Description
Jan. 1, 1935 D. A. EOLIS POWDER DISPENSER Filed March 16, 1934 i Patented Jan. 1, 1935 t UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE This invention relates jto powder dispensers used in connection with powder boxes and has for its object a means for controlling the cap of the said box and which means maybe used to screw on the cap or remove it. Another object or the invention is the duplicating of the invention and giving. the various dispensers certain distinguishing features so that several people may use the powder but haverdifferent dispensers from which to get the powder on their brushes. These and other details and objects of the invention are more fully described in the following specification, set forth the appended claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein: H

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a powder box with a plurality of dispensers attached to its removable cap. i
Fig. 3 is a side view of the dispensers in Fig. 2 and lined to represent diiferent colors.

An objectionable feature in powder dispensers when associated with a powder box is that but a single person can satisfactorily use same but to provide for several persons using the same box the present invention provides several dispensers to be mounted on the cap and given different distinguishing marks.
For the'purpose of unscrewing the cap 10 of thepowder box 11 a trough-shaped dispenser 12 is rigidly secured to the cap and when the latter .is removeda supply of powder may be put in the dispenser. To enable the user to take advantage of the cap and dispenser being removed 40 and not screwed on the box again, the cap 10,
scribed. nor from. claims.
frictional closure as show as shown in Fig. 5, may be enlarged and made heavy enough to form a base to enable the dispenser to stand alone. l r
The duplicating of the dispenser, as shownin .Figs. 2 and 3'neoessitates them being set at an 5 angle with the two dispensers 13 and 14 united by a strap 15 secured to the cap 16 and the same having their ends given distinguishing features as shown by the shading thereon.
Where it is desirable to leave one or the other 10 of the dispensers on the top ofthe box, the dispensers 17 and 18 in Fig. 4 may eachhave a cap 19 to be united and strengthened by the brace 20 and different colors may be applied to the dispensers to distinguish them. 15
It is obvious that the parts, of the invention may be otherwise arrangedor modified without departing from the essential featuresabove dethe scope of the appended Whilea screw cap is shown in Figs. 3' and 4, any form of capmay be adopted, such a Figs. 1 and 2.
What Iclairnasnew is! v i I 1. In powder dispensers, the combination of a 1 powder box, a cap adapted to confine the contents of the box, a strip secured to the cap, and a troughsecured to each end of the strip.
2. In powder dispensers, the combination of a powder box having a nipple, a cap adapted to be fitted on the nipple, a flat arc-shaped strip-secured on the cap, and arcuate troughs having closed endsand secured at the ends of said strip.
' 3. In powder dispensers, the combination of a powder box; having an opening and a nipple,
a cap. for the nipple, a fiat strip on the top of the cap, and troughs possessing distinguishable features one from the other andsecured at ope posite ends of the strip.
