Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to an accessory box, and more particularly to an accessory box defining therein a primary receiving room and a secondary receiving room for simultaneously receiving therein additional accessories of the product.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • When an electrical appliance is sold in a store, an operator's manual, specification of the electrical appliance, connection wires, transformers, a warrantee and other accessories will be packaged together with the electrical appliance in an accessory cardboard box which is described in either U.S. Pat. No. 5,027,709 or U.S. Publication No. 2006/0131198A1.
  • The currently available accessory cardboard box 80, as shown in FIG. 6, designed for containing therein a product 8 and an accessory box 9 respectively has a primary room 82 corresponding to and receiving therein the product 8 and a secondary room 83 corresponding to and receiving therein the accessory box 9. After the product 8 is received in the accessory cardboard box 80, two cushions 81 will be placed inside the accessory cardboard box 80 to position the product 8 as well as the accessory box 9.
  • During promotion period, discounts and free gifts are methods to attract customer to shop around, in which free gifts is the most effective way to draw a crowd of people to shop. When the size of the gift is too big to fit in the original accessory cardboard box 80, one way to solve the problem is to redesign the accessory box 9 to also accommodate the free gift. However, redesign the accessory box 9 means redesign the accessory cardboard box 80 and the cushion 81 as well, which brings up the cost of manufacturing the accessory cardboard box 80. The other way to handle this problem is now adopted by most of the shop keepers in that there is no redesign of anything involved. The gift is packaged in a different box 9 a, which in turn is fitted into the space in the original accessory cardboard box 80, as shown in FIG. 6, or the box 9 a is adhered to an outer side face of the accessory cardboard box 80 via an adhesive tape. When the box 9 a is received inside the space of the original accessory cardboard box 80, the box 9 a may just move around in the accessory cardboard box 80 during transportation and this may cause damage to the product 8. Attaching the box 9 a outside the accessory cardboard box 80 increases the overall dimension of the entire package, which causes difficulties in transportation and storage.
  • To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide a novel accessory box to mitigate the aforementioned problems.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved accessory box having therein an additional room for additional items.
  • In order to accomplish the aforementioned objective, the accessory box of the present invention is provided with a primary top receiving room and an additional bottom receiving room in communication with the primary top receiving room such that an additional item can be received in the additional bottom receiving room without modification or alternation of the original cushion and the dimension of the box.
  • More particularly, the accessory box of the present invention comprises a body which is formed from a sheet and comprises a bottom board, a first side board, a second side board, a front board and a rear board. The bottom board defines therein a bottom receiving room with a front opening and a rear opening. The first side board is integrally formed on a side of the bottom board. The second side board is integrally formed on another side of the bottom board to be opposite to the first side board. The second side board together with the first side board form a top receiving room on top of and communicate with the bottom receiving room. The top receiving room has a front opening and a rear opening both communicating with the top receiving room. Additionally, the front board is integrally formed with a front side of the bottom board to cover the front openings of the bottom receiving room and the top receiving room. The rear board is integrally formed with a rear side of the bottom board to cover the rear openings of the bottom receiving room and the top receiving room.

The second locking tabs 51 of the rear board 50 are inserted from a respectively rear opening of and into the first securing passage 24 and the second securing passage 34.
  • The first tabs 16 and the second tabs 17 are folded into the bottom receiving room “a” to be adjacent to inner sides of each of the front board 40 and of the rear board 50. Similarly, the third tabs 18 and the fourth tabs 19 are folded into the top receiving room “b” to be adjacent to the inner sides of each of the front board 40 and of the rear board 50.
  • FIGS. 3-4 also depict that the first wing 61, the second wing 62 and the front wing 63 are folded inward to be close to and vertical relative to the top board 60. Therefore, when the cover 2 is folded to cover the top receiving room “b”, the first wing 61 is received inside the top receiving room “b” to be adjacent to the first inner side wall 23; and the second wing 62 is also received inside the top receiving room “b” to be adjacent to the second inner side wall 33. Meanwhile the front wing 63 is attached to an outer side face of the front board 40 to allow the third locking tabs 64, 65 to be inserted into the first securing passage 24 and the second securing passage 34. After the aforementioned assembly procedure is finished, the accessory box of the present invention having a T-shaped cross section is presented, as shown in FIG. 4.
  • With reference to FIG. 5, it is noted that a package 70 is now provided with cushions 71 positioned at two opposite sides inside the package 70. Each of the cushions 71 has a primary recess 72 and a secondary recess 73 such that when two cushions 71 are positioned and facing each other inside the package 70, a product 7 may be positioned between the two primary recesses 72, and an accessory box 7 a of the present invention may be located between the two secondary recesses 73, wherein the protruding bottom portion of the accessory box 7 a is positioned between the two cushions 71, namely between the recesses 72, 73.
  • Due to the bottom protruding portion of the accessory box 7 a, additional accessories of the product such as connection wires, transformers, specification of the product, CDs containing therein the install software etc. may be received inside the additional receiving room. Furthermore, due to the dimension of the accessory box being the same as that of the conventional box for accessories, there is no need for alternation or modification of the package and the cushions. Manufacture cost is thus largely reduced. Still, because the protruding bottom portion of the accessory box is positioned between two cushions, movement of the accessory box inside the box is impossible and thus the product inside the box is protected from damage.
  • It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
