- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates generally to a tension exerciser, and more particularly to an innovative one which is designed with an elastic limit function.
- 2. Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 37 CFR 1.98
- The tension exerciser referred hereto is a fitness device that is specifically designed with a fixed end, elastic section and handle, etc. When said tension exerciser is used, it is mounted onto a fixed object (e.g.: door plank, partition wall and rack body) by its fixed end, and the user could hold the handle for pulling and stretching so as to make physical exercises and realize fitness effect via the elastic resistance generated by the elastic section. Due to its comparative advantages, such as simple construction, small volume, portability and retractility over other treadmills and exercise bikes, such tension exerciser with excellent fitness effect is now widely used by many customers in a broad market.
- Some shortcomings and problems of existing tension exerciser are still observed during actual applications. For example, the elastic section of conventional tension exerciser is designed with a maximum elastic stretching tolerance, or the pulling force of many users could reach said maximum elastic stretching tolerance. However, in the event of excessive force applied by the user, this will cause rapidly the elasticity fatigue or even rupture of the tension exerciser. In particular, upon rupture, the rebounding of the elastic material will possibly endanger the users. If the elastic section is under high tension state for a long period of time, elastic fatigue will be caused rapidly by excessive use, shortening the service life of the tension exerciser.
- If the user intends to control the pulling force to extend the service life of the tension exerciser, it is very difficult for the user to find out the elastic setting limit of the tension exerciser and control accurately the force.
- Thus, to overcome the aforementioned problems of the prior art, it would be an advancement if the art to provide an improved structure that can significantly improve the efficacy.
- Therefore, the inventor has provided the present invention of practicability after deliberate design and evaluation based on years of experience in the production, development and design of related products.
- Based on the innovative structural design of the present invention wherein the tension exerciser with elastic limit function comprises: a weaving tape, handle, elastic part and an elastic limiter, the extension of the elastic part of the present invention could be limited within the maximum load range via the elastic limiter, so as to prevent elasticity fatigue or even rupture of the elastic part, extend the tension exerciser's service life and promoting the operating security.
- The improvements brought about by this invention are as follow:
- Based on the structural design wherein an adjustable member is located on the elastic limiter formed by the bending section, the stretched length and stroke of the elastic limiter could be adjusted to meet diversified user requirements.
- Based on the structural design wherein a secondary handle is set onto the tape body of the weaving tape, but not connected with the elastic part and the elastic limiter for another operating mode for users, when the user holds the secondary handle for pulling, the tape body of the weaving tape is directly pulled without elastic stretching effect, to as to meet diversified user requirements.
- Based on the structural design of said hook-shaped body and the second hook-shaped body, two different installation modes (with or without elasticity) could be provided to the users and adapted to the elastic part for flexible operation.
- Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
-

FIGS. 1-3 depict preferred embodiments of the improved tension exerciser of the present invention with elastic limit function, which, however, are provided for only explanatory objective for patent claims. - Said tension exerciser comprises a
weaving tape 10 without stretching elasticity, which is made of weaving materials and defined into a flexible elongated band pattern. Theweaving tape 10 comprises atape body 11, afixed part 12 and at least an operatingend 13. Of which, thefixed part 12 is provided with apositioning member 14 for positioning onto an object (e.g.: door plank, partition wall and rack body). - At least a
handle 20 is connected with the operatingend 13 of theweaving tape 10, allowing the users to hold it for pulling. - At least an
elastic part 30 is connected elastically between thetape body 11 of theweaving tape 10 and the operatingend 13, so that elastic resistance occurs via theelastic part 30 when the users hold thehandle 20 for pulling. - At least an
elastic limiter 40 is connected between thetape body 11 of theweaving tape 10 and the operatingend 13. Theelastic limiter 40 enables the extension of theelastic part 30 to be limited within the maximum load range, so as to prevent elasticity fatigue or even rupture of theelastic part 30. - Referring to
FIG. 1 , saidelastic limiter 40 is made of abending section 41 directly formed by thetape body 11 of theweaving tape 10, and theelastic part 30 is designed into a rope or board pattern, so that both ends of theelastic part 30 are separately connected with the head end and tail end of thebending section 41. Referring toFIG. 2 , when the user holds thehandle 20 for pulling, theelastic part 30 is extended, and theelastic limiter 40 formed by thebending section 41 is driven to be straightened. When theelastic limiter 40 is already straightened, theelastic part 30 cannot be continuously stretched, thus, the extension ofelastic part 30 will be limited. In the present embodiment, anadjustable member 42 could be set between the head end and tail end of theelastic limiter 40 formed by thebending section 41, so as to adjust the stretched length and stroke of theelastic limiter 40. - Referring to
FIG. 1 , the operatingend 13 is separately set onto two ends of theweaving tape 10 to formdouble handles 20, so that thefixed part 12 with thepositioning member 14 is set on the middle section of theweaving tape 10. - Based on the above-specified structural design, the tension exerciser of the present invention is operated as shown in
FIG. 3 , wherein as for said structure withdouble handles 20, the middle of thetape body 11 of theweaving tape 10 is located onto an object B (top edge of a door plank in the figure) via thepositioning member 14 on thefixed part 12, so that an anchor point can be acquired. Then, the user could separately hold twohandles 20 for pulling by two hands (marked by arrow L1). In this process, theelastic part 30 is stretched elastically, generating appropriate resistance to achieve the fitness efficacy in exercising the user's muscle strength. More importantly, as an amazing innovative feature of the present invention, theelastic limiter 40 enables the extension ofelastic part 30 to be limited within the maximum load range, so as to prevent elasticity fatigue or even rupture of theelastic part 30. - Referring to
FIG. 4 , the operatingend 13 can also be set onto one end of theweaving tape 10 to form asingle handle 20, so that thefixed part 12 with thepositioning member 14 is set onto the other end of the weaving tape. -
FIG. 5 depicts another preferred embodiment of the elastic limiter, wherein theelastic part 30 is also designed into a rope or board pattern. Theelastic limiter 40 is made of acorrugated pipe sleeve 43 arranged between thetape body 11 of theweaving tape 10 and the operatingend 13. Thecorrugated pipe sleeve 43 is sleeved on the periphery of theelastic part 30. Thus, when the user holds thehandle 20 for pulling, referring toFIGS. 8 and 9 , theelastic part 30 is extended and the surface ofcorrugated pipe sleeve 43 is converted from corrugated to stretched state (marked by arrow L2). When the surface ofcorrugated pipe sleeve 43 is stretched, theelastic part 30 cannot be continuously straightened, thus, the extension of theelastic part 30 is limited. In the preferred embodiment, asecondary handle 50 is also set onto thetape body 11 of the weavingtape 10, but not connected with theelastic part 30 and theelastic limiter 40, thus providing another operating mode for the users. When a user holds thesecondary handle 50 for pulling, thetape body 11 of the weavingtape 10 is directly pulled without elastic stretching effect. - Moreover, in said preferred embodiment, a length adjusting part 15 (as shown in
FIG. 5 ) could be set on thetape body 11 of the weavingtape 10, so as to adjust the length of the weavingtape 10 to achieve different effects. - Of which, the positioning
member 14 located on the fixed part 12 (disclosed inFIG. 4 ) is only designed into a hook-shapedbody 141. Or, referring toFIGS. 1 and 5 , the positioningmember 14 also consists of a hook-shapedbody 141 and a second hook-shapedbody 142 with anelastic stretching member 143. Of which, acorrugated sleeving kit 144 is set on the periphery of theelastic stretching member 143. When the surface of thecorrugated sleeving kit 144 is converted from corrugated to stretched state, the extension of theelastic stretching member 143 is limited securely. Based on the design of preferred embodiment, two different installation modes (with or without elasticity) could be provided for the users for flexible operation via the design of two types of hooking patterns (the hook-shapedbody 141 and the second hook-shaped body 142). Referring toFIG. 6 , when the tension exerciser is used in a manner that the hook-shapedbody 141 without elasticity is taken as the positioning mode, only the elastic force generated by the elastic part 30 (marked inFIG. 5 ) is available. Referring also toFIG. 7 , when the elastic hook-shapedbody 142 is taken as the positioning mode, the elastic force generated by theelastic part 30 and the elastic stretching member 143 (as shown inFIG. 5 ) is available, so different elastic effects could be achieved.
