Description

c. B. WINZER 1,919,706
MEANS FOR PLAYING A GAME OF SKILL Filed April 10, 1931 //7ve/7 f0/": C, .5. Wma v Patented July 25, 1933 UNETED STATES- PATENT OFFICE CHARLES BURTON WINZER, on BALHAM, LoNDoN, ENG-LAND, AssIGNoR 'IO ERNs'r PAUL LEHMANN, E BRANIDENBURG/HAVEL, GERMANY v MEANS FOR PLAYING A GAME OF SKILL Application filed April 10, 1931, Serial No. 529,217, and in Germany January 24, 1930.
This invention relates to a device which serves the purpose of a ball thrower and a ball striker and consists more particularly in this that the outer surfaces of the prismatic (preferably four-cornered) ball throwing tube which is open at one end, are formed so as to act as surfaces for catching, striking or supporting the ball. 7
It has already been proposed to throw 10 up balls of different kinds with the aid of various means (easily actuated by helical springs or similar devices) out of funnelshaped or basket-like containers provided with a handle and to catch them again with the basket.
In contradistinction thereto the inventor,
cross-section, however, may be used. The
balls are first placed in the tube and then thrown up by means of it, whereupon the g game starts afresh.
The invention is shown diagrammatically and by way of example in Figures 1 to 5. 1
is a tube which is not too short and is made of any suitable material and of any suitable cross-section to act as a guide for the ball 2 to be placed therein. 8 is a handle made of any suitable material and of any suitable shape.
What I claim is:
Means for playing a game of skill comprising in combination with a ball, a throwing and striking member consisting of a hollow prism of uniform cross-section throughout and open at one end and having a handle at the other end and having fiat exterior sides extending to the open end and forming the surfaces for catching and striking the ball.
CHARLES BURTON WINZER.
