Description

  • [0001]
This application claims benefit to provisional application 60/687,227, filed on Jun. 3, 2005, entitled Toilet Tissue Boxholder.
  • FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • [0002]
The present invention is directed to the field of tissue boxes. In particular, the present invention is directed to the field of a novel tissue box adapted to be used for toilet paper.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • [0003]
Tissue box dispensers are frequently used in powder rooms. These tissues are used for cleaning glasses, wiping nostrils or other areas. Unfortunately, these dispensers are not often found near the toilet. This often requires a person to use “toilet paper” for non-fecal uses when using the toilet, which may not be sanitary. Rolled toilet paper is not sanitary, even when it is used for its intended purpose.
  • [0004]
There have been a number of patents directed to the area of toilet tissue holders. U.S. Pat. No. 6,302,350 discloses a toilet tissue dispenser comprising a housing. An upper front door in the housing lifts upwardly, so that multiple toilet paper rolls can be stacked into the housing. The housing has a lower front notch opening, to allow the lowest toilet paper roll to be removed therefrom.
  • [0005]
U.S. Pat. No. 5,570,938 discloses a holder for storing multiple rolls of toilet paper in a box-like enclosure mounted to a wall, either to the surface of the wall or in a recess. The enclosure is provided with a tilt-out front panel and an integral floor having multiple rods affixed orthogonally to the floor for receiving the open central cores of toilet paper rolls. The entire assembly comprising the front panel, the floor and rods tilt out as a unit to provide access the stored toilet paper rolls.
  • [0006]
U.S. Pat. No. 4,828,193 discloses a one handed sheet holder for enabling a user to tear off the desired amount of sheets from a roll single handedly. The sheet holder is conformed to be attached to a standard sheet dispensing means, such as a toilet paper dispenser, a paper towel dispenser, and the like. The sheet holder has one or more retaining slots cut into the top of the holder which are wider at the opening and narrower at the ending of the slot. As a result, sheets drawn into the slot are forced to the narrow ending, bunch, and tear leaving the end of the roll of the paper captured in the slot and the desired amount of paper for use in the user's hands. As a result, handicapped and other individuals can easily secure the desired amount of rolled sections of tissue single handedly. Further, the end of the roll is captured and displayed so that it can be simply and easily retained when further sections of paper are desired. The sheet holder is adapted for use with wall mounted roll dispensers known in the art, as well as recessed dispensers, paper towel dispensers and the like.
  • [0007]
U.S. Pat. No. 4,354,643 discloses a container for retaining the free or loose end of a roll of bathroom tissue or toilet paper in an accessible position spaced away from the periphery of the bathroom tissue or toilet paper roll. The holder is generally of U-shaped configuration with a pair of generally parallel legs terminating in hook-shaped components for engagement over the spindle of a conventional toilet paper holder and a plurality of spaced rod-like or dowel structures interconnecting the outer end portions of the legs for receiving the free end of the bathroom tissue or toilet paper therethrough for retaining the free end of the tissue or paper in accessible position. The holder also includes a pair of supporting members or spacers which extend inwardly toward a wall surface to space the outer ends of the legs away from the wall surface so that the free end of the tissue or paper will generally depend tangentially from the roll of bathroom tissue or toilet paper thereby eliminating the problem of grasping the free end of a roll of bathroom tissue or toilet paper which occurs when the free end of the tissue or paper is positioned tightly against the remainder of the toilet paper or roll.
  • [0008]
It is an object of the present invention to provide a novel toilet paper holder which permits toilet paper to be dispensed from a box.
  • [0009]
It is another object of the present invention to provide a toilet paper box holder which is easily accessible.
  • [0010]
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a toilet paper or a tissue box which can be accessed from the top or sides.
  • [0011]
It is a still a further object of the present invention to provide a device for dispensing boxed toilet paper which eliminates the sanitary issues associated with conventional toilet paper.
  • [0012]
It is a yet a further object of the present invention to provide a tissue dispenser which can be attached to a conventional toilet paper holder.
  • [0013]
These and other objects of the invention will become clear from the detailed description which follows.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • [0014]
Currently toilet tissue does not come in a box, but facial tissue is commonly sold in a 5.5″×4.5″×4.5″ paper box. The present invention is a holder to hold this type of a box containing toilet tissue or flushable facial tissue. The holder's primary location will be to replace toilet paper rolls next to the toilet, but it could also be used in other locations.
  • [0015]
It is an object of the present invention to provide a holder and a dispenser for supporting a toilet paper or tissue box; a platform for supporting a toilet paper or tissue dispenser box; a pair of arms attached to the platform for suspending the platform from a toilet paper dispenser for support of a box having at least one aperture for dispensing tissue.
  • [0016]
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a holder and dispenser for supporting a tissue box; a substantially horizontal platform for supporting a tissue dispenser box; a pair of arms attached to the platform for suspending the platform from a toilet paper dispenser; and a plastic box for placement on the box support having at least one aperture for dispensing tissues.
  • [0017]
Yet a further object of the present invention is to provide a holder and dispenser for supporting a tissue box; a horizontal platform with sidewalls for supporting a tissue dispenser box; a pair of arms attached to the platform for suspending the platform from a toilet paper dispenser; and a plastic box for placement on the box support having a plurality of apertures for dispensing tissues.
  • [0018]
These and other objects of the present invention will become apparent from the detailed description which follows.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • [0019]
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention without a tissue box.
  • [0020]
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the present invention with the tissue box inserted.
  • [0021]
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the invention unhinged.
  • [0022]
FIGS. 4 and 5 are perspective views of the invention without a box.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • [0023]
The present invention is described with reference to the enclosed Figures. FIG. 1 illustrates the support 10 for a tissue or toilet paper box of the present invention. The support 10 comprises a horizontal platform 12 suspended by two arms 13. The two arms 13 extend upward and are bent outward at an angle. The arms 13 support the platform 12 and connect to a toilet paper holder 18. This is the critical element.
  • [0024]
The platform has a flat bottom 15 with side walls 17 which hold and support a box 14. It is to be realized that the box 14 is not an essential part of the invention. The tissue box 14 encloses tissues to be dispensed. The box which will dispense toilet paper or standard facial tissue 14 has at least two apertures 16 which permit tissues to be loaded and dispensed. The box 14 and supports may be constructed from a variety of materials, including metal, wood and plastics.
  • [0025]
In operating the supports attributed to a toilet paper holder via the arms 13. The arms are angled 13 a and 13 b and remain angled when attached. The ends of the arms have pins 19 for locking with a toilet paper roll dispenser. The box 14 is inserted into the support 10 where tissues can be easily dispensed.
  • [0026]
As noted, the holder of the invention thus holds a box of toilet tissue which is very similar to a box of facial tissue. The holder will hold a new type of toilet tissue product in a decorative box and eliminates the urine, feces and accompanying bacteria and viruses which can land on a roll of toilet paper.
  • [0027]
The invention provides improved decorativeness for toilet paper. Aesthetically minded homemakers like to decorate their bathrooms in certain themes and colors. Plain, bland, white rolled toilet paper is not decorative. The boxed toilet tissue holder of the present invention allows the homemaker to enhance the bathroom's color and even display an image on the box to tie in with the room's color and theme.
  • [0028]
The invention is also pet and child proof. Conventional tissue rolls can get unrolled by small children and pets. This creates a huge mess and further presents a potential health risk to the child or pet. The present invention solves this problem.
  • [0029]
This invention ends the problem of “fighting” to find the end of the roll. People often jiggle a toilet paper roll, spinning it one way then the other, trying to find the end so they can use the tissue. The invention tissue solves this problem.
  • [0030]
The invention facilitates ease of replacement. Replacing rolled toilet paper requires fumbling around with the spring-loaded cylinder, sliding it through the roll without dropping the roll to the floor and getting the cylinder ends in the correct slots while the roll blocks your vision and your fingers get pinched. The boxed toilet tissue and box easily slips in and out with no pain or problems.
  • [0031]
The boxed toilet tissue holder of the present invention can hold different products. The Boxed toilet tissue can be colored, scented, thicker, pre-moistened, lotioned, plain, etc.
  • [0032]
Finally, the invention is particularly suited for the handicapped and elderly. Simply lifting the pre-separated toilet tissue out of a box is much easier for handicapped and elderly users than fighting with a roll to find the end and then tearing the tissue to separate it. Replacing the boxed toilet tissue is also much easier than replacing a roll for such a person.
  • [0033]
The present invention has been described with reference to the enclosed Figures. It is to be appreciated that the true nature and scope of the invention is to be determined with respect to the claims appended hereto.
