This invention relates to a tiltable and slidable liquid container assocated with a support included in a rerigerator.
The Chief object of this invention is to provide a refrigerator with a suitable 'track construction'for sustaining a liquid container; such as awater bottle, which'bottle may be slid along the'support toward theback of the refrigerator-and toward the door opening or front of the refrigerator when it is desired to remove part of the contents of the bottle, the support and the bottle having a cooperating relationship, whereby' the bottle may be prevented from lateral tilting,
while supported'in the refrigerator but may be readily slid toward the dooropenng for 'pouring purposes, and maybereadily tilted when adjacent the door opening','all without removing the bottle from the refrigerator, whereby the bottle need not be removed from the refrigerator except whenempty and for refilling, or otherwise' as desired j V Another object of the inyention is to provide a support or trackway such that the outward slding movement of the bottle is limited, thereby preventing accidental complete z outward e movementoi-the bottle and disassooiation from the support except whendisassociation is desired.
with theinvention, the full lines showing the i bottle, the stopper being removed, and in its normal position within the refrigerator, and the dotted lines indicating a pourng position of the bottle when it is not removed from the;
refrigerator. Fig. 2 is a transverse sectional View through the support with the bottle shown in front elevation and in normal stationary position. Fig'. 3 is a View, similar to Fig. 1, of a modified form ofithe invention. Fig. 4 isan end elevation of the bottle and support in tilted position, and of the modification shown in Fig. 3.
In Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawing, indicates a refrigeraton 11 the opening into the same, and 12 a chamber in the refrigerator. e Suitably sup- 'it is not supported upon the t'rackways The The` chief feature of theinvention consists in the aforesaid objects are accom-` side walls.
ported by the refrigerator is a pair of spaced straight tracks in'the form of rods 13,. slidably supportedon the -rods 13 isa water bottle, having a substantially cylindrical body portion 14, an upstanding neck 15 with' a mouth 16 of appreciable area, and if desired provided with a lip 1655. The mouth may 'be positioned 'vertically on the bottle or may'be inclined, as illustrated Each side wall of the bottle includes a pair-'of outwardly projecting relatively large area portions 17 and asmaller outer pei'ipheral portion 18 connected by' a substantially cylindrical wall portion ;19. The cylindrical body wall 14 is shown fiattened as at 20. The fiattened e base portion 20 serves to support the bottle whenfiattened portion 21 serves, to support the bottle in non-tiltable relation on the trackways; The. body portion 14 thus is nested between the trackways' at its lowest portion when the bottle is be slid from the full line position shown in VFig. 1 to the, dotted line position shown ;in the r same figure and thereafter tilted at the end of said movement, or. may simultaneously' be tiltedin the `withdrawal movement.
In the modification shown in Figs; '3 and 4,' substantially the sametype of bottle is utilize d. In said figures all of the similarparts areindicatedby 'numerals off-the 100 series. In this form of theinvention, however, 'each trackway 'includes a, depressed' or downwardly-extending ourved portion 131 and this is positioned near the opening of the refrigerator so that 'the bottle when slid outwardly alongthe trackway toward the opening of the refrigerator, will nest 'in thearcuate portion 13-1 and then may be readily tilted therein for pouring. Likewise this typefof trackway prevents accidental escapement' of the bottle duringthe pouring operation.
i The bottle need not be provided with the fiattened bottom portion 2 0 or 120, but then the bottle will not be self-sustaining when positioned upon a fiat surface support. Preferably, howeveg the flat bottom is provided. Likewise, in"` most instancies, the flattened' portion 20 or'120 should be provided upon the large side areasor The invention claimed is: I j
