This body of cork is illustrated as cylindrical in form and the periphery of this cylindrical body is formed with a V-shaped circumferentially extending groove or notch designated 11. This groove 11 is preferably one-sixteenth of an inch wide and one-eighth of an inch deep and, as before stated, is approximately V-shaped in cross section. The groove is disposed at equal distances from the side faces of the cork body. Disposed on each side of the cork body are the preferably metal plates 12 whose edges may be flanged slightly as at 13 and turned over upon the peripheral face of the cork body. These plates 12 are held in place against the cork body by means of the rivet 14 extending entirely throu h the body and plates. While metal might be used, stiff paper is preferable as there is then no chance of the edge of the blade striking accidently against the metal and becoming dull. It is to be understood that there are no abrasive surfaces on this razor blade, truer or sharpener, but that the edge of the blade is sharpened or trued simply by drawing itthrough orin 755 the groove 11. The cork being somewhat resilient, acts to straighten the sharp saw teeth on the edge of the blade so as to bring them allin line and thus putthe razor in good condition for use.

A razor blade sharpener of the character described, comprising a cylindrical body of cork having in its circumference a V-shaped groove through which the edge of a razor blade may be drawn, and relatively stiff endmembers disposed against the sides of the cylindricalbody to prevent the disintegration of the cork.

A razor blade sharpener of the character described comprising a cylindrical body of cork having in its circumference a V.-' shaped groove, the groove beingdeep'er than it is wide, the walls of the groove beingtreat ed with a hardening and disinfecting agent, sideplates attached to the sides of the body, and paper bands attached-to, the periphery of'the body on each side of said groove;
