IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED BRIDLE AND HALTER.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 188,421, dated March 13, 1877 application filed J annary 24, 1877.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM ScnMoLzE, of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Bridle and Halter Combined; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
My invention consists in a combined bridle and halter, constructed substantially as hereinafter described.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
In the accompanying drawings, which form part of my specification, Figure 1 represents my improved bridle and halter combined in one, arranged upon the head of the horse. Fig. 2' represents the same with the bit detached on one side, and suspended to the cheek-strap, as when feeding the horse.
In the accompanying drawings, A represents the bridle, which is of ordinary construction, except the strap f, which, in this case, is a continuation of the nose-strap g. This strap f is furnished with a ring, as in halters,

Having thus described my improvement,
what I claim as of my invention is I In a combined bridle and halter, arranged substantially as shown, the combination of rings B and D and a snap-hook or other suitable fastening device, whereby the bit may be held in position to constitute a bridle or detached, so as to provide a halter, all substantially as shown and set forth.
