' y 2 Claims. (C1. 225-16)' This invention relates to improvementsin portable refrigerating and dispensingdevices for `use indispensing beverages such as beer.
It is the objectofthis invention to produce a '25 portable, device that can-be employed for 4transporting and dispensing beverages and which shall v vbe ,so constructed that it can be easily filled and which shall also permit the container to be surrounded with ice, or other refrigerant so as to maintain-the contents at the proper low temperature. l n y yAnother object of this invention is to produce `a device in whichairpressure can easily be ap- .15 plied to the liquid so-that it will flow fromfthe l Vcontainer whenever it is to be dispensed.
` A still further object of the invention isy to produce a device in which the container is located in. a heat `insulated box and vsecured theretoin such a way that it can be readily removed, but which, when in place, will be held in assembled position invrespect to the box.
A still further object is to produce a device in which a removable drip pan is secured to the outf j y v cylindrical shapeandthe ends 8 and 9 are pref--` erably flat. Secured to the linside* of twoopposside of the refrigerator box, infpositionto catch anydrip that may take place.
The above and other objects that may appear as I the description proceedsare attained by. meansof arconstruction and an arrangement of .parts that Ywill now be describedy in detail, and for this purpose referencewill be hadto the accompanying l drawing in which ythe preferred embodiment of the invention` has been illustrated, and in which: Fig.- l-is a vertical section through 'theheat' insulated box and shows the container in place therein, a portionof the container being broken away to better disclose its construction; Fig. 2` is a sectiontaken on line 2-2, Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 is a section taken on line 3-3, Fig. 1;
and
Fig. 4 is a ing it removed from the heat insulating box.
In the drawing the cylindrical container'l has beenA shown as enclosedv in a box 'comprising' cause it is theA intention to employ ice for cooling the contents of the container. The cover is constructed in the saine manner as the walls and is of a size to t inside of the box as shown in Fig. 1.
A flange 4 is secured to the outer edge of they cover and rests on top of the box in a manner side elevation of the container showclearly apparent from the drawing. The upper surface of thecover; is flat and is suitable for use asa tray on whichglasses can be supported When the dispenser is in use. The sides lfof thebox are each providedwith"oneiorlmorej hooks I8, that .serve to receive the anges I1- of the drip pans or shelves I6. vY; These vshelves caribe constructedin.

One side ofthe boxy is; provided withY an opening directly above yone shelf and extending through this openingy is-ashort in placeby any other suitable means, fAjfaucet I4 is secured tor the outer erid of pipelS. The

which a threaded coupling member l2"coopera`t'e:s.
`The kupperk surface ofthe bottom 2v is provided with a roundl pan-likemember I3 having an outingsides 1 are supports 2l, that areprovided at their inner endswith arcuate sections which encan'be openedand closed by means of a valve member22. Where thecontaineris of sufficient vsizeto` hold several gallons of liquid, for example three gallons, eachpetcock has a pipe 2 l opening .at a different level, the lower oneis located at such a level that when the liquid is up to this gage the outer surface of the container and hold itin upright position. The top of the container :has beenvshown as provided with three spaced openingseach of; which has a petcocl:.2l`V that level, there will be, one gallon in the container, v 'and when it is up to the level of the lower end of the second pipe, there will be two gallons in thel container. The lower end of the other pipe is located at the three gallon level. When filling the container, the 'petcock corresponding to the number of gallons desired is left open and rwhen the liquid reaches this level, it will iowV out thus g indicating that the desired quantity of liquid has beenintroduced into the container.
For the purpose of supplying pressure to the container it is provided with a pump 24 and a pressure gauge .25 that designates the pressurev 'minates nearthe bottom as shown inFig. 1.
