1 Claim.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in a carbon removing composition.
The primary object of my invention is to provide a compound of this character which is in- 5 troduced into the motor through the spark plug openings and acts, first, to loosen and eliminate the old carbon on the cylinder walls, valve seats, etc., and second, to coat or glaze the walls of the cylinders and associated parts 'of the'motor 10 so that new carbon will not collect for many thousands of miles.
The composition consists of kerosene, creosote, castor oil and amyl acetatemixed and blended in substantially the following proportions:
Per cent Kerosene 49 Creosote 25 Castor oil 25 2O Amyl acetate The compound is introduced into the motor through the spark plug openings after the former has been heated to a temperature at which the water in the radiator begins to boil and creates a 25 gas which circulates through the cylinders, pround valve openings, under cylinder and piston rings and associated parts of the motor and penetrates and loosens the old carbon. In doing so,
it gives the motor more compression and the piston rings freer action and thus reduces gasoline and oil consumption, while producing greater energy.
- In practice, the kerosene passes off as a vapor 5 or with the carbon and is used in the mixture as a reagent to aid in the production of gas from the other elements of the compound. When the motor cools, this gas is allowed to partly solidify and coats or glazes the cylinder walls, which 10 causes the new carbon to be thrown off as quickly as it is produced, owing to the smoothness of the cylinder walls.
The several elements of the compound so thoroughly blend with each other that the best pos- 15
