Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a dumb bell, more particularly to an inertial dumb bell having an inner barrel disposed in an outer barrel and capable of sliding relative to the outer barrel, thereby providing a shaking training mode.
  • 2. Related Art
  • For various gymnastic apparatuses commonly available in the current market, for example, a bicycle gymnastic apparatus and an arm strength trainer, the purchasing cost is high and the volume is rather large, such that these gymnastic apparatuses are not quite suitable for common family use. However, a dumb bell, having a small volume, being easy to store, having a low price, being not limited to the space, and being capable of carrying out the weight training of multiple parts of the body at any time, has become one of the most popular gymnastic apparatuses among users.
  • However, most of the conventional dumb bells are integrally formed and have a fixed shape, such that when the dumb bell is held in an arm lifting movement, in most cases, the center of gravity of the dumb bell is at a central position of the handhold. Therefore, the applicable gymnastic training mode is fixed, and the function of the dumb bell is limited; as a result, the user may easily lose interests, and the training effect is lowered.
  • Accordingly, in order to eliminate the above disadvantages, and make the inertial dumb bell not only provide a hold-lifting training mode, but also provide a shaking training mode to improve the delight in use and achieve different degrees of body-building effects, the present invention is proposed after years of experience and continuous research of the inventor.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary object of the present invention is to provide an inertial dumb bell, wherein an inner barrel capable of sliding relative to an outer barrel is disposed in the outer barrel, such that when a user shakes the outer barrel, a training load is increased through a transient acceleration generated by sliding of the inner barrel, thereby improving the delight in use and enhancing the training effect.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide an inertial dumb bell, wherein an inner barrel is disposed in an outer barrel, and vents are respectively disposed on two sides of the outer barrel, such that when the inner barrel slides and blocks the vents on one side of the outer barrel, a buffering effect is formed, so as to prevent the inner barrel from generating a strong impact on the outer barrel, thereby enhancing the training effect and ensuring the use safety.
  • In order to achieve the objectives, the present invention provides an inertial dumb bell, which includes an outer barrel and an inner barrel. The outer barrel has two sealed ends, and includes a barrel body, a front end face, and a back end face. At least one first vent is disposed at a position of the barrel body near the front end face, and at least one second vent is disposed at a position of the barrel body near the back end face. The inner barrel is accommodated in the outer barrel in a relatively slidable manner, in which front and back ends of the inner barrel are sealed, a length of the inner barrel is smaller than a distance between the first vent and the second vent, and at least one balance weight member is disposed in the inner barrel.
  • In practice, the inertial dumb bell of the present invention further includes a first buffer and a second buffer. The first buffer is positioned between the front end face of the outer barrel and the front end of the inner barrel, and the second buffer is positioned between the back end face of the outer barrel and the back end of the inner barrel.
  • Other objects, advantages and novel features of the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a part of elements according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a partial combined cross-sectional view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a combined cross-sectional view when a balance weight member is accommodated in an inner barrel according to the present invention; and
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 are views of a using state according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 show a preferred embodiment of an inertial dumb bell 1 according to the present invention. Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the inertial dumb bell 1 includes an outer barrel 2, an inner barrel 3, a first buffer 4, and a second buffer 5.
  • The outer barrel 2 includes a barrel body 21, a front head sleeve 22, and a back head sleeve 23. The barrel body 21 is in the shape of a round tube, is hollow inside, and has a front end and a back end opposite to the front end. The front head sleeve 22 and the back head sleeve 23 are respectively a round plastic sleeve having an opening, the front head sleeve 22 is fitted on the front end of the barrel body 21, and the back head sleeve 23 is fitted on the back end of the barrel body 21, so as to seal the front and back ends of the barrel body 21, and form a front end face 221 and a back end face 231 on the front and back ends of the barrel body 21. Further, several round holes penetrating the barrel body 21 are formed at positions near the front end face 221, in which the round holes are used as first vents 24; and several round holes penetrating the barrel body 21 are formed at positions near the back end face 231, in which the round holes are used as second vents 25.
  • The inner barrel 3 includes an inner barrel body 31, a front pipe plug 32, and a back pipe plug 33. The inner barrel body 31 is in the shape of a round tube, and is hollow inside for accommodating a sandbag used as a balance weight member 6 (as shown in FIG. 3), in which the balance weight member 6 may also be an iron cube. The inner barrel body 31 has a front end and a back end opposite to the front end. The front pipe plug 32 is fitted on the front end of the inner barrel body 31, and the back pipe plug 33 is fitted on the back end of the inner barrel body 31, so as to seal the front and back ends of the inner barrel 3, such that a length of the inner barrel 3 is smaller than a distance between the first vent 24 and the second vent 25.
  • Further, a back end of the front end face 221 of the outer barrel 2 is combined with a round foam used as the first buffer 4, and the first buffer 4 is positioned between the front end face 221 of the outer barrel 2 and the front pipe plug 32 of the inner barrel 3; and a front end of the back end face 231 of the outer barrel 2 is combined with another round foam used as the second buffer 5, and the second buffer 5 is positioned between the back end face 231 of the outer barrel 2 and the back pipe plug 33 of the inner barrel 3. During the implementation, the first buffer 4 and the second buffer 5 may also be springs, rubbers, plastics, or compressed air, having a buffering effect as well.
  • FIG. 4 is a view of a using state of the inertial dumb bell 1 according to the present invention. Referring to FIG. 4, the inner barrel 3 is accommodated in the outer barrel 2, and the inner barrel 3 may slide relative to the outer barrel 2. When a user holds the outer barrel 2 and shakes the outer barrel 2 forward, through the weight of the inner barrel 3 and the weight of the balance weight member 6, air in the front end of the front pipe plug 32 may be compressed and is dissipated outward from the first vents 24 of the outer barrel 2, and at the same time, air out of the outer barrel 2 enters the outer barrel 2 from the second vents 25. As shown in FIG. 5, when the inner barrel 3 continues sliding forward, a barrel wall of the front end of the inner barrel 3 seals the first vents 24, such that the residual air of the front end of the inner barrel 3 forms a buffering effect, and in combination with an effect of the first buffer 4, the front pipe plug 32 of the inner barrel 3 is prevented from generating a strong impact on the front end face 221 of the outer barrel 2. Similarly, when the outer barrel 2 is shaken backward, through the air of the back end of the inner barrel 3 and an effect of the second buffer 5, the back pipe plug 33 of the inner barrel 3 is prevented from impacting the back end face 231 of the outer barrel 2.
  • Therefore, the present invention has the following advantages:
  • 1. A hold-lifting training mode can be provided, and through an acceleration generated by sliding of an inner barrel, a training load may be increased, so as to provide a shaking training mode, thereby effectively improving the delight in use and enhancing the training effect.
  • 2. When the shaking training mode is performed, air and buffers form a buffering effect, to prevent the inner barrel from generating a strong impact on one end of an outer barrel, thereby smoothing and stabilizing the use process, and ensuring the use safety.
  • According to the aforementioned disclosure, the present invention can surely achieve the expected objectives to provide an inertial dumb bell, capable of providing not only a hold-lifting training mode but also a shaking training mode, thereby improving the delight in use and achieving different degrees of body-building effects, which undoubtedly has the practical value. Thus, the patent application is filed according to the law.
  • The invention being thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
