GRINDING-MILL.
Speccaton of Letters Patent No. 20,310, dated May 18, 1858.
To aU whom may concern:
Be it known that we, SALvAnoR Vascosv and ADOLPHE Grimani), of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Grinding-Mills; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon and made to form part of this specification.
Similar letters and figures refer to like p arts of the improvement.
The nature of our improvement consists in the combined arrangement of parts composing the mill, with which we make one notliable'to get out of order in its running gear and the grinding surface will not become dull with the same amount of wear as those in ordinary use, and can be made cheaper for grinding a given quantity of grain than any mill in common use and will not heat the grain in the process of grinding and occupy less space.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use our improvement we will proceed to describe its construction and operation by referring directly to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1, is a longitudinal sectional view of the mill showing the end of the stone. Fig. 2, is a transverse sectional view through the mill stone and other parts of the machinery, and Fig. 8 represents the gearing used for giving the proper motion to the grain crackers.
