Abstract

A garment having a center seam for slimming and shaping the figure of a wearer from the waistline down. A waistline control panel and an elastic lifter sewn into the center seam of the back of the garment give a pull to the center back creating a lift to the buttocks area and defining the derriere of the garment.

Description

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims the benefit of Provisional Patent Application No. 61/611,245, filed Mar. 15, 2012.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to the construction of pants, particularly ladies pants, that provides an enhanced defined figure that is instantly slimmed and shaped from the waistline down.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

There is a great need for pants that flatter the figure. In a world that values physical appearance, many individuals do what they can to maximize their figure and wear clothing that accentuate and display their bodies. Many different types of pants have been employed to alter or support parts of the lower body. However, such pants may involve parts that need adjustment in order to make the pants function as desired or may be padded in a manner that decreases comfort. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 4,805,243 discloses a padded pant construction for athletic purposes. However, the pant merely pads the crotch area which may make the pants uncomfortable for non-athletic use. In another example, U.S. Pat. No. Re. 36,905 discloses a figure enhancing garment. However, the garment requires a complicated system of pulleys and strings to adjust the pants. U.S. Pat. No. 6,892,399 makes reference to the two foregoing patents and describes a woman's pant's construction with a crotch panel for slimming the appearance of the woman's thighs, using a quadrilaterally-shaped crotch panel.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In the present invention, instead of using crotch pads or panels or pulley strings, front and rear Spandex (or similar) control panels are provided along with an elastic lifter in the crotch region to provide an enhanced defined figure that is instantly slimmed and shaped from the waistline down. Although legging and straight leg type pants have been in fashion, there has not been to my knowledge and research any type of outer wear pant that has been designed and constructed like the present invention where the wearer receives an all around “panoramic” type view of a more enhanced defined figure that is instantly slimmed and shaped from the waistline down.

FIG. 1 is an elevated inside view of the front of a pant constructed in accordance with the invention; and

FIG. 2 is an elevated inside view of the rear of a pant constructed in accordance with the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

When wearing a pant constructed in accordance with the invention, the wearer can look much slimmer in the stomach area and the special cut to the back along with the unique construction actually lifts the buttocks and gives a shapely, defined appearance to the buttocks area. The high grade of cotton spandex holds it in shape and slims down the inner and outer thigh areas.
Referring to the Figures, in a particular embodiment, the outer fabric of the pant 10 is compose of an American made 2-way stretch cotton fabric of 14 oz cotton/spandex blend of 80.68% cotton and 19.32% spandex. FIG. 1 shows the inside view of the front of the pant 10 and FIG. 2 shows the inside view of the rear of the pant 10. The pant 10 is formed with a special lining created with a smooth shinny side and a dull side made up of 80/20 nylon/spandex. The dull side is hidden inside to smooth out unwanted bulges and the shinny side is exposed and is felt against the skin for comfort and control.
There is no waist band to the pant. The pant 10 itself can form around the waist without a bulky waistline. There is an elongate hidden elastic control lining 11 about ¼ inch in width formed along the top edge of a front section 12 on the front 14 of the garment and on a back section 16 on the back 18 of the garment, sandwiched inside and running around the circumference of the waistline. The waistline panel is longer in the center front to hold in the stomach. The sides at the waist are cut at an angle 20 so that it does not create a “muffin top” to the wearer. The front is designed to hold in the tummy area and lower midriff without creating an overflow or “muffin top” to the wearer. The inside lining goes around the front and to the back of the pant ending in a lower “V” shape 22 which accentuates the buttocks area. The “V” design at the buttocks area consist of an elongate strip of clear elastic 24, about 4 inches long and about ½ inch wide that is sewn into the center seam of the back, serving as a lifter strip to give a pull to the center back creating a lift to the buttocks area and also defines the derriere. Each pant leg has decorative stitching 26 at its bottom.
In a test trail of women who have tried on pant of this invention, each has seen a visible difference in a slimming and support of the waist, stomach and lower midriff area. They have been amazed at the lift to the buttocks area. They love the lift and the definition that the garment gives to the buttocks area along with the slimming of the tummy and inner and out thigh area.
Although the present invention has been described in connection with the preferred embodiments, it is to be understood that modifications and variations may be utilized without departing from the principles and scope of the invention, as those skilled in the art will readily understand. Accordingly, such modifications may be practiced within the scope of the following claims.

Claims

1. A garment having a center seam for slimming and shaping the figure of a wearer from the waistline down, comprising:

a waistline control panel; and

an elastic lifter sewn into the center seam of the back of the garment to give a pull to the center back creating a lift to the buttocks area and defining the derriere of the garment.

2. The garment of claim 1 in which an elongate hidden elastic control lining is sandwiched inside and running around the circumference of the waistline of the garment.

3. The garment of claim 1 in which the waistline control panel is longer in the center front to hold in the stomach.

4. The garment of claim 1 in which the sides at the waist are cut at an angle so that it does not create an overflow top to the wearer.

5. The garment of claim 1 in which the inside lining goes around the front and to the back of the pant ending in a “V” design which accentuates the buttocks area.

6. The garment of claim 1 containing no waist band.
