The invention consists of a suitable cabinet 10 having a pocket 11 formed atthe lower end to receive'the used portions of towel anda suitable hinged door 12, which is custom arily provided with a mirror 13 in the upper portion, a slot being provided intermediately below the mirror as at 14. A recess 15 forms a .sl o t 16 when the door is closed. A shelf '17 advances thie towel so as to make it readily grasped. r

The towelfeeding mechanism consists of two pairs of rolls comprising feed rolls 25 and 26 and take- up rolls 27 and 28.
Rolls 26- and 28 are plain cylindrical rolls having a journal 29 at'ea h end, which are rotatably mounted in bearings 30 whichin turn are-slidably mounted in slots 31 formed in end 18 and slots 32 formed in end 19, the 7 consisting of cylindrical membersflatted on two sides and leaving a cylindricalportion atone end forming a shoulder for cooperation with the inside of the ends adjacent the slots. Integral with each bearthereto is an eye 33 into which is secured a tension spring34, which has its other end secured to the end as tit 35, hooks being formed by'slitting and: forming a portion of the ends outwardly. The control mechanism consists ofa mas-. ter sprocket 46 having journals 47 and 48' which provides with a slot 67 and member65 to cooperatewith the arcuate slot 68 formed on opposite sides and rotatably mounted in bearings 49 in the end 19 and cover 23. A lug 50 is formed radially from the axis of. the hub .51. A chain 52 passes about and cooperateswith the sprockets 39 and 46.
The stop and release member consists of a bar 53 having one end bent upwardly as at 54, and which is accessible through a slot formed in the cover by slitting back and forming inwardly a portion 55 of the cover a guide for this member 54. A cam member 55 is integral with the bar 53 and isprovidedwith a semi-circular recess or cam surface 56 and two shoulders 57 and 58 for cooperation with the lug 50, the recess 56 being equal in diameter to the diameter of the hub 51'plus the length of the projecting lug, the bottom of the recess being-located below the hub a distance equal to the length of the projecting lug, whereby the stop member is automatically moved .to stop'pcsition by cooperation with the lug.
The towel basket consists of a rectangular Wire frame at 60 substantially at a right angle and has additional filler members 61, a longitudinal guard member 62 adjacent the top of the front and longitudinal guide members 63, 64 and 65 whichmembers have extensions 66 at opposite ends, the extensions on members 63, 64 and 65 all being adapted to cooperate also adapted extending upwardly from slot .67, the slot 67 having a stop 69 to prevent the extensions 66 A push button 70 is slidably mounted through the door and has a plunger 71 which isadapted to cooperate with the end 54 of bar 53. A guard 72 is superposed over rolls 27 and 28 when the door is closed.
The device is used as follows: To load, the basket 59 is'drawn forwardly and tipped to the position shown in Fig. 2, the extension 66 on member 65 engaging the stop 69 and preventing withdrawal. A roll 73 of toweling is placed in the basket so as to unwind over the top, thence passing over the top of the front of the basket as indicated at 74, thence over the front as indicated at 7 5, thence beneath the basket as shown'at 76 thence downward between rolls 25 and 26, thence forwardly as at 77 through slot 14, the portion 7 7 passing over the guard 72, guarding it from the rolls 27 and 28 when the door is closed, thence looping as at 78, thence through slot 16, upwardly and over roll 27, between rolls 27 and 28, thence depositing in the pocket 11 as indicated at 79.
The basket is next moved back into position as shownin Fig. 3 and the door closed, suit- 1n Fig. 7 to that shown in Fig. 6.
