Abstract

The present invention provides a smoke and heat exhaust ventilator, which includes a pedestal, a diversion cover and a horizontal fan blade. The pedestal is provided with an assembly portion and external surface with an air vent. The diversion cover is assembled onto the external surface of the pedestal being hollow and being provided with an accommodating space, the inner end of which is connected to the air vent. The diversion cover is also provided with a lateral air inlet/outlet connected to the accommodating space. The horizontal fan blade is mounted into the accommodating space and comprised of a rotating shaft and a few blades. The external side of the horizontal fan blade aligns with the lateral air inlet/outlet of the diversion cover, whilst the inner end of horizontal fan blade aligns with the air vent of the pedestal.

  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates generally to a smoke and heat exhaust ventilator, and more particularly to an innovative ventilator with a pedestal, a diversion cover and a horizontal fan blade.
  • 2. Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 37 CFR 1.98
  • To ensure smooth air ventilation in a stuffy indoor environment, the roofing structure is often provided with a conventional ventilator 10 as shown in FIG. 1, where some blades are arranged at intervals around this spherical body to form circular air vents 11. When circular air vents 11 are rotated directionally, external air could be guided for ventilation and heat exhaust; however, the following shortcomings are observed during actual applications:
  • 1. A bigger space shall be required since the conventional ventilator 10 has a spherical shape along with its base at higher location. Thus, a poorer aesthetic effect will be caused when it is mounted externally onto the roof.
  • 2. The wind resistance coefficient is relatively increased due to the huge spherical shape of conventional ventilator 10, this makes it vulnerable to wind interference, e.g. wind gusts, typhoons. Meanwhile numerous unwanted materials (e.g. newspaper, plastic bags, fireworks and kites) are possibly jammed at the circular air vent 11, leading to a poorer ventilation effect.
  • 3. As the circular air vent 11 is composed of circular blades, rainwater may leak through the vent, bringing about indoor water accumulation.
  • Thus, to overcome the aforementioned problems of the prior art, it would be an advancement in the art to provide an improved structure that can significantly improve efficacy.
  • Therefore, the inventor has provided the present invention of practicability after deliberate design and evaluation based on years of experience in the production, development and design of related products.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The flat structure of the smoke and heat exhaust ventilator of the present invention dramatically reduces the height and space of the smoke and heat exhaust ventilator A, thus cutting down the wind resistance for a lower probability of damage to the smoke and heat exhaust ventilator A.
  • The aesthetic property of the smoke and heat exhaust ventilator of the present invention is an improvement due to smaller height and space after assembly onto the roof.
  • The lateral air inlet/outlet blocks water infiltration and prevents leakage.
  • The curved baffle plate is arranged within the lateral air inlet/outlet of the diversion cover so that a water-retaining effect is enhanced.
  • A solar panel 50 is mounted onto the pedestal 20 and diversion cover 30. The smoke and heat exhaust ventilator A can absorb solar energy for environmental-friendly power generation.
  • Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The features and the advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood upon a thoughtful deliberation of the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the present invention with reference to the accompanying drawings.
  • FIGS. 2-3 depict preferred embodiments of the smoke and heat exhaust ventilator of the present invention. These embodiments are provided only for explanatory purposes with respect to the patent claims.
  • The smoke and heat exhaust ventilator A comprises a pedestal 20, defining an assembly portion 21 and an external surface 22. An air vent 23 is reserved at a preset location of the external surface 22.
  • A diversion cover 30 is assembled onto the external surface 22 of the pedestal 20. The hollow diversion cover 30 forms an accommodating space 31 with an inner end. The inner end is connected to air vent 23 of the pedestal 20. The diversion cover 30 is provided with a lateral air inlet/outlet 32 connected to the accommodating space 31.
  • A horizontal fan blade 40 is mounted into the accommodating space 31 of the diversion cover 30. The horizontal fan blade 40 comprises a rotating shaft 41 and a few blades 42 radially arranged onto the rotating shaft 41. The blades of the preferred embodiment are arranged radially through the rotating shaft 41. The external side of the horizontal fan blade 40 aligns with the lateral air inlet/outlet 32 of the diversion cover 30, while the inner end of horizontal fan blade 40 aligns with the air vent 23 of the pedestal 20.
  • The pedestal 20 is a plate, and an oblique surface 24 is formed in peripheral.
  • A curved baffle plate 33 is placed within lateral air inlet/outlet 32 of the diversion cover 30 with a predefined depth. The curved baffle plate 33 is formed when the external surface 22 of the pedestal 20 protrudes until the external surface 22 exceeds the center of rotating shaft 41 of the horizontal fan blade 40.
  • The diversion cover 30 is provided with an oblique flange 34 opposite to the lateral air inlet/outlet 32, thereby serving the purpose of guiding air flow.
  • Based on above-specified structures, the present invention is operated as follows:
  • Referring to FIG. 3, external wind could be guided from lateral air inlet/outlet 32 into the inner space via horizontal fan blade 40. Conversely, indoor air could be guided outside of the lateral air inlet/outlet 32 via the horizontal fan blade 40.
  • The assembly of the present invention is illustrated below:
  • Referring to FIG. 4, the smoke and heat exhaust ventilator A is assembled onto the surface 60 of the roof for ventilation and heat exhaust.
  • Referring to FIG. 5, the smoke and heat exhaust ventilator A can also be assembled onto the ridge 61 of the roof for ventilation and heat exhaust.
  • Referring to FIG. 6, the smoke and heat exhaust ventilator A can also be assembled between the edge 62 of eave and the wall 63 for ventilation and heat exhaust.
  • Referring to FIG. 7, the smoke and heat exhaust ventilator A can also be assembled onto a preset location of the vertical wall 64 of the building.
  • Referring to FIG. 8, a solar panel 50 is mounted onto the pedestal 20 and diversion cover 30, so that solar energy can be absorbed for auxiliary power generation.

Claims (5)

1. A smoke and heat exhaust ventilator, comprising:
a pedestal, having an assembly portion and an external surface, said external surface having an air vent reserved at a preset location thereon;
a diversion cover, being assembled onto said external surface, being hollow and forming an accommodating space with an inner end connected to said air vent, said diversion cover having a lateral air inlet/outlet connected to said accommodating space; and
a horizontal fan blade, mounted into said accommodating space, said horizontal fan blade comprising a rotating shaft and a plurality of blades radially arranged onto said rotating shaft, an external side of said horizontal fan blade being aligned with said lateral air inlet/outlet of said diversion cover, said horizontal fan blade having an inner end aligned with said air vent.
2. The ventilator defined in claim 1, wherein the pedestal is a plate, said plate having an oblique surface formed in peripheral.
3. The ventilator defined in claim 1, wherein said lateral air inlet/outlet has a curved baffle plate placed therein at a predefined depth, said curved baffle plate being formed when said external surface protrudes until exceeding a center of said rotating shaft of said horizontal fan blade.
4. The ventilator defined in claim 1, wherein said diversion cover is provided with an oblique flange opposite to the lateral air inlet/outlet.
5. The ventilator defined in claim 1, wherein said pedestal and said diversion cover have a solar panel mounted thereon.
