- Folding screens are known to partition rooms and smaller screens have been proposed which may be used to conceal clutter, such as on a desk top or the counter top of a kitchen. Such folding screens are typically sized to fit on a kitchen counter below the cabinets often found in the kitchen, and at times a larger screen may be desired.
- Screen panels are held together pivotally and respective screen panels have an interior decorative panel fitted within a groove of the side panels and a removeable border panel enabling the decorative panels to be changed as desired.
- the border panels preferably have outwardly opening holes for receiving pegs to enable one or more screen panels to be fitted together.

Abstract
Screen panels are held together pivotally and respective screen panels have an interior decorative panel fitted within a groove of the side panels and a removeable border panel enabling the decorative panels to be changed as desired. The border panels preferably have outwardly opening holes for receiving pegs to enable one or more screen panels to be fitted together.
Description
- This application claims the benefit of the filing date of provisional application Ser. No. 60/496,236 filed Aug. 20, 2003.
- The present invention relates to folding screens that may be stackable and may have the decorative panels interchanged.
- It is therefore, an object of the present invention to provide folding screens that may be secured removably together.
- Screen panels are held together pivotally and respective screen panels have an interior decorative panel fitted within a groove of the side panels and a removeable border panel enabling the decorative panels to be changed as desired. The border panels preferably have outwardly opening holes for receiving pegs to enable one or more screen panels to be fitted together.
- These and other objects, advantages and features of the present invention will become apparent from the description given below of a preferred embodiment, which description is made in conjunction with the following drawing figures.
-
FIG. 1 is a prospective view of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of one screen panel of the present invention; and -
FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of a connecting peg. - As shown in
FIG. 1 ,screen panels hinges 12 so as to be foldable, and the screen panels have an interiordecorative panels FIG. 2 forscreen panel 30, the screen panels are formed ofside panels 36 and 37 preferably made from wood, andborder panels 38 and 39 also made preferable from wood. The upper border panel is removeable and connectingpegs 42 are embedded within a respective side panel. The connectingpegs 42 fit withinbores 45 having internal circular springs within the upper border panel to provide a quick connect/disconnect. Preferably, each screen has comparable structures enabling the upper border to be removed. The decorative panels are fitted slidably within a groove formed along the inside edge of the of side panels so the decorative panels can be interchanged with the upper border panel removed. With the upper border removed from a screen panel, the decorative screen can be slid from receiving grooves so the decorative screen panels may be changed. - The border panels of one or more of the screen panels also has
bores 47 having internal circular springs to receive connectingpegs 42 so that a user may fit and secure screen panels on top of one other or alternatively may remove the upper borders and fit another section of screen panels on top to provide a screen of greater height. - As shown in
FIG. 3 showing an enlarged view of a connecting peg, 42 the pegs are formed withspiraling grooves 43.
Claims (2)
1. A plurality of screen panels held together pivotally and respectively formed of side panels and upper and lower border panels held together and an interior decorative panel fitted within a groove of the side panels; at least one of said border panels being removeable to enable the decorative panels to be changed as desired.
2. The screen panels as set forth in claim 1 , said border panels having outwardly opening holes for receiving connecting pegs to enable one or more screen panels to be fitted together.
