Abstract

Implementations of adornments for ornamenting boots or other footwear are provided. In some implementations, the adornment comprise stretch cords, a center ornament, and a connector wherein one or more stretch cords form a first loop around the ankle portion of the boot from one side of the center ornament to the other side of the center ornament. In some implementations, one or more stretch cords of the first loop that extend from opposite sides of the center ornament meets at the connector positioned opposite the center ornament. In some implementations, the adornment further includes one or more stretch cords forming a semi-loop extending from a bottom side of the center ornament, under the boot, and to the connector on the other side of the boot.

  • This application claims the benefit of U.S. Patent Application Ser. No. 61/928,854, which was filed on Jan. 17, 2014, and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
    • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • This disclosure relates to implementations of apparatus for ornamenting boots.
    • BACKGROUND
  • Boots typically have no ornamentation aside from any buckles that may be included on the boot. Existing decorations for boots may be bulky and may cling to or snag clothes (e.g., pants legs or long skirts), hosiery, and car mats. Some boot decorations includes hooks are latches that can make putting on the decoration difficult. Some boot decorations are not form fitting and thus may be too big and move around on the boot.

    •  DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Implementations of adornments for ornamenting boots or other footwear are provided. In some implementations, the adornment comprise stretch cords, a center ornament, and a connector wherein one or more stretch cords form a first loop around the ankle portion of the boot from one side of the center ornament to the other side of the center ornament. In some implementations, one or more stretch cords of the first loop that extend from opposite sides of the center ornament meets at the connector positioned opposite the center ornament. In some implementations, the adornment further includes one or more stretch cords forming a semi-loop extending from a bottom side of the center ornament, under the boot, and to the connector on the other side of the boot.
  • FIGS. 1A and 1B illustrate an implementation of an example adornment 100 for boots according to the present disclosure. The adornment 100 comprises a plurality of pieces of stretch cords 110, a center ornament 120, and a connector 130. In some implementations, portions of one or more of the stretch cords may include ornaments (e.g., beads) (not shown) placed along the stretch cord.
  • In some implementations, the center ornament 120 may be larger than the connector 130.
  • In some implementations, the center ornament 120 or connector 130 may include metal with glass inserts or gemstones. In some implementations, the center ornament 120 may be any object. In some implementations, the center ornament 120 or connector 130 may include one or more loops for connecting the stretch cords to the center ornament 120 or connector 130. In some implementations, stretch cords may be connected to the center ornament 120 or connector 130 in any suitable manner. One of ordinary skill in the art with the benefit of this invention would know how to connect the stretch cords to the center ornament 120 or connector 130.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, in some implementations, the adornment 100 includes a pair of stretch cords 110 a, b extending from opposite sides of the center ornament 120 and forming a first loop 140 around the ankle portion of the boot.
  • In some implementations, the pair of stretch cords extending from opposite sides of the center ornament 120 meets at the connector 130. In some implementations, the connector is positioned opposite the center ornament 120.
  • In some implementations the center ornament 120 is position in the outside side of the boot near the ankle portion. In some implementations, the connector 130 is positioned in the inside side of the boot.
  • In some implementations, the adornment 100 includes one stretch cord extending from opposite sides of the center ornament 120 and forming a first loop around the ankle portion of the boot. In some implementations, the adornment 100 includes more than two cords extending from opposite sides of the center ornament 120 and forming a first loop around the ankle portion of the boot.
  • In some implementations, the one or more cords extending from opposite sides of the center ornament 120 may be continuous where each cord has a first end extending from a first side of the center ornament 120 and a second end extending from a second side of the center ornament 120.
  • In some implementations, there is no connector 130.
  • As further shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, in some implementations, the adornment 100 includes a stretch cord 110 c extending from a bottom side of the center ornament 120 and forming a semi-loop 150 from one side of the boot, under the boot, and to the other side of the boot. The stretch cord 110 c meets with the other stretch cords at connector 130.
  • In some implementations, the adornment 100 includes only the first loop 140.
  • The adornment 100 may be placed on a boot in a variety of ways due to the stretch cords. For example, stretch cord 110 c may be gathered with stretch cords 110 a and then the boot may be inserted through the first loop 140 so that the loop encircles an ankle portion of the boot. In some implementations, the center ornament 120 may be positioned on the outside side of the boot near an ankle portion. The stretch cord 110 c should be in the back of the boot. Then, a portion of the stretch cord 110 c is pulled over the heel so that the stretch cord 110 c extends from the center ornament 120 on one side of the boot, under the boot, and to the connector 130 on the other side of the boot. The adornment 100 may be placed on the boot in any suitable manner.
  • FIGS. 2A and 2B illustrates another implementation of an example adornment 200 for boots according to the present disclosure. The adornment 200 comprises a plurality of pieces of stretch cords 210, a center ornament 220, and a connector 230. In some implementations, portions of one or more of the stretch cords may include ornaments (e.g., beads) (not shown) placed along the stretch cord.
  • In some implementations, the center ornament 220 and connector 230 are similar to the center ornament 120 and connector 130, respectively.
  • As shown in FIGS. 2A and 2B, in some implementations, the adornment 200 includes a stretch cords 210 a, b extending from opposite sides of the center ornament 220 and forming a first loop 240 around the ankle portion of the boot.
  • In some implementations, the stretch cords 210 a, b extending from opposite sides of the center ornament 220 meets at the connector 230. In some implementations, the connector 230 is positioned opposite the center ornament 220.
  • In some implementations the center ornament 220 is position in the front of the boot near the ankle portion. In some implementations, the connector 230 is positioned in the back of the boot.
  • In some implementations, the adornment 200 includes a plurality of stretch cords extending from opposite sides of the center ornament 220 and forming a first loop around the ankle portion of the boot.
  • In some implementations, the one or more cords extending from opposite sides of the center ornament 220 may be continuous where each cord has a first end extending from a first side of the center ornament 220 and a second end extending from a second side of the center ornament 220.
  • In some implementations, there is no connector 230.
  • As further shown in FIGS. 2A and 2B, in some implementations, the adornment 200 includes a stretch cord 210 c extending from a first side of the center ornament 220 and forming a second loop 250 from the top of the boot, under the boot, and back around the top of the boot. The stretch cord 210 c ends at the second side of the center ornament 220.
  • As further shown in FIGS. 2A and 2B, in some implementations, the adornment 200 includes a stretch cord 210 d extending from a first side of the connector 230 and forming a third loop 260 from a heal portion of the boot, under the boot adjacent the heal, and back around the heal portion of the boot. The stretch cord 210 d ends at a second side of the connector 230.
  • In some implementations, the adornment 200 includes only the first loop 240. In some implementations, the adornment 200 includes only the first loop 240 and second loop 250.
  • The adornment 200 may be placed on a boot in a variety of ways due to the stretch cords. For example, loops 240 and 250 may be gathered together and then the boot may be inserted through the first loop 240 and 250 second loop so that the loops encircles an ankle portion of the boot. In some implementations, the center ornament 220 may be positioned in the front of the boot. The third loops 260 should be in the back of the boot. Then, a portion of the stretch cord 210 c is pulled over the heel so that the stretch cord 210 c extends from the center ornament 120 on the top of the boot, under the boot, and back around to the center ornament 220 on the top of the boot. Then, a portion of the stretch cord 210 d is pulled over the heel so that the stretch cord 210 d extends from a first side of the connector 230 from a heal portion of the boot, under the boot adjacent the heal, and back around the heal portion of the boot to a second side of the connector 230. The adornment 200 may be placed on the boot in any suitable manner.
  • In some implementations, the stretch cords may be replaced with string. In some implementations, the stretch cords may be replaced with wire. In some implementations, the stretch cords may be replaced with a stretchable material. In some implementations, the stretch cords may be replaced with any suitable material.
  • In some implementations, the implementations of the adornments are configured for shoes or any suitable footwear.
  • Reference throughout this specification to “an embodiment” or “implementation” or words of similar import means that a particular described feature, structure, or characteristic is included in at least one embodiment of the present invention. Thus, the phrase “in some implementations” or a phrase of similar import in various places throughout this specification does not necessarily refer to the same embodiment.
  • Many modifications and other embodiments of the inventions set forth herein will come to mind to one skilled in the art to which these inventions pertain having the benefit of the teachings presented in the foregoing descriptions and the associated drawings.
  • The described features, structures, or characteristics may be combined in any suitable manner in one or more embodiments. One skilled in the relevant art will recognize, however, that embodiments of the invention can be practiced without one or more of the specific details, or with other methods, components, materials, etc. In other instances, well-known structures, materials, or operations may not be shown or described in detail.
  • While operations are depicted in the drawings in a particular order, this should not be understood as requiring that such operations be performed in the particular order shown or in sequential order, or that all illustrated operations be performed, to achieve desirable results.

Claims (10)

1. An adornment comprising:
a center ornament,
a connector,
at least one first stretch cord extending from a first side of the center ornament and at least one second stretch extending from a second side of the center ornament wherein the first stretch cord and the second stretch cord attach to the connector thereby forming a first loop; and
at least one third stretch cord extending from a third side of the center ornament and attaching to the connector thereby forming a semi-loop.
2. The adornment of claim 1 wherein the first, second, and third stretch cord includes ornaments attached thereto.
3. The adornment of claim 1 wherein the connector is positioned opposite the center ornament.
4. The adornment of claim 1 wherein the at least one first stretch cord and the at least one second stretch cord are continuous where a first end of the continuous cord extends from the first side of the center ornament and the second end of the continuous cord extends from the second side of the center ornament.
5. A method of placing the adornment of claim 1 on a boot, the method comprising:
gathering the at least one third stretch cord with the at least one third stretch cords;
inserting the boot through the first loop so that the first loop encircles an ankle portion of the boot;
positioning the center ornament on the outside side of the boot near an ankle portion; and
pulling the at least one third stretch cord over a heel of the boot so that the at least one third stretch cord extends from the center ornament on one side of the boot, under the boot, and to the connector on the other side of the boot.
6. An adornment comprising:
a center ornament,
at least one first stretch cord extending from a first side of the center ornament and at least one second stretch extending from a second side of the center ornament wherein the first stretch cord and the second stretch cord attach to the connector thereby forming a first loop; and
at least one third stretch cord extending from the first side of the center ornament to the second side of the center ornament forming a second loop.
7. The adornment of claim 6 further comprising at least one fourth stretch cord extending from the first side of the connector to the second side of the connector forming a third loop.
8. The adornment of claim 6 wherein the first, second, third, and fourth stretch cord includes ornaments attached thereto.
9. The adornment of claim 6 wherein the at least one first stretch cord and the at least one second stretch cord are continuous where a first end of the continuous cord extends from the first side of the center ornament and the second end of the continuous cord extends from the second side of the center ornament.
10. A method of placing the adornment of claim 7 on a boot, the method comprising:
gathering the first loop and second loop together;
inserting the boot through the first loop and second loop so that the loops encircles an ankle portion of the boot;
positioning the center ornament in the front of the boot; and
pulling a portion of the at least one third stretch cord over the heel so that the at least one third stretch cord extends from the center ornament on the top of the boot, under the boot, and back around to the center ornament on the top of the boot; and
pulling a portion of the at least one forth stretch cord over the heel of the boot so that the at least one forth stretch cord extends from a first side of the connector from a heal portion of the boot, under the boot adjacent the heal, and back around the heal portion of the boot to a second side of the connector.
