My invention relates to improvements in games and the main object is to provide a game in which a number of target baskets or bags are disposed in spaced relation around the playing field and in which the object is to throw a small ball into the baskets from specified points or distances, the score depending upon the number of baskets made and the distance from which the ball was thrown in making each basket.

A further object is to provide a game of this kind equally suitable for either indoor or outdoor play and which will afford the players healthful exercise and entertainment.

With these and other objects in view the invention resides in the novel construction and arrangement of parts as hereinafter set forth and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings wherein:

Figure 1 is a plan view of a playing field arranged for playing my game and showing the target baskets and other parts in place.-

Figure 2 is a front view of one of the target baskets and associated outer basket and stand, the scale being greatly enlarged relative to the -1 showing in Figure 1.

Figure 3 is a vertical cross section through the structure shown in Figure 2.

Figure 4 is a detached perspective view of the target basket and supporting arm alone.

' Figure 5 is a view of a ball for use in playing the game.

Figure 6- is a perspective View of one of the bases or pitchers plates.

Figure 7 is a front elevation of one of the outer baskets alone.

In carrying out my invention I provide a number of target baskets designated generally at l and each comprising a small inner basket 2 and larger outer basket 3 made of a suitable mesh or netting. The inner basket 2 is secured at its mouth to a ring 4 formed in or secured centrally to a supporting arm 5 which is adapted to seat at its lower end 6 in a base or socket '7 supported by legs 8. At its upper end the supporting arm 5 has a fork 9 in which is hung the large ring 10. This ring 10 is secured to the mouth of the outer basket 3 and the arrangement is such that the two baskets will be supported in concentric relationship as shown. Brace rods 11 are extended between and secured to the lower portion of the ring 10 and the lower portion of the supporting arm 5 to hold the outer basket 3 in position. .In lieu of these rods 11 cords may be employed to hold the outer basket and will allow i the same to be removed when desired.

In arranging a ground or field for playing my game a plurality of target baskets l constructed as described are employed and are set up in the field in spaced relationship. Figure 1 shows one form of field or ground in which the baskets are arranged along a triangular path 12 but it is understood that any other form of field may be made as desired. A number of oases orplates 13 are set in the groundor floor to designate throw ing points for the players and each player stands at these points and pitches a small ball, as 14, at the baskets. The object of the game is to pitch the ball into the small basket 2 which will require considerable skill when the throwing points and the baskets are some distance apart and will therefore make the game entertaining as well as healthful. Should the ball miss the small basket it will fall into the outer basket 3 and may be retrieved for further play.

Preferably the supportingarms 5 are slightly bent at 15 adjacent their lower ends so that the baskets are held at an angle sloping backward away from the player to facilitate pitching the ball into the baskets. In the field arrangement shown in Figure 1 the bases 13 are placed behind each basket 1 and a box or ticket ofiice 16 is provided through which the players pass in entering and leaving the game but this arrangement is understood to be purely exemplary. The score may be computed in any desired way as for instance allowing a number of points for each basket into which the player throws the ball and varying this number according to the distance the ball must be thrown and the resulting skill required.

Further details of the construction and playing of my game will be readily apparent.

While I have herein set forth a certain preferred embodiment of my invention it is understood that I may vary from the same in minor details so as best to construct a practical assembly for the purposes set forth not departing from the spirit of the invention and within the scope of the appended claims.

I claim:

1. In a game, a base socket, a supporting arm seated in the said socket and having a ring formed intermediate its ends and a fork at its upper end, a small inner basket attached at its mouth to the ring, a large ring hung in the fork on the supporting arm and supported thereby concentrically with the ring in the supporting arm, and a large outer basket attached at its mouth to the outer ring.

2.
