Abstract
A razor holder is adapted to be affixed to the outer surface of a conventional shaving cream dispenser. The holder includes a flexible sheet having a magnetic planar, inner surface. The magnetic sheet is mounted to the outer wall of the shaving cream dispenser. A conically configured housing is positioned on the outer surface of the sheet. The housing is designed to contain a handheld razor for storage therein.
Description
- This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 61/213,604, filed Jun. 24, 2009.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention generally relates to shaving accessories, and more specifically to a razor holder for housing a hand-held razor, which holder can be removably attached to a conventional shaving cream dispenser.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Hand-held razors are generally of the permanent type that require a blade change after a certain number of uses, or the disposable type wherein the entire razor is discarded after a number of uses. Both types must be stored between uses. Finding an ideal place to store the razor has been a problem in that the razor must be stored in an environment wherein the blade is kept dry to prevent premature deterioration. Also the razor should be stored in a convenient place in an orderly manner. The art would certainly welcome a reusable structure that would adequately support and store a razor on the shaving cream dispenser. Thus, a razor holder solving the aforementioned problems is desired.
- The razor holder of the present invention is adapted to be affixed to the outer surface of a conventional shaving cream dispenser. The holder comprises a flexible sheet having a magnetic, planar, inner surface. The magnetic sheet is mounted to the outer wall of the shaving cream dispenser. A conically configured housing is positioned on the outer surface of the sheet. The housing is designed to contain a hand-held razor for storage therein.
- Accordingly, the invention presents a device that can quickly and easily be attached and removed from the outer (metal) surface of a conventional shaving cream dispenser. The device includes a housing that effectively stores a hand-held razor therein when the razor is not in use. The invention provides for improved elements thereof in an arrangement for the purposes described that are inexpensive, dependable and fully effective in accomplishing their intended purposes.
- These and other features of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following specification and drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is an environmental, perspective view of a razor holder according to the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a razor holder according to the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is an environmental, top view of a razor holder according to the present invention. - Similar reference characters denote corresponding features consistently throughout the attached drawings.
- Referring to
FIGS. 1-3 , the razor holder is generally indicated at 10.Holder 10 comprises a thinflexible sheet 12 having a magneticinner surface 12 a. Thesheet 12 is preferably of a substantially rectangular configuration and is dimensioned to partially surround the metallic outer surface of a conventionalshaving cream dispenser 14. It should be recognized, however, that thesheet 12 might take on other suitable configurations, if desired. Ahousing 16 is positioned on theouter surface 12 b of thesheet 12. Theouter surface 12 b is preferably non-magnetic.Housing 16 is fabricated from a thin formable material (metal, plastic, etc.) and is attached to theouter surface 12 b by any suitable means (glue, rivets, grommets, etc.). Thehousing 16 is provided with anopen top 16 a and anopen bottom 16 b. A handheld razor R may be disposed in thehousing 16 for storage when the razor R is not in use. When thedispenser 14 is empty, therazor holder 10 is simply removed and magnetically attached to a fresh shaving cream dispenser can. - It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, but encompasses any and all embodiments within the scope of the following claims.
