Abstract
A golf bag in which club heads are placed downwards is provided. A club support (20) is arranged therein near the front of a bag body (10), at the upper portion of which is disposed a club positioning plate (21) and at a bottom portion of which is disposed a club head positioning slot (22) to accommodate the club head. When the club (30) is not in use, it is arranged on the club support (20) with the club head (31) placed downwards, and the upper and lower ends are supported and positioned by the club positioning plate (21) and the club head positioning slot (22) respectively. The front side of the bag body (10) is arranged with a bag cover (11) open sideward. By placing the club head downwards, the gravity of the bag can transfer to the bottom portion thereof.
Description
- This application claims the priority benefit of PCT application serial no. PCT/CN2006/001996, filed on Aug. 7, 2006, which claims Chinese patent application no. 200510037227.3, filed on Sep. 23, 2005. The entirety of each of the above-mentioned patent applications is incorporated herein by reference and made a part of this specification.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention generally relates to a golf bag for carrying golf accessories, in particular, to a golf bag in which club heads are placed downwards to maintain the balance of the bag.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Since its initiation, the golf sport has been existing for over hundreds of years. To date, the golf accessories include golf balls, clubs and a golf bag for carrying the clubs and other accessories. Despite of various shapes, the traditional golf bags share a common feature. That is, the clubs therein are all placed with the club heads upwards and the handles downwards. Such a mode is widely and always adopted by most golfers. However, the defects thereof are obvious. First of all, one golf bag is usually equipped with tens of clubs, heads of which are paced upwards, thus resulting in that the gravity of the bag is positioned at the upper part thereof. As a result, the upper part of the bag overweighs the lower part, and then the bag can easily incline sidewards when in use, leading to inconvenience and damage to the clubs. Second, a bag of full load while lacking balance can result in inconvenience when a golfer is shouldering the bag. As the golf sport becomes increasingly prevailing, the above issue is increasingly obvious. Then, the solution thereof has become inevitable.
- In order to solve the above-mentioned issue, the present invention aims to provide a golf bag in which club heads are placed downwards, thus transferring the gravity of the bag to the bottom portion thereof. Therefore, the bag can be placed more stably and carried more conveniently, and clubs can be easily picked or placed.
- To achieve this object, the present invention provides a golf bag with a club support placed near the front therein, in which club heads are placed downwards. On the upper portion of the club support is disposed a club positioning plate, and on the bottom is disposed a club head positioning slot which could accommodates the club heads. When a club is not in use, it can be disposed on the club support with the club head placed downwards, and the upper and lower ends are supported and positioned by the club positioning plate and the club head positioning slot respectively. The front side of the bag body is provided with a bag cover that can be opened sideward.
- The club support is an arc-shaped plate corresponding to the shape of the bag body and disposed along an axial direction of the bag on the side away from the open end of a shelf. At the upper portion and the bottom portion of the club support are provided with the club positioning plate and the club head positioning slot respectively.
- The club positioning plate on the club support is an annular plate protruding out of the support and arranged with a plurality of grooves on the edge thereof, such that the clubs can be accommodated therein.
- The club head positioning slot on the club support is an annular slot depressed inwards and disposed along a lower edge of the club support. It is divided into a plurality of grooves corresponding to the grooves on the club positioning plate, each of which can accommodate one club head.
- A free end of the bag cover is connected to the bag body in an openable manner through a zip, snap, Velcro, or buckle.
- An end of the handle of the club is marked with a club identifier.
- The present invention contributes to effectively solving the issue that the upper part of a traditional bag overweighs the lower part. Thanks to such an inverted structure, the clubs can be placed in the bag with the club heads placed downwards, and thus the gravity of the bag transfers to the bottom portion thereof. Therefore, the bag can be stably placed when in use, unlikely to lean to the ground or cause damage to the clubs. In addition, due to a bag cover provided near the club support that can be opened sidewards, the clubs can be picked out of and placed in the bag conveniently.

FIG. 2 is a schematic back view of the external configuration of the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is a front cutaway view of the structure of the present invention. -
FIG. 4 is a side cutaway view ofFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 5 is a schematic view for showing the club identifier marked on a club. - The following embodiments further demonstrate and illustrate the present invention, with no limitation to the scope of the present invention.
- Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , a golf bag in which club heads are placed downwards in the present invention includes a generally cylindrical-shaped bag body 10, and a bag cover 13 disposed at the upper portion of the bag body 10. The generally cylindrical-shaped bag body has a square, round, or oval cross-section and the upper end thereof is open. The bag cover has one end thereof stitched on the back portion of the bag body (seeFIG. 2 ), and the two sides thereof connected with the bag body in an openable manner through two zips 14. When in use, the bag cover 13 is unzipped and turned backwards. As shown inFIG. 4 , at the back of the bag body is provided with a plastic shelf 40, which is arranged with a plurality of shelf compartments 41 along the longitudinal direction. Each compartment can accommodate different articles. Furthermore, a plurality of fetch openings corresponding to the shelf compartments 41 are disposed at the back of the bag body, each of which is provided with a zip cover 15, seeFIG. 2 . - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , a club support 20 made of plastics is disposed near the front of the bag body 10 therein, which may be arranged separately or be integrated with the shelf 40. The club support is an arc-shaped plate corresponding to the shape of the bag body 10 and disposed along the axial direction of the bag on the side away from the open end of the shelf 40, with the surface thereof slightly inclining outwards such that the clubs cannot easily drop. On the upper portion of the club support 20 is disposed a club positioning plate 21, which is an annular plate placed horizontally and protruding out of the support, and provided with a plurality of semi-circular grooves 211 at intervals at the edge thereof. The grooves 211 are used to position the upper part of the clubs. At the bottom portion of the club support is disposed a club head positioning slot 22, which is an annular slot depressed inwards and disposed along the lower edge of the club support, and has a U-shaped section. At the open end of the positioning slot 22 is provided with a supporting surface 222 inclining inwards from the opening. The supporting surface matches the inclination angle of the external surface of the club head when the club is placed on the club support, such that the club head will not drop. The club head positioning slot 22 is divided into a plurality of grooves 221, each of which is corresponding to the groove 211 on the club positioning plate 21 thereabove. Each club handle is placed into the groove 211 of the club positioning plate 21, while the club head is placed into the corresponding groove 221 of the club head positioning slot 22. -
FIGS. 3 and 4 show the status of the clubs placed in the bag. When the club 30 is not in use, it can be placed on the club support 20 with the club head 31 facing downwards, and the upper and lower ends respectively supported and positioned by the club positioning plate 21 and the club head positioning slot 22. - As shown in
FIG. 1 , in order to pick and place the clubs conveniently, a bag cover 11 that can be opened sidewards is arranged at the front end of the bag body 10, of which one long edge is stitched to the bag body, while the other free ends are connected to the bag body 10 in an openable manner through a zip 16. Referring toFIG. 3 , when the bag cover 11 is opened, the front end of the bag is completely open, such that the golfer can clearly see all the golf clubs placed on the club support 20. - Referring to
FIG. 5 , each club 30 is marked with a club identifier 32 near one end of the handle thereof. The identifier is indicated in number, such that the golfer can pick the appropriate club quickly and accurately.
