  • DESCRIPTION
  • 1. Field of the invention
  • This invention relates to the decoration of stemware by the attachment of a stem pops, a removable piece that fastens around the stem of stemware.
  • 2. Background of the Invention
  • The stem pops is designed to add decoration to stemware without interfering with the utility of the stemware to which it is attached. The stem pops attaches around the stem of stemware in such a fashion so as to allow the user of the stemware to continue to hold the stemware by its stem without fear the stem of the stemware would slip out of the stem pops.
  • An attempt has been made to address decorative attachments to stemware.
  • In U.S. Pat. D505,588 Wax discloses a flat wine stem id ring that attaches around the stem of a wine glass that appears to cover the base of the glass, whereas the present disclosure reveals a stem pops that wraps around the length of the stem of the stemware.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • A stem pops designed to attach along the length of a stem of stemware to add decoration. The stem pops is made from a formed material capable of retaining its original shape after being attached around the stem of the stemware, such that the formed material can be opened to allow the stem of the stem of the stemware to be inserted into the stem pops, thereafter, the stem pops closes around the stem of the stemware, back to its original shape. Later, the stem pops can be re-opened and removed from the stem of the stemware. The preferred embodiments of the stem pops include hexagonally a shaped stem pops, a square shaped stem pops, and a round shaped stem pops, although other shapes are possible.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING
  • FIG. 1A is a display of a piece of stemware with a hexagonally shaped stem;
  • FIG. 1B is a display of a hexagonally shaped version of the stem pops;
  • FIG. 2A is a display of a piece of stemware with a square shaped stem;
  • FIG. 2B is a display of a square shaped version of the stem pops;
  • FIG. 3A is a display of a piece of stemware with a round shaped stem; and
  • FIG. 3B is a display of a round shaped version of the stem pops;
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The present disclosure reveals a stem pops 1, which is an article of manufacture to decorate the stem of stemware 2 made of formed material with the capability of having sufficient flexibility so that the formed material can be opened to allow the stem of stemware 2 inserted or removed from the stem pops 1 and thereafter, the formed material returns to its original shape. The stem pops 1 is designed to fit a hexagonally shaped stem 3, a square shaped stem 4, and a round shaped stem 5.
  • FIG. 1A portrays a piece of stemware 2 with a hexagonally shaped stem 3. FIG. 1B portrays a hexagonally shaped stem pops 6, with the length 7 of the hexagonally shaped stem pops 6 is slightly shorter than the length 8 of the hexagonally shaped stem 3 around which the hexagonally shaped stem pops 6 is to be attached. The interstitial space 9 of the hexagonally shaped stem pops 6 is such that the hexagonally shaped stem pops 6 can fit snugly around the hexagonally shaped stem 3 and where the hexagonally shaped stem 3 cannot slide out of the hexagonally shaped stem pops 6 without first opening the hexagonally shaped stem pops 6.
  • FIG. 2A portrays a piece of stemware 2 with a square shaped stem 4. FIG. 2B portrays a square shaped stem pops 10, with the length 11 of the square shaped stem pops 10 is slightly shorter than the length 12 of the square shaped stem 4 around which the square shaped stem pops 10 is to be attached. The interstitial space 13 of the square shaped stem pops 10 is such that the square shaped stem pops 10 can fit snugly around the square shaped stem 4 and where the square shaped stem 4 cannot slide out of the square shaped stem pops 10 without first opening the square shaped stem pops 10.
  • FIG. 3A portrays a piece of stemware 2 with a round shaped stem 5. FIG. 3B portrays a round shaped stem pops 14, with the length 15 of the round shaped stem pops 14 is slightly shorter than the length 16 of the round shaped stem 5 around which the round shaped stem pops 14 is to be attached. The interstitial space 17 of the round shaped stem pops 14 is such that the round shaped stem pops 14 can fit snugly around the round shaped stem 5 and where the round shaped stem 5 cannot slide out of the round shaped stem pops 14 without first opening the round shaped stem pops 14.
