitudinally from its inner end over the outer side of the wall I3, this plate being flush with and formed as a continuation of the attened side of the receptacle body. On the inner side of the plate 28 near its extremity a pivot yoke 29 yis secured by screws 29 extended from the outer side of the plate 28. The yokes are U-shaped and have ears extending on each side of the wall I3, suitable pivot pins being engaged through the ears and wall I3. The ears on the yokes 29 are long enough to allow the plate 28 to clear the wall I3 suiiiciently for the pivotal movement of the receptacle, as desired.
Two receptacles are pivoted on the block I2 extending in opposite directions and the pivot pins are likewise sufiiciently spaced longitudi- On each receptacle a spring plate 30 is mounted on the outer face of the plate 28, being held under the screws 29', and these plates are projected beyond the extremities of the plates 28 and curved inwardly so as to form leaf springs 3| which bear against and yieldingly oppose each other when either receptacle is vswung outward. This is intended to cushion the stoppage of the swinging movement of the receptacles, and minimize liability of breakage of the wall I3. By using material in the plates 30 of the same width blades 2|, screws 33 may be engaged through the wall I3 and into the plate l5 to retain the same, While at one end, the screw 33 may also hold a wire binding terminal 34, supplemental fastenings being provided for the latter as required,I

Ovei` the more recessed central upper edge portion of the plate I5 a screw 34 may be engaged through the wall I3, holding a central wire binding terminal 35 and the plate I4 together and against the block I2. Due to the clearances between the wall I3 and sides of the casing I0 insulated wires 36 may be laid in the casing beside the wall I3 and secured in the terminals.
Suitable openings may be made medially in the sides of the casing to pass the wires outwardly therethrough, as indicated in Figure 4.
In the assembly of the device the blades 2| are both disposed at the same side of the device, and arranged to engage respective end porw tions of the plate I4, which is apertured in its upper part where the blades overlap it, and each blade is formed with a nodule to engage the aperture, making for better contact as Well as effecting yielding retention of the switch in closed position. The blades 2| stop short of each other sufliciently to enable ready mounting of the wire terminal therebetween.
In use, the device being assembled as described,
the fixture may be mounted in various conned locations, as, in reading lamps, show window xtures, show case corners, in drawers, refrigerators, etc. Being secured in place, the receptacles are alternately operated by grasping the sides of the broadened side of the receptacle body and drawing it outwardly from the case IIJ, to the special or open position, so that the lamp 31 may be inserted. This done, this receptacle is pressed back to normal position and the operation repeated with the other receptacle. As each receptacle is drawn outward, the switch blade 2| moves outward on the plate I4 without clearing it however. while the switch arm rides on the insulation outwardly of the contact flange I 5 on the end of the will engage outwardly oi' the angle between the top or outer edge face of the wall I3 and the end face thereof to yieldingly hold the receptacle in open position conveniently i'or removal of the lamp or replacement thereof. receptacle pivoted on the body to swing from juxtaposition with one face toward the other, a resilient wiper on the receptacle having movement toward and away from the axis of the pivot and including resilient means to press the wiper on the contact, and a second contact on the body spaced from the iirst and adjacent said axis, a contact on the receptacle to liebeside the second contact on the body, said two last named contacts including resilient means to bear them together in a direction parallel to said axis, and being o1' an extent to remain in lapping contact throughout movement of the receptacle, said wiper having a prominence thereon to engage the angularity between the irst named two faces to oppose move'- ment of the receptacle on its pivot at certain stages of its movement, and electrical connections for said contacts on the body.
2. In a device of the character described, a body base member, two receptacles pivoted thereon for wail la. At the outermost position the nodule 2s 140 movement alternatively from normal positions to open positions in a common vdirection but extending in opposite directions from their pivots, and having parts convergently movable relatively on 5 operation of either receptacle from normal toward open position, and resilient means interposed between the last named parts for coengagement for the purpose described.

In a device of the character described, a body 10 member having an elongated Wall projecting therefrom, said wall having end faces and an edge face, a contact in the end faces, means to form electrical connection therewith, a receptacle pivoted on the body `adjacent each end face to 15 swing from juxtaposition with respective end faces toward the edge face, a resilient wiper on each receptacle for engagement with respective contacts, a second contact on the Wall terminating adjacent the end faces of the wall, a contact blade Q0 on each receptacle cooperable with the second contact, the blades being of a length to remain in lapping contact throughout movements of the receptacles, releasable means between respective' v blades and the contact for holding the receptacles 2i in normal positions, and electrical connections for the second contact.
4. A lighting fixture comprising a trough-like reflector having its side portions cut away for admission of electrical conductors, a body member mounted within the reflector adjacent the out away portions and including binding posts for attachment of the electrical conductors, a wall on the body member, said wall having end faces and an edge face, a contact in the end faces in electrical connection with one of the electrical conductors, a receptacle pivotally mounted on the body adjacent each end face to swing from juxtaposition with respective end faces toward the edge face, a resilient wiper on each respective receptacle for engagement with respective contacts, a second contact on the wall terminating adjacent the end faces of the wall and in electrical circuit with the other electrical conductor, a contact blade on each receptacle cooperable with the second named contact, the blades being of a length to remain in lapping contact throughout movements of the receptacles, and releasable means between respective blades and the contact for holding the receptacles in normal positions.
