- Method 3 Maize embryos were washed 3 times using 2 mL of sterile water. The maize embryos were incubated in a tube containing 50 ⁇ L of sterile water for 10 minutes. Tubes containing the maize embryos were agitated via tapping 10 times. The water was then removed from each tube for analysis.
