Abstract

A disk case has a top case, a bottom case pivotally connected to the top case, and an engaging base located on the bottom case for hooking a compact disk therein. The bottom case is pivotally connected to the top case. The engaging base is located on the bottom case; moreover, the engaging base has a supporting plate located on the bottom case, an engaging body protruding from the top surface of the supporting plate and defining a plurality of grooves formed therein and a plurality of hooking portions respectively located beside the corresponding grooves of the engaging body.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a disk case, and more particularly to a disk case for hooking a compact disk therein. Furthermore, an engaging base of the disk case has improved durability and the compact disk hooked in the disk case can be taken out easily without pressing an engaging body of the engaging base of the disk case.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. A, a conventional disk case 1 has a top case 11, a bottom case 12 pivotally connected to the top case 11 and an engaging base 13 located on the bottom case 12 for hooking a compact disk. The engaging base 13 has an engaging body 131 defining a plurality of notches 133 formed thereon, and a plurality of hooking portions 132 for elastically hooking the compact disk. A compact disk may be stored in or removed from the conventional disk case 1.
  • However, the conventional disk case 1 still has following defects:
  • (1) Because the engaging body 131 and the hooking portions 132 are separate from each other, the hooking portions 132 are easily broken after the compact disk is repeatedly taken out or placed into the conventional disk case 1.
  • (2) A material of the engaging base 13 is hard to choose. If the material of the engaging base 13 is too hard, the compact disk is not easily placed into the conventional disk base. If the material of the engaging base 13 is too soft, the hooking portions 132 cannot easily hook the compact disk.
  • (3) When an user wants to take the compact disk out, the engaging body 131 is directly pressed first by one finger of one hand of the user; moreover, a outside of the compact disk 2 is held and upwardly pulled by two fingers of another hand of the user, so that the compact disk is taken out from the conventional disk case. It is inconvenient to remove the compact disk.
  • According to above descriptions, the conventional disk case still has some issues that need to be improved.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary object of the present invention is to provide a disk case having a durable engaging base.
  • The secondary object of the present invention is that a compact disk hooked in the disk case can be taken out easily without pressing the engaging body of the engaging base.
  • In order to achieve the above objects, the present invention is to provide a disk case having a top case, a bottom case and an engaging base. The bottom case is pivotally connected to the top case. The engaging base is located on the bottom case; moreover, the engaging base has a supporting plate located on the bottom case and defining a plurality of openings formed in a top surface thereof. An engaging body protrudes from the top surface of the supporting plate and defines a plurality of grooves formed therein, the grooves being respectively in correspondence with the openings of the supporting plate. A plurality of hooking portions are respectively located beside the corresponding grooves of the engaging body, each of the hooking portions having a hooking body including a front wall. A first elastic arm connects to one end of the hooking body, a second elastic arm connects to another end of the hooking body and a hooking block is located on the front wall of the hooking body.
  • It is to be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description are exemplary, and are intended to provide further explanation of the invention as claimed.
  • Other advantages and features of the invention will be apparent from the following description, drawings and claims.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The foregoing aspects and many of the attendant advantages of this invention will be more readily appreciated as the same becomes better understood by reference to the following detailed description, when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a conventional opened disk case;
  • FIG. 1A is a partially enlarged view of the conventional disk case;
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing an opened disk case in accordance with the present invention;
  • FIG. 2A is a partially enlarged view of the opened disk case in accordance with the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of FIG. 2A;
  • FIG. 4 is a partially enlarged view of an engaging base of the disk case in accordance with the present invention; and
  • FIG. 5 is a top view showing a compact disk placed in the disk case in accordance with the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring to FIGS. 2-5, the present invention provides a disk case. The disk case has a top case 3, a bottom case 4 pivotally connected to the top case 3, and an engaging base 5 located on the bottom case 4. The engaging base 5 has a supporting plate 51, an engaging body 52 and a plurality of hooking portions 53. The supporting plate 51 is located on the bottom case 4 and the supporting plate 51 defines a plurality of openings 512 formed in a top surface 511 thereof. The engaging body 52 protrudes from the top surface 511 of the supporting plate 51 and the engaging body 52 defines a plurality of grooves 522 formed therein; the grooves 522 are respectively in correspondence with the openings 512 of the supporting plate 51. The hooking portions 53 are respectively located beside the corresponding grooves 522 of the engaging body 52. Each of the hooking portions 53 has a hooking body 531, a first elastic arm 532, a second elastic arm 533 and a hooking block 5312. The hooking body 531 has a front wall 5311. The first elastic arm 532 connects to one end of the hooking body 531. The second elastic arm 533 connects to another end of the hooking body 531. The hooking block 5312 is located on the front wall 5311 of the hooking body 531. Each of the first elastic arm 532 and the second arm 533 has a curved shape concaving toward an inside of the engaging body 52. The grooves 522 respectively communicate with the openings 512 of the supporting plate 51, in which the hooking portions 53 are respectively hung above the corresponding openings 512 of the supporting plate 51. The openings 512 of the supporting plate 51 and the hooking portions 53 are of the same width. The front wall 5311 of the hooking body 531 has a flat shape. Thereby, each of the hooking portions 53 is capable of being pressed elastically.
  • Furthermore, each of the hooking portions 53 is integrally formed between two ends of the corresponding grooves 522 of the engaging body 52, so as to has a better structural strength. Additionally, each of the first elastic arm 532 and the second arm 533 is thinner than the hooking body 531 of the hooking portion 53, so as to add elasticity of the first elastic arm 532 and the second arm 533.
  • Referring to FIG. 3, a compact disk 2 defines a hole 21 formed thereon; moreover the compact disk 2 is engaged with the engaging base 5 of the disk case. A user uses only a finger to hook an outside of the compact disk 2 and slantwise pulls the compact disk 2 up; the hooking portion 53 is pressed inwardly, so that the compact disk 2 is taken out easily without pressing the engaging body 52.
  • Referring to FIG. 5, when the compact disk 2 is placed in the disk case, an inside of the compact disk 2 abuts against the hooking blocks 5312 of the hooking portions 53, so that the hooking blocks 5312 are pressed inwardly. Until the hooking blocks 5312 return to their original shapes, the compact disk 2 is hooked in the disk case, as shown in FIG. 3.
  • According to above descriptions, the present invention has following advantages:
  • (1) The compact disk 2 is taken out of or placed into the disk case easily by elasticity of the first elastic arm 532 and the second arm 533 without directly pressing the engaging body 52, so the engaging base 5 has a better durability.
  • (2) The engaging base 5 is not easily broken after the compact disk 2 is repeatedly taken out or placed into the disk case. Additionally, an user uses only his finger to hook the outside of the compact disk 2 and slantwise pulls the compact disk 2 up; the hooking portion 53 is pressed inwardly, so that the compact disk 2 is taken out easily without pressing the engaging body 52.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation show and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.

Claims (4)

1. A disk case comprising:
a top case;
a bottom case pivotally connected to the top case; and
an engaging base located on the bottom case, the engaging base having a supporting plate located on the bottom case and defining a plurality of openings formed in a top surface thereof, an engaging body protruding from a top surface of the supporting plate and defining a plurality of grooves formed therein, the grooves respectively being in correspondence with the openings in the supporting plate and a plurality of hooking portions being respectively located beside the corresponding grooves of the engaging body, wherein each of the hooking portions has a hooking body including a front wall, a first elastic arm connecting to one end of the hooking body, a second elastic arm connecting to another end of the hooking body and a hooking block located on the front wall of the hooking body.
2. The disk case as claimed in claim 1, wherein both first elastic arm and the second arm have a curved shape concaving toward an inside of the engaging body.
3. The disk case as claimed in claim 1, wherein the grooves respectively communicate with the openings of the supporting plate and the openings of the supporting plate and the hooking portions are identical in width.
4. The disk case as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the first elastic arm and the second arm is thinner than the hooking body of the hooking portion.
