CHARLES BROWN, OF MEADVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN PAINT COMPOSITIONS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 190,953, dated May :22, 1877; application filed October 2, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES BROWN, of the city of Meadville, in the county of Crawford and State of Pennsylvania,have invented a Compound Water-Proof Paint, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists in a composition formed by mixing pine-pitch, pine-tar, iron ore, and gutta-percha in the following proportions One and three-quarter pound pine pitch, one pint pine-tar, one pound iron ore, and one pound gutta-percha.
The gutta-percha is melted in one vessel, the pitch in another; then all the parts are put together and thoroughly mixed, and then poured into molds suitable for immediate use
