'2 Claims. (Cl. 179-185) This invention relates to improvements in sanitary protectors for telephone transmitters and receivers, and its leading object is to provide a simple, inexpensive cover for a telephone transmitter or mouthpiece, which will resiliently grip the telephone part and provide a sanitary protection for the user.
An object of the invention is the provision of a sanitary cover for telephones, having a sleeve portion adapted to be stretched over the telephone part, and an outer portion provided with a voice opening, which may be stretched over or snugly placed and held against the telephone transmitter or mouthpiece, or the receiver of the telephone.
A still further object is to provide means for simplifying the connection between the sanitary telephone cover and the telephone part engaged thereby.
With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in certain new and useful constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts, clearly described in the following specification, and fully illustrated in the accompanying 25 drawing, in which:-
Fig. 1 is a side view, partly in longitudinal section, showing a conical transmitter mouthpiece provided with a sanitary cover.

In Figs. 1 and 2 I show a form of the invention, wherein the resilient rubber cover is appliedto the conical mouthpiece of a telephone transmitter H. In this case the cover i8 is made tubular, and may be formed with a conical portion H! to enclose the mouthpiece l1, and with another conical portion to snugly fit in this monthpiece and form a sanitary facing or lining there- 5 for. The larger ends of the two conical portions are integrally connected at 2|, which corresponds with the end of the mouthpiece. The end of the conical portion I9 is formed with a terminal bead Na, and the end of the conical portion 20 is pro- 10 vided with a terminal bead 20a, to aid in the mounting or positioning of the protective attachment.
The external and internal sanitary mouthpiece protector is provided with a resilient wall, which 15 grips all exposed surfaces of the mouthpiece.
Having described my invention, I claim as new and patentable:
1. A telephone protector, comprising a tubular body of flexible resilient material adapted to be 20 positioned over a mouthpiece, resiliently grip the same and cover the inner and outer surfaces thereof and the outer edge thereof. 1
