To secure the felt 33 to the plate 18, one of the edges of thefelt is folded around a cord and stitched as at 3% to form a pleat extending lengthwise of the sheet of" felt. Since, obviously, if: the window is raised and lowered the attachment plate 18 must travel back forth. along the, lower edge of the window and since it is an obje'ctof the invention to make the windowfreelyrotatable in and out of the window opening"about'its regulator support, to this end the sash'channel 13 has spot welded or otherwise suitably fixed thereto a track'28. The track 28 roughly comprises an'upper lip 29 which is flat and securedito the sash channel 13 and a lower 11530 which is preferably curved about a true radius and cooperates with lip 29' to form'a socket forthe 'roll ed-over edge 21of plate 18. It will 'be" noted that th edge 31 of the lip 30 is spaced from the flat upper lip 29 to produce the 51m; 32. Because-the window isfree to fulcrum about the rolled-over edge 21 of the attaching plate 18, the travel of the window panel 3 in a plane not parallel or somewhat inclined to the plane in which the regulator arms and attaching plate 18 travel in their up and down movement will prevent any binding between the.

When it is desired to disconnect. the window from the regulator one need only lower the window, remove the garnishmoulding 9 and.

normal raised position, until the slot 32 of the track 28 rotates to a position about the felt covered rolled edge 21 where the slot 32.is equal to or greater than the diameter of this rolled edge,
of the plate 18 (Figure 6) whereupon the window can be withdrawn from the opening. It will be noted that with this type of roll-in attachment there is no need to remove the lock board 39 or the trim upholstery to permit installation or removal of the window panel.
It will be noted from Figure 1 that as the plate 7 18 travels back and forth in the track 28 as the window is raised and lowered, the center of the lower edge of the window panel 3 will always be some place between the ends of the tubular portion 21 of the plate 18. In other words, the tubular portion 21 of the plate 18 provides a multiple point suspension for the window and in all positions of the window supports the same on both sides of the center of its bottom edge thus preventing the window from cocking in its guides 4 and 5.
I claim:
1. In a window assemblyhaving an opening, a panel for the same, and a regulator for raising and lowering the panel toclose and open the window opening, an attachment for attaching the window to the regulator comprising in combination a track member and a slide member, one of said members being secured to the window panel and the other to the regulator, the said slide and track members having a sliding, hinging interengagement whereby the window is free to fulcrum relative to the regulator inwardly and outwardly during the normal operation of the regulator to raise and lowerthe window and also at assembly or disassembly.
2. In a window assembly having an opening, a panel for the same, and a regulator for raising and lowering the panel to open and close the window opening, an attachment for attaching the window panel to the regulator comprising in combination a track member having an elongated slot, and a slide member, one of said mem-- bers being secured to the window panel and the other to the regulator, the said slide member having a slidable hinging interengagement with the track member through the said slot whereby the window is free to fulcrum relative to the regulator both during the normal operation of the regulator to raise and lower the window and at assembly or disassembly of the regulator and window.
3. In a window assembly having a window panel and a regulator for moving the window panel to open and closed positions, an attachment for attaching the window panel to the regulator comprising a pair of hinged members, one of said members being secured to the lower edge of the lato-r at multiple points on both sides of the center of the lower edge of the panel and being disconnectable without flexing-said member within limits as the one is rotated about the other at assembly or disassembly.
. 4. In a window assembly having a window of the planograph type for moving the window panel along the said guides to open and closed position, an attachment for attaching the window panel to the regulator comprising a pair of hinged members, one of said members being fixed to the. lower edge of the panel and the other of said.
members being pivoted to the arms of the said regulator, the hinged members having a hinging interengagement during the normal operation of the regulator at multiple points on each side of the center line of the lower edge of the window panel whereby the panel is held against edg'ewise cooking in the guides and is free to fulcrum aboutits lower edge during the raising and lowering 'of the window and also at assembly or disassembly.
' 5. In a window assembly having an opening, a panel for the same, and a regulator for raising and lowering the panel to open and close the window opening, an attachment for attaching the panel to the regulator comprising in combination a track member in the form of a socket having an elongated slot, and a slide member. having a long diameter greater than the width of the slot and a short diameter less than the width of the slot, one of said members being secured to the panel and the other to the regulator, the said slide member having a slidable, hinging interengagement through the slot with the said track member whereby the window panel is free to fillcrum relative to the regulator.
6. In a window assembly having an opening, a panel for the same, and a regulator for. raising 'and lowerin the window panel to open and close the window opening, an attachment for attach-. ing the window panel to the regulator comprising in combination a track member in the form of an elongated socket, and a member having a tubular portion slidably and hingedly interengaging the track member through the said slot, one of said members being secured to the window panel and the other to the regulator, the tubular portion of the said member having a long diameter greater than the width of the slot and a short diameter less than the width of the slot whereby the panel may be disconnected from the regulator by rotating the same until the track reaches a position relative to the tubular portion of the slide member where the width of the slot is greater than the diameter of the tubular portion.

In a window regulator assembly the combination of a window guide, a window panel guided in the said guide, a garnish moulding which can be removed to permit the window to tilt inwardly, a window regulator for sliding the panel in the guide, a track member having an elongated slot, and a slide member insertable through the slot having a sliding, hinging engagement with the track, one of said members being secured to the window regulator and the other to the window panel, the said slide member having a long diameter greater than the width of the slot and a short diameter less than the width of the slot whereby when the garnish moulding is removed the window can be tilted panel and the. otherto the regulator, the said hinged members having a hinging interengage-, merit during the normal operation of the reguuntil the track reaches a position relative to the said slide member where the width of the slot is greater than the diameter of the slide to permit the track to be disconnected from the slide member thus disassembling the window panel from the window regulator.
8. In a window assembly having an opening, a panel for the same, and a regulator for raising and lowering the panel to open and close the window opening, an attachment for attaching the window panel to the regulator comprising in combination a track member in the form of an elongated, arcuate socket, and a slide member having an edge rolled back upon itself to form a tubular slide, one of said members being secured to the lower edge of the window panel and the other to the regulator, the said slide and track members having a sliding, hinging interengagement whereby the window panel is free to fulcrum about its lower edge.
9. In a window assembly having an opening, a panel for the same, and a regulator for raising and lowering the panel for opening and closing the window opening, an attachment for .attaching the window panel to the regulator comprising a track member and a slide member, one of said members being secured to the window panel and the other to the regulator, the said slide member having an elongated slot, and a web of fibrous material having an interlocking engagement with the slide member in the said slot and drawn about the said slide and slidably engaging the track member.
10. In a window assembly having a window panel, and a regulator for moving the window panel to open and closed position, an attachment for attaching the window panel to the regulator comprising a pair of hingedly interengaged members, one of said members being secured to the .llower edge of the panel and the other to the regulator, one of said members having an elongated slot, and a web of felt in interlocking engagement in the said slot and drawn over the face of the said member to form a noise .pre-.
venting surface between the hinged members.
11. An attachment for securing the window regulator to a window panel comprising in combination a pair of hinged members, one of said members arranged to be secured to the lower edge of the window panel and the other to the regulator, one of said members having an edge rolled back upon itself to form a slot, and a web of felt having a pleated end, the said pleated end of the web of felt having an interlocking engagej ment with the rolled-over edge of the said member and being drawn about the outer surface of the said member to interpose a felt surface be-.

12. In a window assembly having an opening, a panel for the same and a regulator for raising and lowering the panel to close and open the window opening, an attachment for attach-.- ing the window to the regulator comprising in,
combination a track member and a slide mem: ber, one of said members being secured laterally along the lower edge of the window panel and the other to the regulator, the said slide and track members having a laterally rigid, sliding, hinging interconnection during the normal operation of the regulator whereby the window is free to fulcrum about its lower edge as the window is raised and lowered andat assembly or disassembly.
13. In a window assembly having an opening, a panel for thesame and a regulator for raising and lowering the panel for closing and opening the window opening, an attachment for attach-.r
