UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE cimnr noncx orlnurram New r0131; I v I I it 1 rnansrna sham? pEfvIcE Application filed April 1332. I Serial No. 606,921.
This invention relates to a device for safely mored body and, slidably supports a "piston transporting valuables'and has for the'pri; 8Q f One end of the; piston is cut away to mary object, the provision of an armored form a strong box 9 closed by a cover 10. A vehicle having means operable from therein concealed hinge 11 is employed for connectwhereby valuables may be easily and quickly ing the cover to the strong box 9 and said transferred from the vehicle to the interior cover upon its inner face has an extension 12 of a building or vice versa with complete to which .a link 13 is pivoted. The other end 7 safety against theft or robbery and without of the link 13 is pivoted to an operating rod subjecting the operator to fire arms in the 14 slidable in abore of the piston and having a I 10 hands f b dit V I threaded connection with a feed nut 15. The
With this and other objects in view, this feed nut 151at one end is provided with a invention consists in certain novel features suitable handle 16 for imparting rotation of construction, combination and arrange-v thereto and is journalled withinthe piston;
ment of parts to be hereinafter more fully Anannular groove 17 .is formedin'the nut v a described and claimed. 15 to receive the inner ends of set bolts 18 65 For a complete understanding of my incarried by the pistonxfor thepurpose ofrovention, reference is to be had to the followtatably securing the nut in the piston. The ing description and accompanying drawings, set bolts 18 are carried by the piston with i hi h their outer ends so arrangedas not to inter- I Figure 1 is a side elevation partly in secfere with the sliding movement of the piston 70 tion illustrating an armored vehicle with a within the mounting. The wall of a building is the armored body with the op'ening'dof the 7 shown at 4 and is provided with a receiving building. The operator confined within the opening 5 so that when the vehicle is backed armored body places the valuables inlth'e' up to the wall, the opening 5 will align with strongbox9 and rotates the crank handle 23 the opening 3. Wear plates 6 may be posiin a proper direction to feed the piston' out tioned about the walls of theopening 5. wardlyand through: the opening 5 of the A mounting 7 is suitably secured in the am building. The operator then rotates the handle 15 in a proper direction to open the cover 10 so that a second operator within I the building may remove the valuables and thereby obviate any possibilityvof theft of the valuables during the transferring of the same from the armored body to the build in or vice versa.
IlVhile I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will be understood that minor changes in" construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be made 'without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention, as claimed.
Having thus describedmy invention, what I claim, is z 1. A device for transporting valuables comprising an armored motor vehicle body having an opening, a strong box slida'bly mounted in the body, means operated from the interior of the body to slide the strong box through the opening into a building, and means for opening and closing the strong box from the interior of the body.
2. A 7 device for transporting valuables comprising an armored vehicle body having an opening, a mounting located in the body comprising an armored vehicle body having an opening, a mounting in said body and aligning with the opening, a piston slidable in the mounting and movable through the opening, a strong box formed integrally with the piston and movable outwardly of the dle secured to the shaftand located in the body to permit a person therein to impart movement to the piston in either direction. In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
CARL F. BURCK.
