This invention relates to a show window display case, the general object of the invention being to provide means for supporting articles to be displayed, with means whereby the parts of the case can be adjustable to suit the articles being displayed.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.

In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:-

Figure 1 is a top plan view of the invention.

Figure 2 is a front view thereof.

Figure 3 is an end view.

Figure 4 is a vertical sectional view through the front portion of the lower part of the invention. 7

Figure 5 is a view of one of the movable panels.

In these drawings, the numeral 1 indicates a number of supporting members set on edge and connected together in spaced relation by the front and rear strips 2, the front strip 3 and the top member 4. Each member 1 has a straight lower edge and a straight rear edge, with the rear portion of its upper edge straight and the front portion of its upper edge sloping downwardly and forwardly, with the front end of the member straight and with the corner where said front end merges with the sloping upper edge rounded, as shown in Figures 3 and 4. Each member 1 is cut to receive the strips 2 and 3, as shown. Long bolts 5 pass through the members 1 and through the front parts of the top member 4, as shown in Figure 3.

intermediate their ends, and has nuts '7 threaded to the ends thereof and a panel 8 is placed between each pair of members 1 and rests upon said rod 6, with its front end resting against the strip 2. Each panel is preferably formed as shown in Figure 5, with the reinforcing transversely extending strips 9 partly inserted in grooves formed in the under face of the panel and suitably fastened to the panel, such as by screws 10 or the like.

A number of long vertically arranged bolts 11 have their lower ends passing through the top member 4 and a number of shorter bolts 12 pass through the member 4 and are arranged in front of the bolts 11. The two sets of bolts pass through a wide shelf 13, while the long bolts pass through a number of narrow shelves 14. These shelves are adapted to rest on articles placed on the top member 4 and upon other shelves, such as the cans shown at 15 in dotted lines in Figure 2. Nuts 16 are threaded on the upper ends of the bolts 11 and 12 to prevent the shelves from being entirely removed from the bolts unless said nuts are removed.

It will be seen that I have provided a simple form of show window display case, the parts of which can be adjusted in accordance with the articles which are to be displayed thereby.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.

It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.

What is claimed is:-

A display case of the class described comprising a plurality of members set on edge, each member having its upper edge formed with a horizontally disposed rear part and a downwardly and forwardly sloping front part, strips connected to the lower edges of said members and connecting said members together in spaced relation, one strip being located adjacent the front ends of said members, a vertically arranged front strip connected with the front ends of said members and forming with the last mentioned strip an angle space, a long rod passing through the members adjacent the junction of the sloping parts with the horizontal parts thereof and located an appreciable distance below said junction, a panel located between each pair of members and having an intermediate part of its under face resting on said rod and the front edge of said panel resting in the angle space formed by the front bottom strip and the front strip and a top piece resting on the horizontal parts of the upper edges of said members and connected with said members, the rear ends of said panels projecting slightly under said top piece, said top piece and the rear portions of the members forming article receiving spaces at the rear of the case.
