Abstract

The present invention is a clothes hanger. In particular, the present invention is directed to a clothes hanger with a hook for, inter alia, hats. The preferred embodiment of the hanger comprises a hook that supports a hanger body with a cross bar. The hanger body has two hanger arms that extend from a vertex. A secondary hook is mounted to the vertex and extends perpendicular to the vertex. The hanger also preferably has a clip tag hung on the hook and over the hanger body. The clip tag preferably has a loop portion for hanging on the hook, a tag portion suspended from the loop and a spring-loaded clip mounted to the tag. The spring-loaded clip could be used to secure a garrison cover to the tag.

Description

    TECHNICAL FIELD
  • The present invention is a clothes hanger. In particular, the present invention is directed to a clothes hanger with a hook for, inter alia, hats.
  • BACKGROUND ART
  • A number of different types of clothes hangers exist. However, these hangers often do not provide a mechanism for pairing hats with the clothes on the hanger. Accordingly, a clothes hanger is needed that can pair a hat or cover with a set of clothes such as a military or police uniform.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is a clothes hanger. In particular, the present invention is directed to a clothes hanger with a hook for, inter alia, hats.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The objects and features of the present invention, which are believed to be novel, are set forth with particularity in the appended claims. The present invention, both as to its organization and manner of operation, together with further objects and advantages, may best be understood by reference to the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings.
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective front view of a preferred embodiment of the invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective front view of a preferred embodiment of the invention with a clip tag;
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective front view of a preferred embodiment of the invention with a clip tag holding a garrison cover;
  • FIG. 4 is a front view of a preferred embodiment of the invention with a shirt hung on the invention;
  • FIG. 5 is a front view (with a partial cut-away view) of a preferred embodiment of the invention with a shirt and hat hung on the invention;
  • FIG. 6 is a front view of a preferred embodiment of the invention with a shirt hung on the invention;
  • FIG. 7 is a front view (with a partial cut-away view) of a preferred embodiment of the invention with a shirt and hat hung on the invention; and,
  • FIG. 8 is a front view (with a partial cut-away view) of a preferred embodiment of the invention with a hat hung on the invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • [1] The following description is provided to enable any person skilled in the art to make and use the invention and sets forth the best modes contemplated by the inventor of carrying out his invention. Various modifications, however, will remain readily apparent to those skilled in the art, since the general principles of the present invention have been defined herein specifically to provide a clothes hanger.
  • [2] Referring now to FIG. 1, a preferred embodiment of clothes hanger is shown. The clothes hanger 10 is shown hung from a bar 200 by a hook 50. The hanger body 20 is suspended from the hook 50. The hanger body 20 has hanger arms 24 and 26, each extending from a vertex 22. A cross bar 40 is shown suspended between the hanger arms 24 and 26.
  • [3] A secondary hook 30 is mounted at the vertex 22 of the hanger body 20. The secondary hook 30 generally extends perpendicularly from the vertex 22 of the hanger body 20. The secondary hook 30 preferably has two prongs 32 and 34 for use with multiple items. The secondary hook 30 preferably extends far enough from the hanger body so that a hat or cover 100 can be hung on the secondary hook 30 while a coat or shirt 300 is hung on the hanger body 20. It is also possible to hang pants from the cross bar 40 (not shown.) FIG. 2 shows a preferred embodiment of the invention where a shirt 300 is hung on the hanger body 20 and a uniform cover 100 is hung on the secondary hook 30 as shown in the partial cut-away view. Alternately, as shown in FIG. 3, a hat 100 can be hung on the secondary hook 30 without a shirt 300 on the hanger body 20. This preferred embodiment allows a user to store a hat or cover 100 with a particular set of clothes such as a police or military uniform.
  • [4] An alternative preferred embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. 4. As shown in FIG. 4, a clip tag 60 is hung over the hook 50. The clip tag 60 preferably comprises a loop portion 62 that hangs on the hook 50. A tag portion 64 is preferably suspended from the loop portion 62. A clip 66 is mounted to the tag portion 64. Preferably, the clip 66 can support items on the hanger 10 such as a garrison cover 100 to keep such items paired on a single hanger 10 with a particular set of clothing. The clip tag 60 also allows the garrison cover 100 to be hung from the hanger 10 to prevent wrinkles or soiling. The clip 60 is preferably spring-loaded. FIGS. 5, 6, 7 and 8 show a preferred embodiment of the invention in use.
  • [5] Thus, an improved clothes hanger is described above that has an added hook and clip tag for storing a hat with a set of clothing. In each of the above embodiments, the different positions and structures of the present invention are described separately in each of the embodiments. However, it is the full intention of the inventors of the present invention that the separate aspects of each embodiment described herein may be combined with the other embodiments described herein. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that adaptations and modifications of the just-described preferred embodiment can be configured without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention. Therefore, it is to be understood that, within the scope of the appended claims, the invention may be practiced other than as specifically described herein.
