Abstract
A heat dissipation device includes a frame and a number of fans mounted to the frame. The frame includes a base and a number of rods extending from a center of the base in a same direction. The base defines a through hole in each of four corners. Each rod defines a slot adjacent to a distal end of the rod away from the base. Each fan includes a board defining a through hole in each of four corners. The rods extend through the corresponding through holes of the fans. A fixing member is engaged in the slots of the posts, to sandwich the fans together with the base.
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present disclosure relates to a heat dissipation device.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Racks used for fixing fans in computers will usually only accommodate fans of a particular size, which is inconvenient.
- Many aspects of the present embodiments can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, all the views are schematic, and like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded, isometric view of an exemplary embodiment of a heat dissipation device. -
FIG. 2 is an assembled, isometric view ofFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 3 shows a state of the heat dissipation device ofFIG. 2 mounted in a chassis. - The disclosure, including the accompanying drawings, is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 , an exemplary embodiment of a heat dissipation device includes aframe 20 and fourfans 10 mounted to theframe 20. - The
frame 20 includes abase 22 and afixing member 30. - The
base 22 is substantially square-shaped, and defines four throughholes 220 in four corners and an opening 26 in a center of thebase 22. Across-shaped bracket 260 is arranged in the opening 26 and connected to sides of thebase 22 with corresponding ends of thebracket 260. Thebracket 260 divides the opening 26 into four holes (not labeled). A substantially square-shaped supportingportion 262 is formed in a center of thebracket 260. Fourrods 24 extend from four corners of the supportingportion 262, respectively, and eachrod 24 defines aslot 240 in a circumference of therod 24, adjacent to a distal end of therod 24. Aholding piece 264 is formed at a conjunction of each side of thebase 22 and the corresponding end of thebracket 260. Two spacedprotrusions 266 protrude from each supportingpiece 264. - The
fixing member 30 is a substantially square-shaped elastic loop. An opening 300 is defined in one side of thefixing member 30. Atab 302 extends out from one of the sides bounding the opening 300. - Each
fan 10 includes two spacedboards 12. Eachboard 12 defines fourfixing holes 14 in four corners, respectively. - Referring to
FIG. 2 , in assembly, eachfan 10 is aligned with a corresponding hole of theopening 26 of theframe 20. Therods 24 respectively extend through twocorresponding fixing holes 14 of theboards 12. The distal ends of therods 24 extend out of theboard 12 away from thebase 22. Theslots 240 of therods 24 are exposed through theboard 12 away from thebase 22. Theprotrusions 266 extend through thecorresponding fixing holes 14 of the board adjacent to thebase 22. The throughholes 220 align with the rest of thefixing holes 14 of thefan 10. The side defining the opening 300 of thefixing member 30 is deformed to expand the opening 300, thereby the fixingmember 30 fits about the distal ends of therods 24 of theframe 20. Thefixing member 30 is released to be restored, with the sides of thefixing member 30 engaging in theslots 240 of thecorresponding rods 24, to prevent thefans 10 from disengaging from theframe 20. Thefans 10 are sandwiched between thebase 22 and thefixing member 30. - Referring to
FIG. 3 , fourfasteners 40 extend through achassis 50, the throughholes 220 of thebase 22, and are received in thecorresponding fixing holes 14 of thefans 10, to mount the heat dissipation device to thechassis 50. - In disengaging the
fans 10, thefasteners 40 are released, and thetab 302 of thefixing member 30 is deformed to expand the opening 300. Thefans 10 are readily disengaged from theframe 20. - It is believed that the present embodiments and their advantages will be understood from the foregoing description, and they will be apparent that various changes may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the description or sacrificing all of their material advantages, the examples hereinbefore described merely being exemplary embodiments.
