Definitions
- the present invention relates to the technical field of furniture and it refers to a rotary piece of furniture provided with one or more spaces for containing objects, which can be reached and hidden by means of the rotation of the furniture.
- a drawback of said known furniture consists in that the opened doors are bulky and can create obstacles or can interfere with elements of the furniture or of the room in which said furniture pieces are roomed.
- a drawback of the latter kind of piece of furniture consists in that their content cannot be hidden and it is not protected from the light.
- Document CH 692 896 discloses a rotary piece of furniture comprising a body provided with an upper and lower portions, a posterior portion and a space accessible through one frontal opening.
- Said rotary piece for furniture comprises a support means and two arm means each having one end hinged to a respective element hinged to the support means and the another end hinged to the furniture.
- the arm means allow to turn the body around a vertical axis to exchange the positions of the posterior portion and the frontal opening passing from a hiding condition to an access condition and vice versa.
- An object of the present invention is to propose a rotary piece of furniture to hide the internal content and without additional bulky parts in the access condition.
- Another object is to propose a rotary piece of furniture which allows an easy inside access and can be operated by using only 1 hand.
- FIG. 1 illustrates schematic axonometric top view of two examples of the rotary piece of furniture of the present invention, connected to a wall, one of which is in a hiding condition and the another is in an access condition;
- FIGS. 2-6 illustrate top schematic views of a rotary piece of furniture of the present invention, in a sequence of successive conditions of passage from the hiding condition of FIG. 2 until the access condition of FIG. 6 .
- numeral 1 indicates the rotary piece of furniture of the present invention comprising a body 2 , for example in parallelepiped shape and made of wood or its by-products, made of metal, synthetic material and its combinations.
- the body is provided with at least an upper portion 3 , consisting of an upper flat face, a lower portion 4 , consisting of a lower flat face, a posterior portion 5 , consisting of a bottom plane, which delimit one or more spaces 6 eventually closed laterally by two sides.
- the spaces are accessible by means of a frontal opening 7 and they comprise, for instance, shelves, drawers, pull-out shelves, racks, bottle racks and similar.
- the rotary piece of furniture 1 comprises a support means 8 , for example made of metal, fit to be fixed to a wall P, to a partition, to a column and similar.
- the support means 8 is provided with a fixing means 13 , for example of “C” shape, fit to be blocked to the wall, or to other fixed body, and with a chassis at least a little bit wider than the width of the furniture 1 and fixed, for example by means of welding, to the fixing means 13 .
- a fixing means 13 for example of “C” shape, fit to be blocked to the wall, or to other fixed body, and with a chassis at least a little bit wider than the width of the furniture 1 and fixed, for example by means of welding, to the fixing means 13 .
- the chassis is constituted by an upper crossbar 14 and a lower crossbar 15 whose ends are lateral in respect to the body 2 and are mutual connected, for example by means of welding, by two lateral vertical uprights 20 , 21 .
- the ends of the crossbars 14 , 15 are associated to first hinge means 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 for the rotating connection of arm means 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 .
- said arm means 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 are connected in a rotating manner to the body of the furniture.
- the arm means are, for example, made of metal and have a very opened “V” shape.
- Each arm means 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 has an end hinged with a respective side of the support means, while the opposite end of each of them is hinged with the upper portion 3 or with the lower portion 4 of the body.
- the two upper arm means 9 , 10 are articulated in respect with the upper crossbar 14 and with the upper portion 3 of the body 2 and the two lower arm means 11 , 12 are articulated in respect with the lower crossbar 15 and with the lower portion of the body.
- first hinge means 16 , 17 of one side and the first hinge means 18 , 19 of another side are constituted by respective tubular members 22 , 23 containing the uprights 20 , 21 of the respective sides and fit to interconnect respectively the upper 9 and lower arm means 11 of one side and the upper 10 and lower arm means 12 of the another side in such manner to obtain more fluent and regular rotation of the body.
- connection of the arm means 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 to the furniture 2 is carried out by means of second hinge means 24 , 25 , 26 , 27 fixed to the upper portion 3 and/or to the lower portion 4 of body 2 .
- the first upper hinge means 16 , 18 and/or the first lower hinge means 17 , 19 form with the corresponding second upper hinge means 24 , 25 and the second lower hinge means 26 , 27 the vertex of a limb.
- geometric segments comprised between the first upper hinge means 16 , 18 and/or the first lower hinge means 17 , 19 and the geometric segments comprised between the second upper hinge means 24 , 25 and the second lower hinge means 26 , 27 are mutually divided in equal parts and are orthogonal.
- the support means 8 is fit to be fixed to a floor, a column and similar and it has, contrasting to the body 2 , a hiding panel.
- the piece of furniture of FIGS. 2-6 is different from the pieces of furniture of FIG. 1 only in the position of arm means, which is symmetrical in respect to the position illustrated in FIG. 1 .
- a simple and not illustrated variant provides that the fixing means 13 of the support means 8 rigidly connects the two lateral uprights 20 , 21 whose ends have first hinge means 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 for the rotating connection of the arm means 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 to the same support means 8 .
- This variant can have or not the crossbars and it is provided with two upper arm means 9 , 10 and two lower arm means 11 , 12 articulated to the respective first hinge means 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 of the two lateral uprights 20 , 21 .
- the arm means 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 of this variant are straight shaped.
- An advantage of the present invention is to provide a rotary piece of furniture able to hide the content of its internal spaces and without additional bulky element in the access condition.
