Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a makeup removal device to precisely target the area of makeup removal without disturbing nearby satisfactorily applied areas.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • A common daily routine for many women, and some men, is to apply makeup before they leave for work, run errands or are seen by others. The amount of makeup varies from user to user depending on their experience, desire for coverage and overall look that they are trying to accomplish. For example, a stay-at-home mom may apply minimal makeup before beginning their day with kids, while a stage performer may spend a great deal of time perfecting their look before they step into the spotlight. Either way smudges or imperfections are bothersome regardless of the amount of makeup work. If a mistake occurs, the user must then determine whether they can cover the smudge or if they must completely remove the makeup and start again. Typically a person may use their finger to wipe away a spot or quickly grab a piece of tissue or a cotton swab for corrections. Many times after trying to correct the mistakes the smudge simply becomes worse and the user is forced to clear all makeup and begin again.
  • Recently, some devices have been developed to assist a user when correcting their makeup. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 5,509,742 by Grace M. Balzarini discloses a mascara applicator and mascara removal device wherein at an opposing end of a mascara applicator is a receiver and applicator for makeup removal. The receiver holds a reservoir of makeup remover where the applicator spot treats blemished makeup areas after the mascara applicator is used. Alternatively, U.S. Pat. No. 5,996,780 by Vivien K. Gurrera discloses a cosmetic apparatus wherein individually wrapped cotton swabs are saturated with an anti-aging cream and a makeup remover. The swabs allow the user to remove makeup from specific areas. A common problem when using cotton swabs is that they shift, unravel or distort during use, thereby making the swab difficult for small spot treatments.
  • Therefore, it would be desirable in the art to provide a makeup removal tool that is utilizes the convenience of a cotton swab but without distorting upon use. It would also be beneficial in the art to provide a makeup removal tool that is portable and easy to user for the users on the go.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the prior art, the general purpose of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic correction tool, configured to include all of the advantages of the prior art, and to overcome the drawbacks inherent therein.
  • Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic correction tool that utilizes a cotton swab like device with an added cloth outer layer to easily and effectively apply makeup remover to a user's skin.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a double-sided cosmetic correction tool to two ends of use.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic correction tool individually wrapped for portability.
  • To achieve the above objects, in an aspect of the present invention, a cosmetic correction tool is disclosed comprising a stick, where the stick extends between a first end and a second end; an absorbent swab positioned at the first end, where the absorbent swab absorbs a liquid; and a wiping layer covering the absorbent swab, where the wiping layer applies the liquid against a user's skin and where the wiping layer ensures that the absorbent swab remains in position during use. The liquid is a makeup remover to allow the user to spot treat smudges on the user's face after applying makeup. The absorbent swab and the wiping layer may be on the second end to provide the user with a double-sided tool.
