Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The invention relates to a cooking device, more particularly to a cooking device having a tray unit for placing food that is to be cooked.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Conventional cooking devices, such as a portable gas stove, normally include a housing, a pot-supporting member mounted on the housing and adapted to support a pot thereon, a burner received in the housing, and a fuel can mounted in the housing for supplying fuel to the burner. Use of the conventional cooking device is inconvenient in that food containers, such as bowls and platters, are required for placing foods that is to be cooked.
- Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a cooking device that can overcome the aforesaid drawback associated with the prior art.
- Accordingly, the cooking device of this invention comprises: a base unit including a bottom wall, and a surrounding wall extending upwardly from a periphery of the bottom wall, cooperating with the bottom wall to confine an accommodating space, and having a top flange extending laterally therefrom; a tray unit including a bottom wall that is received in the accommodating space in the base unit and that is formed with a recess defined by a recess-defining wall, and a through-hole in the recess-defining wall, a surrounding wall extending upwardly from a periphery of the bottom wall of the tray unit and cooperating with the bottom wall of the tray unit to confine a tray space, and a top flange extending laterally from the surrounding wall of the tray unit and seated on the top flange of the surrounding wall of the base unit; a perforated supporting ring mounted in the recess in the bottom wall of the tray unit and protruding outwardly of the accommodating space; and a burner mounted in the accommodating space, and extending through the through-hole and into the supporting ring.
- Other features and advantages of the present invention will be come apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of a cooking device according to the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the preferred embodiment; and -
FIG. 3 is a sectional view of the preferred embodiment. - Referring to
FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, the preferred embodiment of a cooking device according to the present invention is shown to be adapted for heating awok set 22, and includes: abase unit 3 including abottom wall 31, and a surroundingwall 32 extending upwardly from a periphery of thebottom wall 31, cooperating with thebottom wall 31 to confine an accommodating space, and having atop flange 33 extending laterally therefrom; atray unit 4 including abottom wall 41 that is received in the accommodating space in thebase unit 3 and that is formed with arecess 412 defined by a recess-definingwall 415, and a through-hole 413 in the recess-definingwall 415, a surroundingwall 42 extending upwardly from a periphery of thebottom wall 41 and cooperating with thebottom wall 41 to confine atray space 414 for placing food that is to be cooked, and atop flange 43 extending laterally from the surroundingwall 42 and seated on thetop flange 33 of the surroundingwall 32 of thebase unit 3; a perforated supportingring 6 mounted in therecess 412 in thebottom wall 41 of thetray unit 4, protruding outwardly of the accommodating space in thebase unit 3, and formed with a plurality ofholes 61; and aburner 5 mounted in the accommodating space in thebase unit 3, and extending through the through-hole 413 and into the supportingring 6. - In this embodiment, the
bottom wall 31, the surroundingwall 32 and thetop flange 33 of thebase unit 3 are integrally formed by punching and bending a metal plate. - The cooking device further includes a fuel can 21 mounted in the accommodating space in the
base unit 3 for providing fuel to theburner 5 in a conventional manner. Thebase unit 3 further includes apartition wall 34 mounted in the accommodating space in thebase unit 3 to define a fuel can-receivingcompartment 35 for accommodating the fuel can 21 therein. Thebottom wall 31 of thebase unit 3 is formed with anarcuate indentation 311 for receiving fittingly the fuel can 21. - In this embodiment, the
bottom wall 41, the surroundingwall 42 and thetop flange 43 of thetray unit 4 are integrally formed by punching and bending a metal plate. In practice, the fuel can-receivingcompartment 35 is located at one side of the accommodating space in thebase unit 3, whereas theburner 5 is mounted in an opposite side of the accommodating space in thebase unit 3 for safety purposes. - Moreover, in this embodiment, the
bottom wall 31, the surroundingwall 32, and thepartition wall 34 of thebase unit 3 are formed with a plurality ofvent holes 36 for introducing fresh air into the accommodating space in thebase unit 3. - Since the
base unit 3, thetray unit 4, the supportingring 6 are simply stacked one above the other, assembly and disassembly of the supportingring 6, thetray unit 4, and thebase unit 3 are relatively easy. As a consequence, cleaning of thetray unit 4 is made convenient. With the inclusion of thetray unit 4 in the cooking device of this invention, the aforesaid drawback of the prior art can be eliminated. - While the present invention has been described in connection with what is considered the most practical and preferred embodiment, it is understood that this invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiment but is intended to cover various arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent arrangements.
