Abstract
A cover for massaging member on an elastic chair has an elongated body made of soft material. The elongated body has an open side with two edges, two open ends, and a zipper mounted at the open side for fastening the edges of the open side. A chamber is defined in the elongated body and two openings are respectively defined at the open ends when the open side is zipped up. Multiple bulges are protruded from the body. Whereby, massaging members and wires can be concealed and cushioned by the cover and the elastic chair will have an attractive appearance and make a user sitting on the chair feel more comfortable.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a cover, and more particularly to a cover enclosing massaging members on a backrest of an elastic chair.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- With reference to
FIG. 4 , an elastic chair (20) with good air permeability has a frame and multiple mounting seats (22) provided at opposed sides of the frame. Multiple elastic straps (21) are respectively connected between the mounting seats (22) and parallel to each other. A pair of first side covers (23) is provided to enclose the mounting seats (22) on a backrest of the chair, and a pair of second side covers (24) is provided to enclose the mounting seats (22) on a seat of the chair to conceal the mounting seats (22) in the side covers (23, 24). The side covers (23, 24) can be filled with soft material to prevent the rigid mounting seats (22) from making a user sitting on the chair feel uncomfortable. - The elastic chair (20) further has multiple massaging members (25) installed on the elastic straps (21) of the backrest. Each of the massaging members (25) has protrusions (251) formed on an exterior surface for pressing against the user's body.
- However, because the massaging members (25) are exposed, the elastic chair (20) has an unattractive appearance, and wires for the massaging may snag a user's clothes. At the same time, rigid outer edges of the massaging members (25) may cause the user discomfort.
- Therefore, the invention provides a cover for the massaging members to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
- The main objective of the present invention is to provide a cover which conceals massaging members on an elastic chair to give an attractive appearance to the elastic chair, as well as providing comfort to a user.
- Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a cover in accordance with the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the covers inFIG. 1 covering massaging members on an elastic chair; -
FIG. 3 is a front plan view of the elastic chair provided with the covers; and -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a conventional elastic chair. - With reference to
FIGS. 1-2 , a cover for an elastic chair in accordance with the present invention has an elongated body (10) made of a soft material such as leather or fabric. The elongated body (10) has an open side (not numbered) and two open ends (not numbered). A zipper (11) is mounted at the open side of the elongated body (10) for fastening two edges of the open side. Alternatively, the zipper (11) can also be replaced with a Velcro™ tape, or multiple snap fasteners. When the elongated body (10) is zipped up, a chamber (12) is defined inside the elongated body (10) and two openings (13) are defined at the open ends of the elongated body (10). The elongated body (10) further has multiple bulges (14) protruding from the elongated body (10) for respectively covering massaging members (25) on an elastic chair (20). - With reference to
FIGS. 2-3 , the elastic chair (20) has multiple elastic straps (21) transversally extending in a backrest frame thereof. Multiple massaging members (25) are individually mounted on the elastic straps (21). In this configuration, each of the massaging members (25) has two elastic straps (21) extending therethrough, and the same two elastic straps (21) have two massaging members (25) separately mounted thereon. Therefore, the cover has two bulges (14) for respectively enclosing the two massaging members (25). - In an unzipped situation, the elongated body (10) is spread on the elastic straps (21) to respectively cover massaging members (25) with the bulges (14), and the elastic straps (21) respectively extend though the openings (13). Thereafter, the open side of the elongated body (10) is zipped by the zipper (11) to enclose the massaging members (25) in the bulges (14).
- Although the massaging members (25) and the elastic straps (21) are encased by the cover (10), there are gaps between the covers (10) and those elastic straps (21) without the massaging members (25) and thus also without the covers (10), and the elastic chair still has a good air permeability. Because the cover (10) is made of soft material, protrusions (251) of the massaging members (25) can have the same massaging effect as the massaging members lacking the covers (10). Furthermore, the cover (10) can be filled with elastic material to make a user sitting on the elastic chair feel more comfortable.
- Therefore, the invention has the following advantages:
-
- 1. Because the massaging members are encased by the cover, the user's back will not directly abut the rigid edges of the massaging members and so the user will feel very comfortable when sitting on the elastic chair.
- 2. The massaging members and wires are concealed by the cover, so the elastic chair has an attractive appearance.
- 3. The cover can reduce the noise caused by motors of the massaging members in operation.
- 4. The concealment by the cover of the wires prevents a user's clothes becoming snagged by the wires.
- It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
