Abstract
A lacquer bullet gun barrel, having a barrel case, concentrically surrounding a boring and having a rear end that is fastened to a front end of a gun case. The rear end of the barrel case has a cavity, receiving an insertion tube, which has a diameter equal to said boring and is aligned with said boring on a common axis. With this assembly, lacquer bullets tightly fit into the insertion tube, so that gas drives lacquer bullets therein with high pressure. Aligning the insertion tube with the boring ensures firing precision and an increased firing range.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a lacquer bullet gun barrel, particularly to a lacquer bullet gun barrel which can be disassembled.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Lacquer bullet guns currently on the market each work basically by driving lacquer bullets through a barrel to be fired. The lacquer bullets that are fired are of comparatively small weight, made of elastic material and contain coloring matter. Barrels for driving lacquer bullets are therefore different from barrels of regular guns or of air guns firing hard bullets.
- As shown in FIG. 3, a conventional lacquer bullet gun barrel comprises: a gun case1; a
barrel 2 on a front end of the gun case 1; a pressured-gas container 3, providing pressurized gas forfiring lacquer bullets 5; and afeeding mechanism 4, set on an upper side of the gun case 1, accommodating thelacquer bullets 5 and feeding thelacquer bullets 5 to be fired into abullet chamber 6 inside the gun case 1. The bullet chamber is located at a rear end of thebarrel 2 and contains afiring device 7. Thefiring device 7 is driven by pressurized gas for ejecting thelacquer bullets 5 through thebarrel 2. - Referring to FIG. 4, the
conventional barrel 2 has a long and narrow firing path. When forming the firing path in the barrel in a lathe or by drilling, working and cost limitations restrict the length of the firing path. Therefore, thebarrel 2, conventionally made of a single body, is relatively short, which reduces speed of fired bullets and limits firing range thereof. - Since working a barrel having a single body is difficult, barrels with two sections have been developed, as shown in FIG. 5. In this design, a
barrel 2A has afront section 8A and arear section 9A. Thefront section 8A and therear section 9A are connected by threads. Therear section 9A has a smaller diameter than thefront section 8A and also has a diameter that is slightly smaller than the diameter of thelacquer bullets 5. When alacquer bullet 5 enters therear section 9A of thebarrel 2A, a tight connection thereof with therear section 9A is established, and thelacquer bullet 5 is driven forward by large pressure. While gliding inside therear section 9A, thelacquer bullet 5 is compressed. Thefront section 8A has a slightly larger diameter than therear section 9A. Consequently, pressure experienced by thelacquer bullet 5 is smaller, and the original shape of thelacquer bullet 5 is restored, while friction is reduced. Thus thelacquer bullet 5 in thefront section 8A is driven by pressure and accelerated. - Undergoing large pressure in the
barrel 2A, thelacquer bullet 5 gains a large momentum. In the event of bursting of thelacquer bullet 5, thebarrel 2A allows to be cleaned in two sections. However, since the front andrear sections barrel 2A and are not perfectly fitting together, there is no common axis of the front andrear sections lacquer bullet 5 inside thebarrel 2A does not follow a straight path, so that precision and stability of firing are insufficient, and no stable target is aimed at. Furthermore, lacquer bullets easily burst in thebarrel 2A. - It is the main object of the present invention to provide a lacquer bullet gun barrel which is easy to manufacture, lowering production cost and production failure rates.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a lacquer bullet gun barrel which is easily disassembled and conveniently cleaned in the event of a burst lacquer bullet.
- A further object of the present invention is to provide a lacquer bullet gun barrel of higher precision and an extended firing path.
- The present invention can be more fully understood by reference to the following description and accompanying drawings.
- FIG. 1 is a sectional side view of the lacquer bullet gun barrel of the present invention when assembled and mounted.
- FIG. 2 is a sectional side view of the lacquer bullet gun barrel of the present invention when disassembled.
- FIG. 3 is a sectional side view of a conventional gun case and barrel for firing lacquer bullets in conjunction with an air gun.
- FIG. 4 is a sectional side view of a conventional lacquer bullet gun barrel in a single body.
- FIG. 5 is a sectional side view of a conventional lacquer bullet gun barrel which can be disassembled.
- As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the lacquer bullet gun barrel of the present invention mainly comprises: a
barrel case 10, concentrically surrounding a boring 11, through which lacquerbullets 5 pass when fired. Thebarrel case 10 has a rear end carrying anouter thread 12 for establishing a connection with agun case 20 of a lacquer bullet gun. Thebarrel case 10 is thus mounted on a front end of thegun case 20. - The main characteristic of the present invention is that the
barrel case 10 has a rear section with aninner cavity 13 into which aninsertion tube 30 is inserted. Theinsertion tube 30 has a rear end with an opening wherelacquer bullets 5 enter theinsertion tube 30. Theinsertion tube 30 has an inner diameter that is equal to the diameter of the boring 11. Thus, after connecting thebarrel case 10 with theinsertion tube 30, a complete barrel is formed for firing lacquer bullets. - The
insertion tube 30 is made of material with low friction, like copper alloy, carbon fibers or nylon fibers.Lacquer bullets 5 inside theinsertion tube 30 are tightly connected with theinsertion tube 30, so that maximum pressure is built up for drivinglacquer bullets 5. Furthermore, the material of theinsertion tube 30 has a low friction coefficient, so friction inside the barrel is reduced, andlacquer bullets 5 are fired with increased speed. With fine working of thecavity 13 and theinsertion tube 30, high precision is achieved, so that theinsertion tube 30, having been inserted into thecavity 13, is aligned with the boring 11 in thebarrel case 10. - Referring to FIG. 2, for mounting the
barrel case 10 on the lacquer bullet gun, first theinsertion tube 30 is inserted into thecavity 13 at the rear end of thebarrel case 10, then thebarrel case 10 with theinsertion tube 30 is screwed into an inner thread at the front end of thegun case 20 and fastened there. When thebarrel case 10 is deeply screwed in, the rear end of theinsertion tube 30 leans against amounting seat 21, so that theinsertion tube 30 and thebarrel case 10 are connected with each other. - For dismounting and cleaning the
barrel case 10, thebarrel case 10 is removed from themounting seat 21, then theinsertion tube 30 is taken out of thebarrel case 10, and thebarrel case 10 and theinsertion tube 30 are cleaned separately. - Above design of the present invention of separately working, then assembling the
insertion tube 30 and thebarrel case 10 results in the boring 11 being short and following a straight line. Working the boring 11 is relatively simple. Theinsertion tube 30 is relatively short and easily workable, as well. Thus the present invention reduces working cost and effort, and production failure does not easily occur. - Furthermore, since the
barrel case 10 and theinsertion tube 30 are separable, in the event of a burst lacquer bullet inside the barrel theinsertion tube 30 is taken out of thebarrel case 10, and cleaning thereof is performed separately. Cleaning is thus simplified, allowing to remove bullet fragments and coloring matter thoroughly. - In comparison with a conventional lacquer bullet gun barrel that is screwed or glued together, the present invention, with the
insertion tube 30 inserted into thecavity 13 of thebarrel case 10, has theinsertion tube 30 and thecavity 13 fine-worked and automatically aligned. There will be no bend due to a mismatch of inner and outer threads, but rather a high degree of precision and good alignment of theinsertion tube 30 and thecavity 13 of thebarrel case 10. Theinsertion tube 30 and the boring 11 in conjunction form a straight firing path without bend, ensuring thatlacquer bullets 5 proceed in a straight line within thebarrel case 10, leading to improved accuracy of firing lacquer bullets. - Above explanation shows that the present invention has the following advantages:
- 1. Convenient working ensures a firing path of lacquer bullets with minimal bending.
- 2. Assembly of the firing path is done by insertion, no screws and no gluing are required.
- 3. The firing path is straight, so lacquer bullets will not easily burst therein.
- 4. The straight firing path ensures improved precision and an increased firing range.
- 5. In the event of a burst lacquer bullet, opening and cleaning is convenient.
- While the invention has been described with reference to a preferred embodiment thereof, it is to be understood that modifications or variations may be easily made without departing from the spirit of this invention which is defined by the appended claims.
Claims (2)
1. A lacquer bullet gun barrel, comprising:
a barrel case, concentrically surrounding a boring and having a rear end that is fastened to a gun case of an air gun, said rear end receiving an insertion tube, which has an opening with a slightly smaller inner diameter than said boring and is aligned with said boring on a common axis.
2. A lacquer bullet gun barrel according to claim 1 , wherein said rear end of said barrel case has a cavity for inserting said insertion tube, with said insertion tube having an outer periphery that fits precisely in said cavity.
