Abstract

The present invention discloses a handheld push-up device with buffering and assisting functions including a base, an elastic unit and an extension rod. The base is installed with the elastic unit and the extension rod is installed on the elastic unit. When an exerciser uses both hands to press the extension rod downward, the direct impact force carried by the wrists can be reduced by the elastic unit, which avoids sport injuries and acts as a supportive force to a beginner or a person with an inferior physical strength.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • (a) Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a handheld push-up device with buffering and assisting functions, and more particularly to a push-up training device with the effects of elastic assistance and impact buffering.
  • (b) Description of the Prior Art
  • The push-up is a very popular exercise that can be taken at any time, and the most common one is an inverted U-shaped push-up training device. However, as a beginner's arms are unable to carry the body weight, he or she will often give up after using the device for a few times, thereby losing the meaning of exercising. On the other hand, if the exerciser reluctantly pushes the body up completely or pushes the body up halfway that his or her arms lose strength, the body will fall down immediately to the ground, causing damages and accidents.
  • There are vendors who have developed all kinds of auxiliary devices for the push-up exercises, such as the Taiwanese Patent Publication Nos. M256203, M421135, 201223589. For most of these push-up devices, the exerciser's chest or abdomen is abutted at a cushion seat, a cushion or a stand to support the body weight and reduce the body weight that the arms need to carry.
  • All of the abovementioned conventional push-up devices utilize the exerciser's weight to press down the cushion seat, the cushion or the stand to assist the push-up exercise, without completely using the arms' strength to resist the body weight. Although this kind of push-up device can achieve the exercise effect superficially, it cannot actually achieve the purpose of exercising the breast muscles. Moreover, taking the exercise is to enhance the physical strength and the cardiopulmonary function (lung capacity), and doing the push-up exercise is primarily to thicken the breast muscles.
  • Therefore, the most fundamental point of exercising is that when exercising, there should be absolutely no obstacles that press the chest and affect the cardiopulmonary function to avoid not breathing smoothly, feeling stuffed in the chest, hypoxia, vomiting. In addition, as the chest is pressed by an external force, the development of muscles is limited, which loses the meaning of exercising and results in more man-made sport injuries. Therefore, these prior arts need to be improved.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • It is therefore the primary object of the present invention to provide an innovative handheld push-up device with the functions of elastic assistance and impact buffering. The device applies to all age groups and can be adapted into various training methods and effects.
  • To enable a further understanding of the said objectives and the technological methods of the invention herein, the brief description of the drawings below is followed by the detailed description of the preferred embodiments.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective assembled view of the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective exploded view of the present invention.
  • FIG. 3 is a schematic view of a first embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 4 is a schematic view illustrating actions of the first embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 5 is a schematic view illustrating actions of a second embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 6 is a cutaway view of another embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 7 is a schematic view of the second embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 8 is a schematic view of a third embodiment of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Please refer to FIG. 1, the present invention comprises a base 10, an elastic unit 20 and an extension rod 30, wherein the elastic unit 20 is secured on the base 10, and the elastic unit 20 is installed with the extension rod 30 that can press the elastic unit 20 downward to assist the push-up exercise. Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, a first embodiment of the present invention comprises primarily a base 10, an elastic unit 20, an extension rod 30, a handle 40 and a cover 50, wherein an interior of a cylinder 11 inside the base 10 is provided with a containing space 111 to emplace the elastic unit 20, an upper end of the elastic unit 20 is pressed by the extension rod 30, the extension rod 30 is transfixed into a through-hole 12 of the base 10, a seat 31 which is latched at a bottom of the extension rod 30 provides for emplacing an upper part of the elastic unit 20, and a latch block 32 at a top end of the extension rod 30 is latched into a latch hole 41 at a bottom end of the handle 40. When the base 10 is to be combined with the cover 50 at a bottom part thereof, the bottom part of the elastic unit 20 is sheathed on a bump 51 at a center of a top part of the cover 50 to balance the elastic unit 20.
  • Referring to FIG. 4, when utilizing the device, an exerciser can use both hands to hold the handles 40 downward to operate the push-up device with the front or back side facing the ground. Referring to FIG. 5, the present invention can be used as a push-up device, and can be also used to train the arm strength of the exerciser with one hand holding an end of the handle 40, the other hand holding an end of the cover 50, and both hands pressing inward.
  • As each exerciser has different weight, the gravity that he or she can carry is different either. If the exerciser is heavier, the cover 50 can be separated with the base 10 to replace a stronger elastic unit 20 in the extension rod 30. Referring to FIG. 6, another elastic unit 20′ can be added at an inner (or outer) side of the elastic unit 20 in the containing space 111 in the cylinder 11 of the base 10, acting like a “ring in a ring” double spring structure, to increase resistance of the elastic unit 20.
  • Referring to FIG. 7, it shows a second embodiment of the present invention, wherein a base 60 is in an inverted T shape, a center at a top end of the base 60 is provided with a bump 612, an interior of a cylinder 61 at a center of the base 60 is provided with a containing space 611, an interior of the containing space 611 is installed with an elastic unit 70, the elastic unit 70 is sheathed on the bump 612 to be supported without forming an imbalance condition by distortion or deformation, and an upper part of the elastic unit 70 inside the cylinder 61 of the base 60 is installed with an extension rod 71 in a T shape. The exerciser can press the extension rod 71 downward by a single hand, allowing the extension rod 71 to press the elastic unit 70, thereby assisting the push-up exercise.
  • Referring to FIG. 8, it shows a third embodiment of the present invention. A base 80 is a two-seat unit, each one being in an L shape. An interior of a cylinder 81 of each base 80 is provided respectively with a containing space 811. An interior of the containing space 811 is installed respectively with one elastic unit 90; whereas, a rod unit 911 at each of two ends of an inverted U-shaped extension rod 91 is inserted respectively into the containing space 811 of the cylinder 81 of the base 80. The rod unit 911 can press at the elastic unit 90. The exerciser presses the extension rod 91 downward by a single hand, allowing the rod unit 911 of the extension rod 91 to press at the elastic unit 90, thereby assisting the push-up exercise.
  • Accordingly, the present invention is provided with the effects of elastic assistance and impact buffering and can be used for all age groups. With the present invention, a variety of training methods for exercising the arm strength can be implemented and a supportive force can be provided to a beginner or a person with an inferior physical strength, preventing sport injuries that result from a prolonged heavy pressure to the wrists.
  • It is to be understood that the above description and drawings are only used for illustrating some embodiments of the present invention, not intended to limit the scope thereof. Any variation and deviation from the above description and drawings should be included in the scope of the present invention.
