My invention relates to improvements in article holsters, and the object of my improvement is to supply a device of this class having a variety of flap-secured pockets shaped and sized to hold different articles, and provided with means for suspension from a garment or belt for ready use when needed.

This object I have accomplished by the means which are hereinafter described and claimed, and which are illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figs. 1 and 2 and respectively front and rear elevations of my improved article holster.

This device is preferably constructed from 15 flexible material, such as any suitable textile or leather, or rubberized or glazed fabric. It may be made, however, from other materials, rigid or flexible, singly or in combination.

As exemplified in the drawing, the device is I made from flexible material, having a rear section 1 terminating upwardly in a diminished part ending in an integral strap 2 having alined holes to admit the tongue of a buckle 3 adjustably, said buckle being mounted upon the diminished upper part of a top forward section 4: having several depending flaps 5, 6 and 7, the piece 4: being secured upon the upper part of the rear section 1 by cross stitching.

A lower forward section 10 is secured upon the lower part of the section 1 by stitching 11 at the bottom and both sides, but is left open at the top. This front section 10 is by longitudinal stitching to the rear section 1 divided into three open top pockets 12, 13 and 14., the middle pocket 18 being the widest, and the other pockets 14 and 12 of less widths. F or the purpose of ornament, a bottom terminal section 15 is by stitching secured between the 40 lower ends of the sections 1 and 10, and may be cut with fringes 16 with arcuate edge or other shape.

Referring to said Fig. 2, the numeral 17 denotes a small rectangular open top pocket of flexible material secured by stitching 18 on the back of the rear section 1 about midway between its bottom andtop.

I have provided the paired snap fasteners 8 and 9 respectively for each flap 5, 6 and 7 to mate and separably hold the flaps fastened Serial No. 526,421.

upon the upper parts of the pockets 12, 13 and 14, as indicated in Fig. 1, and the same type of fasteners may be used to secure the open upper part of the rear pocket 17 to the rear section 1.

The forward pockets la'and 12 are shaped and sized to conveniently hold a pencil and a fountain pen respectively. The wider middle pocket 13 may receive a wider article, such as a small note-book, a folding rule, comb, or other flattened object, while the rear pocket 17 may receive a watch, coins, or other small object.

Other types of fasteners may be used, and while the loop of the strap 2 may be suspended on a belt, any other means for securing or supporting the device may be used without departing from my invention.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is: i

' In a device of the character described, a backing member having its upper end reduced to form a strap end perforated to receive a buckle tongue, a front member secured upon the backing member, having its upper end reduced to form a strap and having a buckle thereon to cooperate with said perforated strap as a suspension means, open top pockets of difierent sizes mounted on the front and a single pocket also on the back of said backing member, separated integral clo sure flaps shaped from the lower part of said front member and releasably secured to said pockets on the front member, and means for releasably fastening the open end of the rear pocket to the backing member.
