In a yarn clearer having an adjustable hole for the passage of the yarn, the combination of two small juxtaposed plates each having an edge out out in the shape of a V and these edges cooperating for conjointly forming a quadrangular clearing hole, a support having guide projections, the small plate located on the side through which the yarns enters beingstationary on this support; an operating plate having two parallel edges and a rectilinear groove adapted to slide on the said projections of the stationary support, this groove being slightly oblique relatively to the said parallel edges, and that of the said small plates out out in V-shape, which is located on the side through which the yarn issues being adapted to slide on the said operating plate parallel to its edges and having a rectilinear groove adapted to slide on one of the projections: of the stationary support, this groove being parallel to the diagonal passing through the apices of the-two V-shaped notches, and means for locking together thesaid ating plate.
3. In a yarn clearer having an adjustable hole for the passage of the yarn, the combination of a fixed, .thin and resilient plate arranged on the side through which the yarn enters, a stationary support on which the said thin plate is secured,
a movable, thick and rigid plate arranged on the support, the two notched plates and the said operplates against each other, this support having a] guide projection extending in the slot of the small bar, means for guiding the thick plate on this small bar according to a direction slightly oblique relatively to the slot of the said bar, the latter having a hand operated control extension, both small plates each having an edge out out in the shape of a, V for conjointly forming the hole through which the thread passes, and the slot of the said thick plate being parallel to the diagonal passing through the apices of both V-shaped notches.
