Abstract

The present invention is a cushion cover system whereby a cushion cover has a first stored configuration within a cushion and a second deployed configuration whereby the cover extends outward from an interior cavity of the cushion and is affixed about the cushion.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Many persons remember the decorating fad of the 1960s and 1970s whereby plastic covers were used to protect household furniture. Wow these covers were effective and protecting the furniture, they were cumbersome, difficult to remove, and often resulted on persons having to sit on uncomfortable plastic covers. A significant problem is configuring furniture with covers that are easily applied and removed. There is a need for such a configuration.
The present invention addresses this need.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

As generally understood, invention provides for a seat cover cushion cover system whereby the cover when not in use, is hidden within the cushion.
The hidden configuration we are by the cover is within the question is called the storage or first configuration. The configuration where the cover is extending outward from the interior cavity of the question is called the second or deployed configuration.
In one embodiment, the present invention is a system for using a seat cushion cover, said system comprising:

- a seat cushion configured with cushion cover storage slot and an interior cavity;
- a cushion cover permanently attached to a wall defining said interior cavity, said cushion cover configured in a first stored configuration being inside said interior cavity and a second deployed configuration whereby a section of said cover is drawn outward from said interior cavity through said cushion cover storage slot and positioned about said seat cushion as a cover.

In one embodiment, the cushion cover storage slot is on a bottom of said seat cushion.
In one embodiment, the cushion is configured with a seat back and said cover storage slot is on a back portion of said seat cushion.
In one embodiment, the present invention is a system for using a seat cushion cover, said system consisting of:

- a seat cushion configured with cushion cover storage slot and an interior cavity;
- a cushion cover permanently attached to a wall defining said interior cavity, said cushion cover configured in a first stored configuration being inside said interior cavity and a second deployed configuration whereby a section of said cover is drawn outward from said interior cavity through said cushion cover storage slot and positioned about said seat cushion as a cover, whereby said cushion cover storage slot is positioned either underneath said seat cushion or positioned in the back of a cushion provided in a chair configuration having a back portion.

In one embodiment, the cushion cover is water resistant and/or provided with a UV protective material so cushions don't get ruined in the rain or fade.
The covers can be a clear plastic or can be decorative as desired by a user.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Although the drawings depict a particularized embodiment utilizing a hand reader, the present invention is contemplated as configurable in any physical structure whereby the inventive scope and concept are achieved.
Cushion system 10 includes cushion cover 12 that has a cover storage slot 20 incorporated in cushion cover 12. Cover storage slot 20 accesses interior cavity 13 in which Cushion cover 12 has a permeant attachment 30 inside the cushion.
System 10 provides for cushion cover 12 to be in either a stored configuration or a covered configuration. When a user wishes to deploy the covered configuration, a user 16 Will reach through cover storage slot 20 into the interior of a cushion grasp protective cover 12 from Cover storage sleeve 14 and cover a cushion as shown in FIG. 4 .
In a configuration with a cushion on a flat style chair, as demonstrated in FIG. 3 , the cushion is drawn across the chair and is configured congruent with the chair cushion such that it folds and covers when deployed.

When a user desires to store cover 12, they merely uncover the covered cushion and place cushion cover 12 into cover storage sleeve 14 by pushing cushion cover 12 through cover storage slot 20. As generally understood, protective storage sleeve 14 is positioned within the interior of a cushion and surrounded by cushion filler 18.
The present invention contemplates an embodiment whereby coverage storage slot 20 is on the bottom of a seat cushion as demonstrated in FIG. 5 . As shown, FIG. 5 demonstrates Seat configuration 28.
In an additional embodiment, coverage storage slot 20 is on the back portion of a cushion as demonstrated in FIG. 6 . As shown, FIG. 6 demonstrates back storage configuration 28.
While the invention has been described in its preferred form or embodiment with some degree of particularity, it is understood that this description has been given only by way of example and that numerous changes in the details of construction, fabrication, and use, including the combination and arrangement of parts, may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

What is claimed:

1. A system for using a seat cushion cover, said system comprising:

a seat cushion configured with cushion cover storage slot and an interior cavity;

a cushion cover permanently attached to a wall defining said interior cavity, said cushion cover configured in a first stored configuration being inside said interior cavity and a second deployed configuration whereby a section of said cover is drawn outward from said interior cavity through said cushion cover storage slot and positioned about said seat cushion as a cover.

2. The system of claim 1 wherein said cushion cover storage slot is on a bottom of said seat cushion.

3. The system of claim 1 wherein said cushion is configured with a seat back and said cover storage slot is on a back portion of said seat cushion.
