Abstract
A tool holder used in a toolbox for holding tool parts is disclosed to have a tool base, which is pivoted to a pivot shaft in the toolbox and has recessed portions arranged at two sides at different elevations, and a plurality of rubber blocks, which are press-fitted into the recessed portions of the holder base and have a through hole for receiving and retaining a storage tool part.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to tool storage means and more particularly, to a tool holder for use in a toolbox to hold tools and/or tool accessories.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional toolbox generally has insertion holes fixedly provided inside the box body thereof for holding tools and/or tool accessories. A toolbox of this design has drawbacks as follows:
- 1. The insertion holes are not adjustable to fit storage items perfectly. When carrying the toolbox, the storage items may fall out of place and hit one against another, causing noises.
- 2. For molding a deep insertion hole inside the box body by injection molding, a long forming rod member shall be used. During working the long forming rod member may be curved or damaged accidentally.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide a tool holder for toolbox, which is easy and inexpensive to manufacture. It is another object of the present invention to provide a tool holder for toolbox, which holds storage tool parts firmly in place. To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, the tool holder is pivotally coupled with a cover to a toolbox by a pivot shaft and turnable with the pivot shaft in and out of the toolbox. The tool holder comprises a barrel coupled to the pivot shaft, a holder base fixedly connected to the periphery of the barrel, the holder base having a plurality of recessed portions arranged at two sides at different elevations and a plurality of through holes arranged at different elevations and extending through the recessed portions, and a plurality of elastic blocks respectively press-fitted into the recessed portions. The elastic blocks each have a through hole corresponding to the through holes of the holder base for receiving and retaining storage tool parts.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a tool holder in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view of the tool holder in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is a schematic drawing showing tool holders turned out of a toolbox one after another according to the present invention. -
FIG. 4 shows the closed status of the toolbox ofFIG. 3 . -
FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view of a number of tool holders according to the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is a schematic sectional view showing saw blades stored in one tool holder according to the present invention. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-6 ,tool holders 10 are shown mounted in atoolbox 30 to hold tool parts (saw blades, tool bits, etc.) 33. Thetoolbox 30 has apivot shaft 32 transversely pivotally disposed at one side thereof, and acover 31 fastened to thepivot shaft 32 and turnable with thepivot shaft 32 to close/open thetoolbox 30. Thetool holders 10 each have abarrel 14 transversely disposed at one end and coupled to thepivot shaft 32 of thetoolbox 30. - Each
tool holder 10 further has aholder base 11 formed integral with the periphery of thebarrel 14, a plurality of recessedportions 13 formed in theholder base 11 at two sides and alternatively arranged at two different elevations, and two throughholes 12 arranged at different elevations and respectively extending through therecessed portions 13. Further a plurality of elastic blocks, fore example, rubber blocks 20 are respectively inserted into therecessed portions 13, each having a throughhole 21 for the insertion of atool part 33. Eachtool holder 10 further has acoupling hole 15 and acoupling rod 17 arranged at two sides adjacent to thebarrel 14. The diameter of thecoupling rod 17 is smaller than the diameter of thecoupling hole 15. After installation of thetool holders 10 in thetool box 30, thebarrels 10 of thetool holders 10 are respectively coupled to thepivot shaft 32, and thecoupling rod 17 of onetool holder 10 is inserted into thecoupling hole 15 of anothertool holder 10. Further, thebarrel 14 of the first (or last)holder base 11 is locked to thepivot shaft 32. - When opening the
cover 31, thefirst tool holder 10 is turned with thepivot shaft 32 to the outside of thetoolbox 30. When thefirst tool holder 10 is being turned out of thetoolbox 30, thecoupling rod 17 of thefirst tool holder 10 will soon carry thesecond tool holder 10 toward the outside of thetoolbox 30, and thecoupling rod 17 of thesecond tool holder 10 will soon carry thethird tool holder 10 toward the outside of thetoolbox 30, and finally, all thetool holders 10 will be turned out of the toolbox 30 (seeFIG. 3 ). On the contrary, when closing thecover 31, thetool holders 10 will be turned with thepivot shaft 32 one after another to the inside of the tool box 30 (seeFIG. 4 ). - As indicated above, the invention has the following benefits:
- 1. The
holder base 11 of eachtool holder 10 has recessedportions 13 at two sides that diminish material consumption, thereby reducing the weight and manufacturing cost of thetool holder 10. - 2. Elastic (rubber)
blocks 20 are press-fitted into therecessed portions 13 of theholder base 11, keeping the respective throughholes 21 in line with the throughholes 12 for receivingstorage tool parts 33 and holdingstorage tool parts 33 firmly in place. - Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
