The more specific objects and advantages will become apparent from a consideration of the description following, taken in connection with ac- 4 companying drawings illustrating an operative embodiment.

Referring specifically to the drawings wherein like reference characters designate like or similar parts, 10 designates ,a suitable supporting frame particularly having end members 11 rigidly connected together as by means of a longitudinally extending trough 12, a bar 13 and paste board 14. A roll of wall paper is shown at 15 supported on a removable rod 16 applicable to slots or openings 17 and 18 according to the height or adjustment desired for the roll.

The free end of the paper passes between a pair of rolls 19 and 20, arranged above them, the former having trunnions at 21 whereby it is journaled in the end members 11. Metallic brackets 22 are secured to the end members 11 which suspend bearings 23 in which trunnions 24 of the rollers are journaled. Rollers 20 is vertically adjustable since the trunnions 24 extend through'slots 25 in the members 11 and since the bearings 23 are vertically adjustable, having screw rod portions 26 passing through the brackets 22, nuts 27 below the brackets and wing nuts 28 above the brackets.

An annular cutter 29 is provided on the roller groove30 in the roller 20. The roller 31 is arranged directly under the discharge opening 32 extending longitudinally of the paste trough 12. Said opening is covered by a metallic plate 33 having outlet openings 34 therethrough with which coacts a metallic plate 35 having openings 36 therethrough. Plate 35 is held in position by cleats 3'7 and is slidable longitudinally with respect to the plate 33 so as to Vary the discharge by opening; or throttling the openings 34 and 36 as desired. g 1 In order to slide the plate 35, a bracket 38 is formed integral therewith having a nut/39 rigid therewith and engaged with a manually operable screw rod 40. Screw rod 40 is journaled in a bracket 41 secured adjacent the paste trough and the screw rod is held against longitudinal mov'e-' ment relative to the bracket 41.by nuts or stops 43 thereon.

In the use of the device, the same may bear ranged on the floor, table or otherwise;

The paper is applied to the wall adjacent the floor and then upwardly to the desired'height, and finally being cut off by the operation of a hand tool or the equivalent, such as is illustrated in Figure -8. Such device comprises a shank 50 having a handle 51 and a diagonally disposed blade 52 with a cutting edge at 53.. f

Obviously the-rollers may be made of any desired material such as aluminum, hard rubber or the like. p

The paste trough 12 has a cover 54 longitudinally slidable in grooves 55. V

Various changes may be resorted to provided they fall within the spirit and scope of the invention. v

What is claimed is: v y, 1.
