Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a display stand, and more particularly to a display stand constructed with a plurality of telescopic rods.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • Large decorative displays such as a Santa Claus, Christmas tree or the like are often stood in front of shopping stores or houses as ornaments. These conventional displays must be manually assembled. Because the displays are tall, workers must use ladder with them for assembling or placing other decorations. After use, the display must be manually disassembled. Therefore, it is very inconvenient and may be dangerous for the workers to assemble and decorate the displays.
  • Therefore, the invention provides a telescopic display stand to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The main objective of the present invention is to provide a telescopic display stand which can be automatically erected for use and retracted for storage.
  • Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a telescopic display stand in accordance with the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the telescopic display stand in accordance with the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view of the telescopic display stand in a contracted status;
  • FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view of the telescopic display stand in an erected status; and
  • FIG. 5 is a cross sectional view of another embodiment of the telescopic display stand in accordance with the invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference to FIGS. 1-4, a telescopic display stand in accordance with the present invention has a base (10) and a fixed tube (30) secured on the base (10). An effigy sheath (not shown) with an appearance such as a Christmas tree, Santa Claus, etc. is provided outside the fixed tube (30).
  • A first telescopic tube (40), a second telescopic tube (50) and a third telescopic tube (60) are in turn telescopically received in the fixed tube (30). A first threaded rod (70), a second threaded rod (71), a third threaded rod (72) and a sleeve (73) are in turn telescopically received in the third telescopic tube (60). An axle (21) is provided at a bottom of the sleeve (73) and rotatably mounted in the base (10). A driving unit (20) is mounted on the axle (21), and a motor (26) is mounted beside the fixed tube (30) and connected to the axle (21) by the driving unit (20). The first threaded rod (70) has a top (701) secured on an upper plate (61) of the third telescopic tube (60).
  • The base (10) has a flange (11) formed thereon, and a recess (12) with a bottom side (13) is defined in the flange (11). The fixed tube (30) is secured to an outside surface of the flange (11). The sleeve (73) has a bottom plate (211) provided at a bottom end thereof and the axle (21) is mounted on the bottom plate (211).
  • A chamber (14) is defined under the bottom side (13) of the base (10), and the driving unit (20) is received in the chamber (14). The driving unit (20) includes a motor (26) and a first belt pulley (27) mounted on an output axle of the motor (26). A shaft (23) is rotatably mounted in the chamber (14). A second belt pulley (25) is mounted on the shaft (23) and connected with the first belt pulley (27) by a belt (271). A first gear (22) is mounted on the axle (21), and a second gear (24) is mounted on the shaft (23) and engaged with the first gear (22). When the motor is actuated, the axle (21) is driven by the driving unit (20) to rotate.
  • In another embodiment of the invention, as shown in FIG. 5, the driving unit (20A) includes only the motor (26), the first belt pulley (27) mounted on the motor (26), the second belt pulley (28) mounted on the axle (21) and connected with the first belt pulley (27) by the belt (29).
  • A first upper rim (31), second upper rim (41), third upper rim (51), and fourth upper rim (61) are respectively formed at top ends of the fixed tube (30), first telescopic tube (40), second telescopic tube (50) and third telescopic tube (60). A first hole (311), second hole (411), third hole (511), and fourth hole (611) are respectively defined in the first upper rim (31), second upper rim (41), third upper rim (51), and fourth upper rim (61). A first lower rim (32), second lower rim (42), third lower rim (52), and fourth lower rim (62) are respectively formed at lower ends of the fixed tube (30), first telescopic tube (40), second telescopic tube (50) and third telescopic tube (60).
  • First ribs (33), second ribs (43), third ribs (53) and fourth ribs (63) are respectively formed on outer peripheries of the fixed tube (30), first telescopic tube (40), second telescopic tube (50), and third telescopic tube (60). The cross sections of the first telescopic tube (40), second telescopic tube (50), and third telescopic tube (60) are respectively corresponding to those of first hole (311), second hole (411), and third hole (511).
  • The first threaded rod (70) has a top end (701) extending through the fourth hole (611). A ring (64) is provided at the top end (701) and a pin (65) is inserted through the ring (64) to fasten the first threaded rod (70) in the fourth upper rim (61).
  • The second threaded rod (71) has a first stopping flange (711) with a first threaded hole (712) provided at a top end thereof. The first threaded rod (70) is threadingly engaged in the first threaded hole (712). A first nut (702) is provided at a bottom end of the first threaded rod (70).
  • The third threaded rod (72) has a second stopping flange (721) with a second threaded hole (722) provided at a top end thereof. The second threaded rod (71) is threadingly engaged in the second threaded hole (722). A second nut (713) is provided at a bottom end of the second threaded rod (71).
  • The sleeve (73) has an inner flange (731) with a third threaded hole (732) formed at a top end thereof. The third threaded rod (72) is threadingly engaged in the third threaded hole (732). A third nut (723) is provided at a bottom end of the third threaded rod (72).
  • With reference to FIGS. 3-4, when the motor is actuated, the first belt pulley (27) is rotated to drive the second belt pulley (25) and the shaft (23) by the belt (271). Then the second gear (24) is rotated to drive the first gear (22) and the axle (21), so the sleeve (73) is rotated.
  • Therefore, the third threaded rod (72) is turned about the sleeve (73) and raised from the sleeve (73) until the third nut (723) is blocked by the inner flange (731). Afterwards, the second threaded rod (71) is turned about the third rod (72) and raised from the third rod (72) until the second nut (713) is blocked by the second stopping flange (722). Afterwards, the first threaded rod (70) is turned about the second rod (71) and raised from the second rod (72) until the first nut (713) is blocked by the first stopping flange (712). Thus, the display stand is erected and the effigy sheath can be extended over the stand.
  • When the motor is actuated reversely, the third threaded rod (72), second threaded rod (71) and first threaded rod (70) are in turn retracted in the sleeve (73) to contract the display stand.
  • It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
